- >It's midnight in Equestria
- >You are in the middle of a dream, one you have experienced infrequently since your unexpected appearance in this strange and wondrous land of friendship and magic...
- >In the dream, you are standing in the middle of Ponyville, all large, colorful, and brilliant shining eyes are on you.
- >This was the moment you fist materialized here, as the blinding blue light that had enveloped you only moments before, back on Earth, slowly faded to reveal your new surroundings.
- >You were well aware of the other ponies all around you, you could see some, and FEEL the awestruck stares from the others.
- >However, one of these ponies stood out from the rest, the one who was closest to you, the one you were locked in a dead stare with, gazing upon each other deeply.
- >As you drank in each others aesthetic, your mind pointedly acquired each stand out feature.
- >Equine...pink mane and tail...grayish gold coat...cyan eyes...hooves...wings...beautiful.
- >”H-hello?”.
- >It TALKS...
- >Despite the gesticulations of the other ponies, you could not hear them, you only heard your own breathing, your heartbeat, and her voice.
- >And always, after a few more moments of your mutual gaze, a strange voice would echo in your mind “You should run...”.
- >You would always wake instantly after the voice. The dream confused you to no end, but you still decided to share it with no other.
- >”Morning!,” called Twilight Sparkle, as she descended the stairs. You slept right beneath her and spike on the first level of the Library.
- >You could feel your own dazed expression as you sat up in bed, and rubbed your eyes.
- >”Did you have that dream again?,” She asks quizzically. “I really wish you would tell me about it, I love trying to analyze dreams!”.
- >Her cheerfulness always did wonders in pulling you out of your early morning stupor.
- ”Nah, I just didn't sleep well is all,”
- >You lie. It may not be a nightmare, but it always makes you wonder; why does that strange voice tell you to run?
- >You stretch and yawn in your large, human sized bed, courtesy of the local Ponyvillians.
- >Looking around, you notice Spike is gone.
- “Did you send Spike out on an errand?”.
- >”Yes! We were out of milk, bread, and...,” She taps a hoof on the beautiful wooden floor of the tree house library ”Well I don't exactly remember what else...Ah! Of course!”.
- “Did you remember?”.
- >”Yes! It was cumin', I love cumin', it's my favorite spice!”. You stifle a laugh, and wonder why ponies says cumin incorrectly. Well, maybe incorrectly on Earth...
- “Would you like me to go and help Spike out?”.
- >”No Anonymous, you need to do your lessons first!”.
- >You sigh and begin to rise from your bed. You had completely forgotten about your lessons in Equestrian literature, you had nearly begun to master their strange alphabet, and now you are on the precipice of understanding proper Equestrian grammar.
- >You considered it very generous of Twilight to teach you, and you appreciated it greatly.
- >Twilight was a efficient and accommodating proctor, never allowing you to move ahead in your studies until you had mastered the work.
- >Spike had enjoyed teasing you about taking classes with the little foals of Ponyville, but Twilight quickly dismissed this notion, and guaranteed you the opportunity to be her student.
- >You found yourself immensely confused at first, their alphabet seemed, at a glance, to be nothing more than lines and squiggles.
- >As you grasped the greater concepts of your studies, you began to see the sophistication in the seemingly childish letters.
- >You even began planning your first short story, you of course did so in your own language, but your intention was to complete it in Equestrian.
- >The story revolved around some of the ponies you have met while in Equestria, with a simple plot of every pony transforming into their gender opposite.
- >You could see it now..., Big Mackenzie, Mayor Colt, Octavio, Pinkie Guy...
- >You had completed your lesson and were now day dreaming as Twilight diligently looked over your work, her keen eyes seeking out any and all errata.
- >She found none.
- >”Great job Anonymous, you did perfect, you even wrote your name and the date correctly!”. Twilight marks your paper with an A+.
- “Thanks Twi, I owe it all to you,” you say, beaming.
- >”Your an easy student to teach,” she replies, returning your smile with a brilliant one of her own.
- >”Say, since your done for the day, would you mind running a quick errand to Fluttershy's cottage?”.
- >You immediately remember your dream.
- >Walking along the path towards Fluttershy's cottage, you consider your errand.
- >You are carrying a book on snakes to assist Fluttershy in identifying the species of a snake she has never encountered before.
