- The Fate of Anonymous. - 14 - One Thing -
- >You run.
- >Running, faster and faster.
- >This was bad. Real bad.
- >Nothing could have prepared you for this.
- >You sprint down the dirt path in nothing but your boxer shorts.
- >Pebbles and stones cut at your bare feet.
- >You hardly notice.
- >You need to get to Ponyville.
- >That noise... Remembering it sent chills down your spine.
- >You pick up the pace as the sound rings through your head clear as day.
- >Your feet are already in a bad way.
- >Leaving a blood trail that anyone could easily follow.
- >The pain, numbed by the overwhelming sense of urgency.
- >You reach the edge of Ponyville before you hear a scream.
- >Oh god it's Rarity and it's coming from the boutique
- >Please not sweetie bell.
- >Anyone but sweetie bell.
- >Sweetie bell was the only pony you cared for in this forsaken land.
- >Running down the road you see Rainbow dash fly over ahead at full speed.
- >You need to get there, now!
- >You push your body to its limits.
- >Aches and pains course through your body, your feet blistering and bleeding.
- >Without you noticing Applejack was now running next to you, lasso in mouth.
- >"What in tarnations going on!?"
- >You don't answer her. You can't.
- >All you know is that you need to rea-
- >You stand with the boutique in view.
- >What you see in front of you makes everything else fade from reality.
- >This one image is powerful enough to drown out all preconceived notions that things would be OK.
- >Things would most certainly NOT be ok.
- >Rarity is outside, screaming at the top of her lungs for her sister.
- >Rar:"SWEETIE BELL! SWEETIE!"
- >Tears filling Rarity's eyes as she looks on.
- >It's painfully clear that sweetie bell can't hear her.
- >Rar:"DON'T WORRY, I'LL GET HELP! TWILIGHT WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO!"
- >Rarity notices you and begins to run straight at you.
- >All you can do is stare at the scene that she had left behind.
- >Shock wearing off fast you manage to hear Applejack whisper "Sweet Celestia"
- >Rar:"ANON YOU HAVE TO HELP, YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING!"
- >You look her straight in the eyes.
- >Fear clutch's at your heart as you stare at her.
- >What could you do? There wasn't anything.
- >Blood trickled down the front of sweetie bells head.
- >Almost gushing to the point that rarity was almost completely red in her own sisters blood.
- >She shakes her sister violently but doesn't get a response.
- >This was your fault.
- >You did this.
- >You and your selfish obsession.
- >She was the only one to care for you in this or any other world.
- >How did you repay her?
- >By allowing her blood to be spilt by the very weapon that had thwarted your own attempts so many times.
- >Your fists clench into a pure ball of self hatred.
- >You walk over to the crying Rarity, trying to hold back the vomit.
- >You know there's nothing you can do, although you feel compelled to try anyway.
- >Rainbow dash lands next to you, jaw slack.
- >You carefully take the limp fillies body in your arms as your eye's begin to blur from the tears of loathing and sadness well.
- >Blood slowly trickles down your bare chest.
- "Rainbow Dash, You get twilight and tell her to meet us at the hospital."
- >You begin jogging and notice dash still stood in place.
- "FUCKING NOW DASH!"
- >She shakes her head and darts off in a blur.
- >Your jog turns into a fully blown sprint.
- >You know that there isn't anything that can be done.
- >But god dammit you could try.
- >After all, when you killed yourself you ended up in the nightmare known as Equestria.
- >Plus they've got magic and shit.
- >That should fix her right up.
- >Right?
- >Applejack and Rarity sprint alongside you as you reach the hospital.
- >By this point you looked the one to have shot her.
- >Dear god did this little filly have a lot of blood.
- >With a might thrust of your right leg you kick one of the hospital doors off of its hinges.
- >It certainly drew the attention of all of the staff that were working.
- "WE NEED HELP!"
- >Several doctor ponies and nurses all rushed over at once.
- >The sight alone was enough to make a couple of the nurses faint.
- >Crimson painted the entire front of your form. Even your face.
- >A stretcher is brought out and the limp filly placed on it.
- >Two of the unicorn doctors horns light up and the light envelops sweetie bells head.
- >After thirty seconds of straining and perfuse sweating the doctors stop using their magic and shake their head.
- >You fall to your knees, all strength leaving your form.
- >This was inevitable, but some part of you had hope.
- >"We're sorry, she's not dead, but we don't have the type of power required to heal something like this. She's got a minute at best."
- "WAIT, SHE'S NOT ALREADY DEAD!?"
