- >The first thing Lyra remembered was being asleep.
- >She slowly awoke to a bright morning sun in a brilliantly green meadow.
- >As she opened her eyes and inhaled the first breath of clean, crisp air, it occurred to her that she most certainly did not fall asleep in a meadow last night.
- >She began to rise and look around. She was surprised to find Pinkie Pie next to her in a deep sleep.
- >Lyra gently nudged Pinkie with her hoof in an attempt to get her up, perhaps finding an answer from her. She muttered something about a sea monkey and snorted.
- >"Pinkie Pie?" Lyra began to speak.
- >"I don't wanna go to pineapple school..." Pinkie slurred, barely awake.
- >"Pinkie, can you tell me where we are?"
- >Pinkie gradually got up and began to stretch. She surveyed the area for a bit, before turning back to Lyra.
- >"Nope, no idea where we are or how we got here!" Pinkie cheered.
- >"You're weirdly upbeat, considering that we're lost in some kind of weird meadow-type area" Lyra said, puzzled.
- >Pinkie snorted. "I'm used to it! I usually wake up in strange places after a night of partying, and every night is a night of partying for me!"
- >Lyra tilted her head.
- >"Well, I sure didn't go to any parties last night, but I'm here, too."
- >"Hmm, that is kinda strange! I wonder what happened to get us here?"
- >"Well, if we work together, we can figure it out!" Lyra said confidently.
- >"We oughta get to work right away, then!" Pinkie said, "Starting with this weird plant!
- >She stuck her snout to the ground and plucked out a green plant with her mouth.
- >Lyra levitated the plant out of Pinkie's mouth and towards her face, inspecting it.
- >"Hey, this looks like a tiny tree, leaves and all!" Lyra remarked.
- >Pinkie thought the green mare's observation over for a second before jolting in realization.
- >"Maybe the tree isn't tiny at all, but we're super big!"
- >"What? That's silly, Pinkie!" Lyra said with an air of superiority. "It'd take all the unicorns in Ponyville to get us big enough to dwarf a tree!"
- >"Maybe it's a HUGE prank!" Pinkie said, laughing at her own pun.
- >Lyra giggled. "We'll file that under 'maybe'."
- >Lyra looked around until she saw a mass of shapes on the horizon.
- >She pointed Pinkie towards the mass.
- >"I think that's where we need to go!" Lyra stated.
- >"It looks like as good a way as any!" Pinkie replied.
- >With that, they started towards the rising sun.
- >The long, tedious walk began.
- >Both ponies made several attempts to stir up a conversation, but most ended with Lyra confused.
- >They agreed to wait until they saw somepony else until they tried to talk again.
- >After a while, they managed to make out what the mass of shapes was.
- >It seemed to be a curiously small city. Other than the fact that it wasn't even close to the size of a bedroom, let alone a city, there was nothing particularly interesting about it that either pony could make out from a distance.
- >"Hey! Someone was nice nough to leave this playset for us!" Pinkie exclaimed. She began to gallop towards it, but Lyra stopped her.
- >"Wait a sec, Pinkie. As fun as playing in a model city after walking for the longest hour *ever* sounds..."
- >Lyra began to have second thoughts. It didn't look like it could be a trap, and whoever owned the city obviously didn't care enough about it to leave it in the middle of nowhere.
- >"Disregard that. Let's bounce, Pinkie!"
- >Lyra began to prance toward the small city, with Pinkie following behind.
- >They reached the city in a heartbeat.
- >"Okay," Lyra said, examining the parameters, "You see downtown, and I'll"
- >"Eww!" Pinkie interrupted, "There are bugs in this city!"
- >Lyra looked down at her side to see that there were little figures scattering at the sight of her.
- >She shouted and jumped once she saw that the city was occupied.
- >This caused a huge tremor in the city, causing quite a few figures to fall over.
- >Lyra's thoughts caught up to her, and she decided that it was best to see what exactly was running away from her.
- >"Pinkie! Hold still! Don't hurt the bugs!"
- >Pinkie took a hoof out of the city and giggled nervously at herself.
- >She looked at the 3 or so red dots on her hoof and wiped them off in the grass, which she finally noticed was quite small itself.
- >Lyra lowered her face into the street where a few of the small creatures were getting up from her jolt.
- >She chose one of the creatures and picked it up telepathically.
- >The creature made a high-pitched screech and started to swing its limbs around in the air.
- >Lyra couldn't help but feel guilty for the poor thing, but the guilt was replaced with awe when she saw what it was.