- >She found the snake on a rock, uncomfortably squirming in the midday sun as it attempted to shed it's skin, but found itself having great difficulty in doing so.
- >Fluttershy, being the kind, animal loving pony that she is, had no second thought in taking the potentially venomous new snake into her home to assist it's shedding.
- >To make sure she was caring for the snake properly, she asked Twilight for a book concerning snake species, only to find that Twilight's Library did not have one.
- >One letter to the caretaker of the Canterlot Library later, and Twilight found herself in possession of a large tome on the slithering little buggers.
- >It had arrived this very morning, and you were now the new courier of the book, the destination being the home of Fluttershy, the very first pony you met.
- >You take this opportunity, a quiet walk along a barely traveled path, to think of your dream again.
- >It was not a nightmare, you felt no fear during it, but two things about it stood out in particular.
- >One, you could only hear Fluttershy's voice; when you actually appeared in Ponyville, you could hear everything just fine.
- >Two, that voice... Why was it telling you to run? Who did the voice belong to? And what did it want you to run from specifically?
- >Five months of living in Equestria, having this dream off and on, and still, you could formulate no possible conclusion to the silly little mystery.
- >The dream wasn't a perfect recreation of your arrival, just an eerie one, but you had to admit...it was starting to get to you.
- >And as Fluttershy's cottage came into view, you wondered, did she have something to do with it?
- >As you raised your fist in preparation to gently knock on her front door, your mind went back to all of your conversations with Fluttershy.
- >Well, they were hardly conversations...
- >Each and every time you greeted her, or attempted to strike up a dialogue with her, no matter the topic, she would always seem so...shy.
- >The shyness is implied in her very name, you knew that, your not a total imbecile, but you thought it was awfully strange.
- >You couldn't help but notice how different she acted around you in comparison to her interactions with her friends.
- >With you, it was complete and total awkwardness, she hid behind her mane, she mumbled incoherently, she bit her lip, she even squeaked...
- >It had always seemed like there was something she desperately wanted to say, but just couldn't.
- >But why?
- >Before you can knock, the door opens slowly, and the timid yellow pony herself peers up at you.
- “Hey Fluttershy, how are you today?”.
- >She opens the door further, and glances to either side of you.
- >Opening the door fully, she steps forward and looks directly at you.
- >”You...um, b-brought the book?”
- “Yep, hope it helps you out,” you say as you pull the heavy tome from your cloth satchel and hold it out to her.
- >”T-thank you...”.
- >Her awkwardness was a little cute.
- >She lifts a hoof, but stops halfway, “Um, could you bring it inside for me? It...uh, looks heavy?”
- >The old book was a little weighty, maybe about the same heft as a fully grown pumpkin, but you have seen these ponies lift heavy objects with inexplicable ease, even seemingly grab things with their hooves.
- >You didn't think much of it. Nodding, she steps aside as you enter and ask,
- “Where would you like it?”.
- >”Um....there, over on the table is fine,” She says, pointing a hoof to a small, empty round wooden table near a green, patchwork recliner.
- >Walking towards the table, you look at the recliner. You've seen ponies sit down before, it's an odd thing to witness.
- >Before you can lay the book down...
- >”A-actually, could you maybe, um, take it upstairs please? I want to read it in...my room.”
- >Ascending the stairs with the book still in your hand, Fluttershy slowly following, not looking at you, you ask,
- “Which room is your bedroom?”
- >She mumbles something.
- “I'm sorry? I didn't catch that dear.”
- >”Far left, Anonymous.”
- >You have never heard her say your name before.
- >Waking towards her bedroom, you turn and enter, asking yet again,
- “Where would you like it?”.
- >You look at the most logical spot as you walk inside her bedroom, a small wooden nightstand, with a half melted, unlit candle on a beige porcelain plate.
- >”Deep inside me...”.
- “What?”
- >As you turn to look at her, confused by her odd response, you see she has taken flight and is a mere foot or two away from your face.
- >Blowing gently into the hoof of her outstretched foreleg, a small puff of green powder takes flight, the small flurry of particles gently rushing into your face.
- “What are you do-...”.
- >Before you can finish, the powder begins to take effect, your eyes blink rapidly and you suddenly find it hard to stand.
- >As your legs begin to give way, you search for something to grab onto, but nothing is quite tall enough, and nothing tall enough is quite close enough.
