- >You begin to weigh your options as you stare off into space, Fluttershy eyeing you in fear. She knows what you are thinking, and she is petrified of you leaving her behind.
- >”Anonymous?”
- >”A-anonymous?”
- >”Anonymous answer me! P-please!”
- >You are broken from your thoughtful reverie; looking into Fluttershy’s eyes, you remain silent, trying to find some good in this being whom has brought you so much psychological and physiological torment.
- >You can find very little; the only thing that has decided it for you is the simple fact that Fluttershy’s friends would miss her, Twilight would miss her, and with the both of you disappearing for days at a time with only you returning; that is a lot to attempt to feign ignorance of; a greater hassle than it is worth, a greater hassle than SHE is worth.
- >However, before you can extend your hand to the lever, Fluttershy becomes hysterical, fear of abandonment overcoming her.
- >”I’m s-sorry! I d-didn’t mean for any of this to h-happen!”
- >She has apologized before, you cared little for it then, and even less for it now; you listen in silence regardless.
- >”I d-didn’t mean for us to get attacked by those t-things, I s-swear I didn’t know about them; the cave was empty every t-time I came here!”
- >”I’m s-sorry about your legs…and your w-wounds…and raping you.”
- >Your voice is a mere whisper, and your eyes become daggers; a quiet fury rising inside of you.
- “What did you say?”
- >Fluttershy’s blood runs cold, your eyes piercing into hers; she finds it even more difficult to speak.
- >”W-well…after I knocked you un-c-concious when you tried to escape…I enjoyed myself a little…”
- >Your mind is made up.
- “Don’t worry Fluttershy, you can relax, I’ll let you out.”
- >You are going to kill Fluttershy.
- “And when I find you, I’m going to fucking kill you.”
- >Her visage is of pure terror, ineffable fear hitting her like icy water to and unprepared face; you find it amusing.
- “You should see the look on your face, you look so frightened dear…”
- >”Anonymous? Y-you don’t mean that…you can’t!”
- “Oh but I do Fluttershy, it never actually crossed my mind that you would dare to take me without consent, but now I promise you I won’t let ANY of your many misdeeds go unpunished.”
- >”Anonymous that isn’t you speaking! You’re so kind and gentle, that’s why I fell in love with you in the first place; oh that day in Ponyville when I first laid eyes on you, your kind eyes ma-“
- “LOOK AT ME YOU FUCKING BITCH, LOOK AT WHAT YOU’VE DONE TO ME!”
- >You take a few dramatic steps back and spin slowly to illustrate your point; your body is caked in blood, grit, sweat, and tears. You are covered in scratches, cuts, bruises, gashes, and even your genitals sport a grievous wound.
- “THIS IS WHAT YOUR ‘ETERNAL LOVE’ HAS DONE TO ME; IS THIS HOW YOU LOVE SOMEONE FLUTTERSHY? YOU TRY AND KILL THEM!?”
- >”N-no I-“
- ”SHUT UP!”
- >You are breathing very heavily, shaking with rage, but you manage to speak your next words without screaming, taking solace in the fact that they WILL come true.
- “Look into my eyes, Fluttershy, and understand that your ‘love’ for me has hurt me more than you know, you may be down here in this hell-pit suffering too, but I’ve suffered far worse. So now let me make this promise to you; I will NOT let you get away with this, even if you somehow make it out of here alive, I swear to Celestia, I WILL kill you.”
- >You stare her down for a long moment, her fear paralyzing her, unable to move, unable to speak, tears streaming down her face; you wrap your fingers tightly around the lever, and pull it downward, hard. A rumble can be heard in her room, and her door slides up and open, revealing a new cavern.
- “Go.”
- >She finds it hard to break your gaze, like a mouse frozen in fear in front of the snake; but after a few moments, she begins to regain control of herself, and she backs away into the cavern, looking into your eyes the entire time, full of fear and sorrow.
- >Did you even mean any of that? Could you really kill an element of harmony?
- >She may mean nothing to you now, but to her friends she means the world.
- >You take a few steps back from the lever, and look around the room as if hoping for an answer.
- >Something strange catches your eye; the statue has changed.
- >What had been a simple, if imposing creature, was now a bone-winged beast, maw agape with gore incrusted teeth, and a serpentine tongue slithering up to the nose, presumably tasting a drop of blood.
- >You are not sure when the statue changed, but it unnerves you greatly; this place is very, very strange.
- >Trudging down the corridor revealed by your lever, you observe a grand mural of elegant, artistically rendered paintings of various p0nies. From the beginning of the mural on the left wall, you can see p0nies playing about wistfully, enjoying themselves, but as mural goes further down, you see a stark change as the p0nies start to seem to be afraid of something, and at the end of this mural, you see nothing but blackness.
- >The mural on the right wall is slightly different, with the ponies remaining happy throughout the first two sections, with the final section covered in white, rather than black.
- >At the end of this corridor, are two passageways; you take the left.
