- >Slipping into my what seems to feel like my new yet old clothes I headed out the doors of the hospital as Jack followed along.
- >I take a good look at my surroundings and found that I'm in a...desert of somekind.
- >It looks like the setting for a western movie with the typical swinging doors and such things
- >I starred blankly for'a moment.
- >Jack nudged my hand and snapped me out of my thought.
- > "Welcome to Palomino, hope it isn't too hot for you."-Jack
- "Heh, I've been through worse. Have you ever walked out your door and burned your foo-..hooves?"
- > Jack looked at me in a strange way.
- "...never mind.."
- "Well, anyways, what can I get to eat around here? I sure can go for a burger with some chilicheese fries on the side and a cold glass of rootbeer".
- >His facial expressions didn't change
- >He began "are those some strange eatin's? what's a 'burger'? And a 'rootbeer?"
- >I looked at him in disbelief but then again I forgot that I was in an alien planet.
- "I guess you guys don't have them here. No need to worry, as long as there's something edible I would eat it."
- >"We can head to mah place for a quick bit if'd you like"-Jack. I looked up to the sky and thought to myself "well, I guess I should since I really don't know much of this place or planet for that matter."
- "Yeah, let's do it"
- > Jack smiles, "well c'mon then. Let's go!"
- >Walking pass various stores I spot an orange p0ny hulling a wagon full of jugs and apples.
- >I see that a couple of apples fall out, so I decided to pick them up and hand them to her.
- > I tell Jack that I'll be right back.
- > I walked to the orange mare and exclaimed
- "E-Excuse me, miss? I believe these belong to you!"
- > she stops then turned to me "oh! Well, hey now. I knew this wagon felt a bit light. Thanks'a million stranger!"
- >this p0ny sounded like she was full of energy and had a southern tone to her voice
- >" ya know, not many folks would help a lil ol' mare such as my self with anythin'. Thank ya, mister....?
- >I responded
- "Capt-..Anon, just call me Anon."
- >she chuckled "well thats'a weird name, my name is Applejack, 'sa pleasure ta meet ya Anon."
- >I hear Jack call my name "C'mon Anon it gettin' dark out soon let's get home already!"
- Jack slowly continues down the dirt path we were taking, waiting for me.
- "Sorry, uh, Applejack. I gotta get moving hope to see you around."
- >"well ah hope the same sugarcube and if ya ever wanna talk, meet me at Cider Sally's bar. Tons of fun thin's in there. I'm usually there from 8pm-3:30am"
- >I nod then we hand/hoof shake then part our ways.
- >I rushed to Jack and now oddly think of that orange mare.
- >She reminds me of someone...these p0nies remind me of humans in many ways.
- >Maybe it's all in my head
- >"I see that you can make friends in a split second there Anon. You otta teach me some of that social stuff, I'm not so good at talking with mares."
- >I had a confused look on my face so in return I said
- " well uh, sure, why not"
- >I'm not all that social myself I just know what to say at certain times.
- "So uh, Jack."
- >he had a curious face painted at me as we continued to walk the dirt path
- "what uh, job or specialty do you have?"
- >"heh, it's not much really. I just jot down what I see on a day to day basis and always question..well..everything!"
- >I look at his flank and saw that it had a...potato?
- "So..what does your cutie mark resemble?"
- >"funny thing you ask that question I was just going to tell you when we got home. I'm a potato farmer! I love 'em with a passion!"
- >Jack talks about potatoes in till we reached his house.
- >It looked partially destroyed or somethings along those lines. A hurricane perhaps?
- >It was your typical wooden home with a picket fence that has chipped paint pealing off. I walked inside and it looked surprisingly clean.
- >"Well, home sweet home!"
- >he falls onto his olive green couch and let out a loud sigh.
- >"Gee, this day felt long din' it?" I shrugged and sat on a stool that was next to the couch.
- >I looked at Jack as he got comfortable.
- >I then think about how much I miss my home planet and how my loving wife is still there waiting for me.
- >I tear up a little bit. Jack sees my heavy tears fall to the wooden floor
- >"Hey, you okay Anon?"
- >I'm snapped out of my thoughts again and replied
- "W-what? Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm okay. I just miss my home, that's all".
- >"must be rough. Did you have a family?"
- >I stretch out my arms and let out a tired sigh, then answered back,
- "Yeah I did. I had a wife and a kid but that's all. The rest of my family died many years ago."
- >"I'm sorry to hear that..." I leaned forward and rustled his mane
- "No worries. I don't really think they're dead. I just think I'm not with them right now. You know?"
- >Jack chuckled a bit
- >"yeah, I guess I do. Well, anyways you hungry or something? I can cook us up some fries if you'd like?"
- > stomach growls aloud. Starting to chuckle
- "Yes. I'd love some..or maybe a lot."
- >Jack jumped out of the couch with enthusiasm and zipped to the kitchen.
- >He told me to get comfortable for a little bit since he told me
- >"perfect fries need perfect time"
- >About 10 or 20 minutes pass by and soon he comes out with two large treys of golden fries.
- >My mouth starts to water as I slowly feel myself get lost in the intoxicating allure from the lightly salted spuds.
- >Before we filled our bellies, I turn to jack and say
- "Thanks for finding me out in the desert. I'll repay you somehow, I promise."
- >he just shakes his head and says
- >"I don't want any kind of favors I'd just want a.. *gulps* healthy friendship."
- >I laugh out loud
- "Well I can do that! But I do have to ask you one thing."
- >"What is it?"
- >I pause for a moment
- "Got any ketchup?"
- >We laugh the night away then wake up to a new day.