- >You crumple to the floor with a dull thud, legs bent behind your torso, arms flailed out to either side.
- >The last thing you hear before darkness takes you,
- >”P-party time.”
- >Awakening in a pitch black room, on your back, you begin to feel around your immediate area, searching for...well, anything.
- >Nothing but dust and small rocks.
- “Hello?”
- >Silence
- “HEY!”
- >Before you can begin your next cry, your hear a soft shuffling directly ahead of you.
- >A small piece of wood shifts away from the entrance to the room, light shines in, blinding you temporarily, but not before you see her silhouette.
- >It is Fluttershy, holding a bright lantern in her mouth, the room behind her was pitch black, you notice as your eyes become adjusted to the sudden illumination.
- >You must be underground.
- >”G-good, your awake. Now um, please take off your pants?”
- >You stare at her in absolute astonishment.
- “What the hell is this, Fluttershy?”.
- >”T-this is how it works, right?” She asks, eyes wide with confusion at your inquiry. Her timidity is baffling for someone who just dragged you into some...cave.
- >”I take you someplace quiet, and um...we make love...”.
- “I can't even begin to understand your logic, do you even know how cruel your actions are thus far?”
- “Fluttershy, you knocked me out with some strange powder, and threw me in a cave, and now you want me to make love to you?!”.
- >Your voice is steadily rising, your fear and confusion beginning to give way to anger.
- “Fluttershy I could strangle you right now! I...I...where are we anyway, it's so dark here.”
- >Looking around the eerie glow, where the dark waves meet the light of Fluttershy's lantern, you feel cold inside suddenly, and very afraid.
- >”A cave in the Everfree Forest, I think I'm the only one who knows about it, um...is erotic asphyxiation your fetish?”
- >Your anger returns upon hearing her words, in greater intensity.
- “MY WHAT!?”.
- >She squeaks and cowers behind her mane at your sudden outburst, she was brave enough to drag you into a uncharted cave in the Everfree Forest, but is petrified when her victim yells at her?
- >She does not respond, but merely cowers and stares at you.
- >You stare at each other for a few moments before you carefully decide upon your forthcoming words.
- “It's OK Fluttershy, I'm not mad.”
- >Your fucking livid.
- “I just want to try and understand exactly why you brought me here, please tell me.”
- >You give her your best puppy dog eyes, praying they will soften the situation, and help her to rethink anything else she may have planned for you.
- >”I um...well.” She sighs looking at her hooves, and then up to you again. “I started from the day you came to Equestria, you appeared o-out of nowhere!”.
- >”When our eyes first met, I knew what everyp0ny had ever said to me, or I had heard, about...love.”
- >”I Love my animals, each and every one of them, e-especially my little Angel Bunny”. She smiles fondly as she says his name.
- >”B-but this love is different, i-ineffable...p-powerful”. Her gaze becomes more intense on her next word.
- >“Eternal.”
- >A bolt of ice runs down your spine as she says this. You pray she doesn't mean it.
- >Something in her eyes says she does.
- >You decide a mix of reasoning and deception will be the most effective course.
- “It can't be REAL love though, not true love Fluttershy...because I don't feel the same way about you.”
- >She hung on your every word until you finished, and then you saw it, some powerful, nameless emotion swept through her, you had to stop it.
- “I'll tell you why though sweetie, it's so simple.”
- >You smile as kindly as you can, begging that she feels the benevolence your feigning.
- ”For it to be true, for it to be REAL, we had to have the same feeling for each other at that very same moment. Sweetheart you have to understand, without that...it's just a fluke, like my appearance in Equestria.”
- >You consider saying more, but decide against it. Best to let her try and process your words.
- >She looks down at her hooves again, utterly dejected, sniffling quietly.
- >After a few strained moments of utter silence, she looks up to you with a smile.
- >”I understand now, Anonymous.”
- >You sigh, the weight of the moment lifting from you, like Atlas being given a long due reprieve.
- >”I understand that your are wrong, silly. It is my job to show you my love, how strong it is, and then you'll love me. I just know it!”
- >Your eyes go wide.
- >She giggled, “I asked Rainbow Dash to keep it a secret after I met you...I told her how I felt, and that I wasn't sure what to do.”
- >”She told me that you would probably like for me to guess your fetish, and that it wouldn't be easy!”