- >"Whatever it was that hit her went straight through the snout, leaving the brain intact."
- >"However the damage is far to extensive to be fixed with our magic. She's lost almost all of her blood, without something sort of a miracle she's-"
- >The other hospital door get blown off its hinges by a purple blast.
- >I know the situation is dire, but there really was no need for that.
- >I mean, the other door is already off its hinge.
- >They could have just walked around- 'FUCKING FOCUS ANON'
- >Twi:"What if I channel my magic into it as well?"
- >"It might keep her alive for a bit longer, although It would take even more than you could provide to actually save her."
- >The doc's horn lights up again and so does twilight's.
- >Twilight maintains a purple energy stream between her and the two doctors.
- >All the meanwhile the doctors are enveloping sweetie bell in their own aura, which seems much brighter than before.
- >Rarity had taken to crying at the sidelines, Rainbow keeping her in check.
- >AJ:"The elements! I Betcha' the elements of harmony would give us enough power to do your fancy healin' magic."
- >The Elements?
- >You'd heard about them in passing, but never bothered to ask about them.
- >Who really gives a shit, if they can save sweetie bell, you'd die getting them.
- "Ok! Where can we get these... element things?"
- >AJ:"Well, there's four of us here already, we jus' need Fluttershy and pinkie pi-"
- >A mass of pink erupts from your mouth as pinkie pie climbs out in a hurry.
- >You would scream if your jaw wasn't being held open by a tire jack.
- >PP:"I'm here guys! My tail twitched with a knee shake as my left eye wobbled side to side. That could only mean that we need the elements of harmony to save sweetie bell!"
- >You are apparently the only one taken aback by the pink ones entrance.
- >Even in the most pressing of situations you find it within yourself to feel nothing but un-yielding anger toward the puffy pink devil spawn.
- >AJ:"Good, Now all we need is Fluttershy!"
- "Rainbow Dash, Go get Fluttershy"
- >RD:"But what about Rarity!? I can't ju-"
- "DID I STUTTER? GO GET FLUTTERSHY, NOW!"
- >Your all caps rage is enough to send her barrelling towards the gap in the wall where there used to be doors.
- >Inspecting twilight you can already see beads of sweat making their way down her neck.
- >You've gone from no chance of saving her to a slim chance. It appears to be getting slimmer by the second.
- >Sweetie bells blood had started to dry on your skin and you could feel it crisp under your movements.
- >"Come on, we need to get her to a room!" One of the Doctors began to wheel the stretcher out.
- >You reach the other room with all the others in tail and stop.
- >You could be ripping your hair out right now.
- >This. All of This.
- >It was your fault.
- >You were the one with the gun.
- >You were the one with the inability to kill yourself.
- >You ARE directly responsible for what happened with sweetie bell.
- >The blood slowly drips from the open wound in sweetie bells snout.
- >"She's lost too much blood. She's not going to make it more than another two minutes."
- "DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE SAY THAT!"
- >"I'm sorry, but she needs more blood now and we don't have any."
- "Well then use mine!"
- >To emphasize your point you hold out your arm
- >"I'm sorry, your blood won't work"
- >This is one of the few times you're glad that you gave blood for money.
- "I'm Rhesus Negative. That means my blood is universal!"
- >The doctor pony looks at you and responds in the flattest tone you've ever heard.
- >"To give her your blood you would need to be a pony"
- >You groan in frustration as you pace.
- >Ideas vault through your skull as quickly as you dismiss them.
- >There are to be something.. ANYTHING you could do to fix this!
- >It doesn't look like twilight's got a lot left in her.
- >She's panting pretty hard and sweating profusely.
- >Without her magic sweetie bell will die.
- >'You would need to be a pony.'
- >The realization hits you like a hundred ton rape truck filled with brainhorn.
- "Do it!"
- >All the ponies other than twilight stop to look at you in confusion.
- >AJ: "Beggin' your pardon?"
- "Do it! Turn me into a pony so I can give my blood to her."
- >Rarity seems to have calmed down enough to hear your suggestion.
- >Rar: "C-Can we do that?"
- >The doctor pony looks like he is deep in thought.
- >"Well, In theory, yes. But we would need someone to turn you into a pony."
- "Twilight!"
- >She manages to crank her head just enough to look at you out of the corner of her eyes.
- >The magic clearly taken its toll.
- >Twi: "Not.. E-Enough... Strength.. Would need.. H-help."
- >Rar: "I can channel my magic into you twilight. You need to cast the spell though"
- >PP: "If Twilight cast's this spell though, she's going to be super duper tired and not able to help the doctors."