- >Walking for a very long time along this passage, your mind drifts again to Fluttershy, your hatred for her becoming fresh in your mind, and for the first time in your entire life, you begin to consider ways of ending another creature’s life.
- >As you do, a deep howl pierces the relative quiet of the corridor, echoing as if the sound emanates from only a few yards ahead.
- >Panic grips you, but you stand your ground. With the instinct of remaining unseen coming to the forefront of your mind, you kneel down and bury the luminescent mushroom in the dirt from a section of the complex wall that has cracked and crumbled, revealing the earth behind it.
- >You crouch down, and huddle in the blackness with your arms wrapped tightly around your knees.
- >After sitting for over half an hour in the stygian gloom, you begin to doze off.
- >You are benumbed by a brumal cold, and you feel so very empty. Alone.
- >Opening your eyes, you see nothing but blackness until you turn your head, now facing the bright twinkle of innumerable stars, far off into the vastness of space. You reach out to them, but you simply float away, further and further as the brilliance becomes a faint shimmer, and blinks out.
- >A whisper reaches your ears.
- >…how you feel.
- >Awakening from the dream, back into the pitch black corridor, you fumble around in the nearby dirt for the mushroom, but it seems to have vanished, and you scream in anger, punching at the space where it should have been.
- >Rising slowly to your feet, you remember why you had stopped in the first place, and listen intently for any sounds, but it is perfectly silent. Feeling along the wall in total darkness, tripping on debris, and fumbling through the darkness, you become angrier at every misstep, cursing your situation.
- >The trudge along the corridor is a difficult and lengthy one, and just as you begin to feel like lying down to rest, but you can see a light up ahead, and quicken your pace.
- >As the light becomes brighter, and you can soon see clearly the room that it is illuminating; a circular chamber with a statue of a large, stone book held aloft on a pedestal.
- >Next to the book, lies a large red quill, presumably the feather of a phoenix, but with no inkwell.
- >”Anonymous?”
- >As you shuffle into the chamber, Fluttershy’s voice can be heard from the ceiling of the chamber; she is inside of and iron cage, high above the book and pedestal.
- >”H-hello?”
- >You decide not to answer her, and step up to the book to examine it more closely. The book is opened to the center of the binding, and has no words.
- >”Whoever you are…p-please answer me…”
- >You cannot see Fluttershy from any position in the room, her cage being too far up, but you speak up to her.
- “Is there anything inside that cage with you?”
- >”Anonymous! I’m so g-glad you’re here.”
- “Just answer my question.”
- >”Okay…uhm, no, well, yes. There are some stands in here…t-three of them.”
- “What do you mean by stands?”
- >”P-pedestals, but they don’t have anything on them.”
- “Can they do anything? Do they move? Actually try something, don’t just sit there.”
- >You can hear Fluttershy whimper slightly at your cruel tone; she shuffles around above you.
- >”T-they don’t seem to move, or t-turn or anything…”
- >You sigh, time to think this through; a big stone book and quill, but what are you supposed to write?
- >”…how you feel.”
- >Again, a dream has assisted you here in this strange complex, but you ignore that fact and take up the quill with a purpose; you speak under your breath.
- “Hah…you wanna know I how FEEL, eh?”
- >You begin to hatefully scrawl across the bare stone page, the golden tip of the phoenix feather scratching loudly, a red ink being left behind, but it fades; each time you stroke a line, the crimson ink seeps away.
- “What the hell…is this supposed to happen?”
- >It isn’t, and you quickly realize you had been writing in your own language, not Equestrian; you begin again, this time the results are different.
- >Your crimson ink remains now, and you pour your thoughts and feelings onto the page as they come to you, in Equestrian; you write for several minutes.
- *”…and when I am through, nothing will be left of h-“*
- >The quill turns to hot ash in your hand; but your words remain, and they begin to glow…
- >A deep roar rocks the chamber more violently than anything thus far, and iron spikes erupt from the floor underneath you.
- >You are now trapped, the iron spikes forming a vicious claw that you cannot slip through, or climb your way out of; the points meet together, enclosing you.
- >You wrote angry words, and received an angry response.
- >That roar seemed closer than ever before, and yet through the slits of the iron claw encasing you, nothing can be seen anywhere inside the chamber.
- “Looks like I’m trapped now too, Fluttershy.”
- >Fluttershy timidly calls out to you again and again, asking if you are hurt, and what exactly has occurred, but you refuse to answer her pleading inquiries, becoming annoyed at the very sound of her voice, as there is nothing she can do to help. Nothing that you know of, at least.
- >In her cage, the tops of the three identical pedestals around her have opened up, revealing two wing-shaped depressions in the adjacent pedestals across from each other, and a plain dagger in the middle one.
- >Fluttershy’s mind begins to race as she puts the pieces of the situation together; two wing-shaped slots and a dagger, and she is a Pegasus; you are trapped down below her, unable to escape on your own.
- >Fluttershy now holds your freedom in her hooves.