- >”So now...after so many months, I'm finally ready to test every fetish in existence until I guess yours!”.
- >Her joy was exuberant, it permeated the air, even you, in your shock and horror almost felt like smiling too, from her radiance alone.
- >The weight came crashing down again, gravity had reasserted itself, and you were being crushed.
- >Your ploy failed, utterly, and now you understood her words fully... this love is different, ineffable...powerful...eternal.
- >But you can't just give up.
- “Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash was wrong, not me!”
- >You must try your hardest. Convince her.
- “How would Rainbow know what I like, hmm? Everp0ny knows she has never had a very special somep0ny, and no would believe for a second if she said she did, let alone a colt, a MALE!”
- “Fluttershy, I'm not even a pony, I'm a Human male, I know I'm similar to you and your world in many ways, but I'm also very different, our love doesn't work the way your describing.”
- “If one person doesn't love the other,...it i-it just doesn't work! It can't work! It never does, and trying to force it will only hurt you...hurt the both of us.”
- >She nearly begins to speak.
- >You cut her off.
- “Fluttershy think about it...sweetie if you love me so much, why would you try and hurt me by forcing a love that can't be?”.
- >She shakes her head. “Rarity said you might say something like that”.
- >She told Rarity too?...
- >”Persistence, darling! Trust me, it's the only way to make him understand your serious.” She said, mimicking Rarity with terrifying authenticity.
- “No no no, Rarity...she doesn't m-”
- >This time, Fluttershy cuts YOU off.
- >”I told Pinkie Pie, too.”
- >Pinkie?...
- >”Pinkie said to 'have fun, and show him your fun, too!' Aren't I fun Anonymous, don't you think it's going to be fun to guess your fetish?”
- >Again, she mimics a friend to the T, it is horrifying.
- “But I don't want you to guess my fetish...”.
- >”And AppleJack said, 'Just tell em' the truth, the whole truth, and nothin' but the truth sugarcube!”.
- >Again with the ghastly parroting. You feel as if your sanity is slipping.
- >That left one p0ny, your most trusted friend in all of P0nyville.
- >Twilight Sparkle.
- >Your mentor, your guide, your friend. And someday, you hoped...
- >Your very special somep0ny.
- >Long had it been since you had shed any pretense of unseemliness in the idea of love between a pony and a human.
- >Love was all that mattered to you, and you loved Twilight, though You did your best to keep it unreadable.
- >You felt a horrible pit in your stomach. And you knew exactly why it was there.
- “D-did Twilight help you too?”.
- >”No, I couldn't tell Twilight. You lived with her, and she might have let it slip, t-then you would have known...and all my planning would have be ruined.”
- >She seems dejected again, as if the memory of a possible failure in her machinations alone was enough to bring her to sulking.
- >Seeing her saddened again, you hope to gain ground in the exchange. You straighten yourself up further, you have barely moved the whole time.
- “Why couldn't you have just told me back then, before all of this...this planning a-and foolishness?”
- >She shook her head, “Because then it wouldn't have been perfect...I needed to guess your fetish first.”
- “But why my fetish? Why is that so imp-portant to you?”
- >Smiling again, “I need to know everything about you honey, mama needs to know how to love her Anonymous the best way she can.”
- >”Your fetishes, your dreams...” She is moving closer to you now. “Your likes, your dislikes...”.
- >She is face to face with you, eyes locked into yours, she is totally expressionless for her next words.
- >”Your fears...”
- >You have had enough.
- >The thought of her having the strength and will power to bring you down here, leaving you bound in absolutely no form of restraints, and only just seeming to return in time for your awakening...
- >It almost seemed careless,...or perhaps as if she didn't believe you could escape if you wanted to.
- >Maybe it didn't have to be today that she revealed her love to you, and she didn't care if you left, or maybe outside this room, some form of sealed embrasure to the outside world kept you in.
- >It didn't matter.
- >YOU HAVE HAD ENOUGH.
- >Talking has gotten you nowhere, you have so far only served to stress yourself and give her more hope in the process.
- >You stand, looking down into her eyes, towering above her by feet, as you do with all p0nies.
- “I'm leaving, we don't have to tell anyone about this, just...leave me alone from now on, OK?”.
- >You walk around her, heading for the adjacent room.
- >”No.”
- >You feel something hit you. Hard.
- >Blackness takes you again.
