A burning passion for new lands, along with an insatiable wanderlust are all that one needs for a magical journey."   >Within the ethereal mist, your conscious stirs >Opening your eyes, you try to look through the darkness to no avail >You attempt to move your body, but your limbs refuse to comply >Panic begins to rise up, and you scream with all your might but no sound comes forth >All your senses have been stripped from you, as if your body itself was gone, leaving only the mind >Confusion overtakes your panic as questions begin to swirl through whatever is left of your being >'Where am I?' >'How did I get here?' >'Am I dead?' >As you ponder your situation, a small orb of light forms before you >You flinch at it's sudden appearance, breaking your train of thought >The orb floats in front of you for a bit before it opens up, forming a large ring of light >With a slight tug, you feel your conscious drift through the ring >Small lights begin to break through the darkness, dotting the shadowy walls around you >As the rest of your mind makes it through the ring, a flood of sensations fill your head >Falling to the ground, you can feel the pain of your body hitting the rocky floor >Taking in large, ragged breaths, you push against the ground and turn over onto your back >You've never been so happy to see your own arms in your whole life   >Sitting up, you rub your eyes and look around >You appear to be in a cave of some sorts, dimly lit with candles scattered about here and there >At the center of the cave, there are some rocks set up on pedestals, all perfectly sculpted to spheres >After a few shaky attempts, you finally stand up and walk towards the center with uncertain steps >"...choose..." >You jump at the sudden voice, goosebumps washing over your body >Standing still, you wait for it to speak again >"...choose..." >The voice was no louder than a whisper, as if it was carried on the wind itself >Licking your lips, you look up and speak W-who are you? >Silence >You begin to wonder if it was just your mind, but soon enough, the voice responds >"...choose..." >Clearly you weren't going to get much info out of whoever this voice is >Walking to the center of the room, you look around to the spheres >There were ten of them in total, and it seemed like each one has a picture carved on it's surface >You walk around each pedestal and make a mental list of their depictions >A sun, a full moon, a chimera, a book, a heart, a crystal, an insect, a centaur, an eclipsed moon and a cat's eye.   >"...choose..." >The voices calls out to you once more >You figure you have to pick one of these spheres for something >But why? What purpose are you fulfilling here? >None of this makes any sense what so ever >And it doesn't help that the voice refuses to disclose any information either >But still, with no real exit to this cave, and no one else around you, it isn't like you have a choice in the matter anyways >One way or another, you're going to have to choose a sphere, regardless of the consequences >With some trepidation, you walk towards a random sphere >You raise your arm, and hesitantly prod the stone >You tense up your body and brace yourself for the worse >After a few fearful minutes, you look around to see that nothing has changed >Cautiously, you pick up the stone from the pedestal >Nothing >You look around for a bit, waiting for something to happen >"...choose..." >With a confused look, you look to the ceiling But... I've already chosen, er, whatever this is. >"... are you certain?" >So it knows other words >How shocking I guess? >"... do not guess. Are you certain of your choice?" >You clear your throat a bit Yes. I am certain. >"...very well..."   >Before you can react, a burst of light shoots forth from the sphere >You fall to the floor, mind blacking out as you drift back into unconsciousness >As the world around you dims, you hear the cryptic voice one last time >"... the choice is made. There is no going back now, mortal..."   End of prologue
