  1. One of the first bronies to make an individual impact on both the fandom and the board was Purple Tinker. In 2011, she joined other New York bronies to create the first ever brony-made My Little Pony convention, which was titled "BroNYcon". According to the Bronycon website, the first event took place on June 25 of that same year and had about 100 attendees. By the time Purple Tinker left the convention's organizing panel in March of 2012, the event had grown to 850 attendees and had started to host voice actors from the show and high-level fandom notables. The last Bronycon, which took place in late June/early July of 2012, had over 4,000 attendees and guests of honor ranging from nearly every voice actor and actress from the show (including John de Lancie of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" fame) and show creator Lauren Faust.

  3. Despite being the founder of all this, Purple Tinker has become of the most infamous members of the My Little Pony fandom. Ever since her resignation from con chair, multiple accusations came out against her in the following months coming from users of deviantArt, Tumblr and /mlp/. These accusations include her embezzling approximately $18,000 from Bronycon, causing multiple problems in both the Bronycon staff and the New York Bronies group and trNew York Bronies group and tring to dismantle Canterlot Gardens, another My Little Pony convention. In short, /mlp/ and Purple Tinker became bitter enemies over the summer of 2012.
