  1.
  2.             ~All of this is subject to change, don't mind the awkwardness of the next few lines~
  3.
  4. >"That was the best night of my life," she said. The woman shifted and turned toward him.
  5. >He smiled in response.
  6. >"I'm glad you enjoyed it, I always try to live every moment like it's my last. That means I always give top performance," he got up, beginning to dress in his nice suit.
  7. >"W-what are you doing?" she stirred more, sitting up. "You're not going to stay?"
  8. >He looked toward the window. It was raining all night and was continuing, the early morning remaining gray.
  9. >A smile of extreme pleasure came across his face.
  10. "No."
  11. >He left the room, suit jacket draped over one arm.
  12. >He placed the black jacket over a chair in the woman's dining room.
  13. >It was dark throughout the whole apartment, which was comforting for him, it made everything so much easier.
  14. >He retrieved a knife from a draw next to the sink, he slipped it in his back pocket carefully, it was a familiar process.
  15. >He walked back to the room, seductive smile across his face.
  16. "Perhaps one more go?"
  17. >She grinned with joy and rose out of bed, the sheet dropping to reveal her nude, slender body.
  18. >She walked forward, swinging her hips just a little with each step.
  19. >He reached into his back pocket, waiting for the right moment.
  20. >She didn't notice anything, the room was too dark.
  21. >She pressed up against him, leaning in for a kiss, he accepted, leaning in close to her warm body. With one fluid motion, carried out by practiced hands, her throat was slit, and her mouth covered. >She made a poor attempt at struggling but she was easily overpowered.
  22. >Lovely crimson covered his hands and her pale flesh.
  23. >He'd created another empowering masterpiece.
  24. >Another great evening, and a pleasant morning.
  25. >He claimed the knife for his collection, and prepared for the cleaning.
  26. >It took some time but the job was well done, the body lay in a tub of bleach by the end of the process, as always.
  27. >Ecstatic at another well done job he gathered his suit jacket, wallet and pea coat and exited the run down apartment building.
  28. >He bumped into a man on the way, he had the look of one of those crazy people.
  29. >The man was nice looking enough for another great evening and pleasant morning, but he lived in the same apartment block as his previous date.
  30. >That would be uncomfortable for everyone.
  31. >Thoroughly content with life, he walked back home, to find a stranger waiting outside his door.
  32. >The man was just an inch or two above him, which was already a set back.
  33. >On top of that the man's hair was very displeasing.
  34. >It was deep black, with stripes of white going through it.
  35. >His eyes seemed to be red, which was another problem, colored contacts he assumed.
  36. >The man wore a black suit, he looked like a businessman, which means he could be missed by his coworkers.
  37. >"Hello," the suited stranger said as he approached. "Unknown, I know what you were doing."
  38. >He had a convincing, knowing voice.
  39. "What was I doing?" Unknown remained calm, he'd removed police from the picture before.
  40. >This stranger would be no trouble.
  41. >The man laughed. "You're not in any trouble. Rest easy. Me and you are alike, I think. We both want to control, isn't that right?"
  42. >Unknown said nothing, but gestured for him to come in. The two walked in, Unknown following behind the newcomer.
  43. >He'd have to poison his drink.
  44. >This man was too dangerous to keep alive, he already knew too much about Unknown.
  45. >He locked the door and offered the man a drink and a seat at the table in his living room.
  46. >His house was lavishly decorated, fine mahogany tables and chairs, an expensive television and hand crafted lamps.
  47. >Having removed his coat and suit jacket he retrieved his bottle of treated red wine and two glasses from the liquor cabinet.
  48. >He took a seat at the table where his guest waited, and was about to pour him a glass when the suited man held up a hand. "Do you take me for a fool, Unknown? I know enough not to accept a drink from you."
  49. >The man snapped his fingers, and just above them a liquor bottle appeared.
  50. >The bottle hovered there, suspended by nothing. It tilted forward and poured into the glass below, at first what could have been red wine, then water, then again it became the color of chocolate milk.
  51. >The man smiled and stopped pouring then, taking a sip from the glass.
  52. >Unknown wasn't sure what to think, but this was no parlor trick.
  53. >He looked down at his table, it was changing. Oak, granite, marble, mahogany, it stopped at glass.
  54. "Who are you?"
  55. >"You could call me a lot of things. I'm known as Discord where I come from."
  56. Unknown tried his best to contain his emotions. "What would you like of me?"
  57. >"You want control, right?" Discord gave him no time to answer. "You want power over the masses, you want to control the things you couldn't before."
  58. Unknown nodded curtly, taking a breath as flashbacks came across his mind. "Doesn't everyone?"
  59. >Discord laughed. "Everyone has dreams. Very few get a chance to live them."
  60. "What are you saying?"
  61. >Discord waved his hand, a scroll of old parchment rolled toward Unknown from across the glass table, unfurling as it reached him. "Just sign this."
  62. >Unknown saw only a few lines of script on the paper, underneath it a line where you could sign your name.
  63. >It read: "By signing this you allow Discord to take you to your destination without question or complaint. You will be called upon by Discord once, after you have made use of this great gift, and if you pass the test you can keep all that you've gained."
  64. >Unknown furrowed his brow in concern. Something was wrong, his mind was getting hazy.
  65. >You need to be clear minded for this, he told himself, taking another sip of wine. "Where are we going?"
  66. >"Sign the contract, and all will be revealed."
  67. "But I can't ask questions, will you be the one revealing the information I need?"
  68. >"Yes, however that is only until we reach the destination."
  69. >He took another drink of wine from his bottle.
  70. >Haze began to set in further.
  71. "What's the catch?"
  72. >Discord threw his head back and laughed loudly, he downed his entire glass of chocolate milk. "The test is the catch, you will have to face something that has the potential to stop you."
  73. "And what would that something be?"
  74. >"I don't know, I just know you things must come in pairs. Besides, discord occurs best when two forces clash." his face curled into a huge smile.
  75. "Excuse me?"
  76. >"Sign please, I'll tell you more as soon as we get there. And no, you cannot ask where we are going."
  77. >A quill and ink appeared next to the document.
  78. >Unknown's head was swimming. He quickly signed his name.
  79. >Discord stood, shook hands with Unknown, and waved one over his sleepy looking face.
  80. >Both men were gone, an empty bottle of treated wine laying on its side and two glasses standing across from each other, empty.