- >AJ: "Way I see it, she's going to be too tired to help in a minute anyway. At least this way sweetie bell can get the blood that she's losing, back."
- >The room descends into silences for what feels like a lifetime as everyone weighs the options.
- >However the choice is obvious.
- >She just needs to survive until Fluttershy gets here.
- >You'll do what you must.
- >Hell, you'll willingly give your life to save her. At least then your life had some value.
- >The life of a failure.
- >For the life of a filly with so, so much potential.
- "Let's do this."
- >Rarity's horn lights up a light blue aura as it engulfs Twilight.
- >In turn Twilight turns her attentions from the sweating Doctor ponies to you.
- >You find yourself wrapped up in a blanket of colours and textures.
- >You close your eyes after finding yourself becoming disorientated from the experience.
- >Several seconds later you open your eyes to notice Twilight collapsed on the floor.
- >All the other ponies standing, slack jawed at your appearance.
- >'Strange, they're all at eye level. Oh, right, I'm a pony'
- >As fascinating being a pony is you can't afforded to waste even a second.
- >Squandering no time, you gallop to the side of sweetie bell and hold out a hoof.
- >With that one single gesture the Doctors spring into action hooking a line up straight from your foreleg to sweetie bell.
- >You watch the crimson liquid make its journey through the tubes and into sweetie bell.
- >The bleeding had increased without twilights help to stop it. However it was now being replaced.
- >Minutes pass and nothing happens.
- >The room is silent. Other than the occasional sniffle not a single sound is made by anyone.
- >Time drags itself out.
- >Your perception of time changes completely.
- >Seconds become minutes.
- >Another fifteen minutes pass.
- >Your starting to feel the effects of giving your blood away.
- >Your body is cold, your legs weak.
- >Unable to stand anymore you lay yourself down on the ground.
- >"You've been giving her your blood for twenty minutes. You need to stop now."
- >You haven't even the strength to raise your head and see who's talking.
- >You don't need to though, you recognise the voice as the doctors.
- >Even talking has become a chore.
- "No."
- >You find yourself entering a relaxed state.
- >"If you don't stop you'll die of blood lose."
- "And... if I do, she will.."
- >Your eyelids droop heavy as you fight to remain conscious.
- >Sweetie bell was losing blood as fast as she was receiving it.
- >At this point the blood that was now sporadically dripping down onto your coat was probably your own.
- >The doctor moves as if you forcibly make you stop.
- >You react by raising a hoof.
- >There was nothing else you could do.
- >"There's no point in both of you dying."
- >You're only able to talk through deep gasps of air at this point.
- "W-Which is.. Why... I.. Will and... She.. Wont."
- >The last breath you take is haggard and rough.
- >"You always was a fucking disgrace. Now you're going to die for something that you hardly even know?"
- "Hehe... Hey mom.."
- >You don't bother raising your head.
- >"You wondered why things ended like they did when I had you as a son!? If I was actually here, I would let you kill yourself."
- "Good..."
- >"Completely fucking worthless. Just like your farther, a fucking good for nothing."
- "...One Thing.."
- >"Oh really? What's that!?"
- "M-my.. blood.."
- >Rar: "What's going on!?
- >Doc: "He's lost too much blood. He's hallucinating"
- >AJ: "Sounds like he's speaking with his ma."
- >By this time Twilight had recomposed herself had stood back up, trying to assess the situation while she was collapsed.
- >It's been too long.
- >You have no energy to move even if you wanted to.
- >The world slowly begins to fold in on itself in a mist of black.
- >You can't fight it anymore.
- >Besides.
- >You've earned this.
- >This was finally how it ended.
- >Not in a selfish act, but in an act of kindness and determination.
- >Determination to save the one and only thing that you even remotely cared for.
- >You might not have succeeded, but you'll be damned if you didn't try your hardest.
- >That's all you can really ask of yourself.
- >The cold of blood loss is replaced by the warmth of the enveloping darkness.
- >It's welcoming. Sort of like a friend you haven't seen in a long time.
- >This is where you die
- >and that's just fine.
- >Among the ever growing black tide sweeping your vision an explosion of colour making it into your vision.
- >RD: "BACK! I HAVE FLUTTERSHY!"
- >Twi: "No time. Girls positions."
- >Your clasp on reality varnish's as your absolved of your life.
- >You accept its embrace with only one regret.
- >You wasn't able to speak your last two words.
- >The last two words meant for the only creature or person to have ever actually cared about you.
- >Sweetie Bell
- >
- >
- >'Thank You'
