  1. >You are Anon
  2. >You have been sent to a distant planet by the Peoples of Earths Nations Interplanetary Society on an exploratory mission
  3. >The organization that sent you thinks there might be life on the distant world, and that the world might be suitable for human colonization
  4.
  5.
  6. >You sit at the control units at the front of your ship
  7. >Your memory is still a little foggy from waking from the cryo-chamber a few hours earlier
  8. >But you can clearly see why the ships computer has awakened you
  9. >Looking through the ships targeting screen you make out the small blue green world
  10. >all those years frozen in a tube in a box bound for the stars was finally reaching its culminating moment
  11. >"Preparing to enter orbit" the automated voice chimes out
  12. >"Good"
  13. >You are extremely happy that you barely have to do anything to get down to the planet, the ships computer mindlessly and efficiently does it for you
  14. >The planet swivels over to the side of the view screen as the ships gyroscopes and thrusters take over the task of proper orbital entry
  15. >It takes almost an hour for the ship to be ready for the next step
  16. >The hatch to Surface Descent Module 2 unlocks and opens
  17. >"It's about fucking time!"
  18. >You don't want to spend another minute on this tin can
  19. >You gladly climb in the decent craft
  20. >"Ready to launch after a suitable landing site is chosen" the computer says
  21. >You look around on a few landing sites the computer has recommended for you
  22. >"That looks about right"
  23. >You press the touch console to make your selection: site No. 221
  24. >'Confirm' the text on the console states
  25. >You key in the confirmation code
  26. >And like that you're off
  27. >The descent craft is going faster than you thought it would
  28. >You're already streaking through the clouds from your once high orbit
  29. >The parachute opens
  30. THUD
  31. >You hit your head on the control console due to the quick jolt, you are out cold
  32. >You come to in a dark forest
  33. >"Inventory damaged" the computer keeps droning
  34. >"Shit" that's one of the last things you want to hear, but it's better than being dead
  35. >You check the ships Inventory and find that your roving vehicle that came down with you is inoperable
  36. >Your survival supplies have been torched from a coolant cell that busted and caught fire
  37. >But your digital analysis and ground to ship communicator are in working order
  38. >"Well this is great..."
  39.
  40. >"Inventory damaged" the pods computer says again
  41. >"Ah yes, damaged, but not completely destroyed."
  42. >At least that's what you are desperately confiding your hope to
  43. >You open up the supply hatch
  44. >It doesn't really open, it just falls off
  45. >Lots of your supplies have been obliterated
  46. >You still have some food available to you though
  47. >A pack of Skittles, some dry crackers, and three containers of water have managed to survive
  48. >"Sweet heavens have mercy."
  49. >Your toilet paper has been torched
  50. >There is an electrical type gun that has managed to survive the crash though, along with a knife
  51. >"These might come in handy" you happily say to yourself
  52. >"Did you hear that?" you hear a voice out in the woods followed by some incomprehensible chatter
  53. >Maybe people have already settled here, after all you have been in cryo a long time and quite a bit may have changed, but it could be a rebellious group of peoples that has defected from Earths space organization
  54. >You hide in the wreckage of your ship just to be safe
  55. >"If my calculations are correct the falling star should have landed here." You hear the voices again
  56. >"Are you sure?" another voice says
  57.
  58. >You remember your basic combat training
  59. >You instinctively prepare your knife for a quick draw if you need to do some protective shanking
  60. >You also construct a makeshift stand for your electrical rifle to make taking a shot easier
  61. >The voices pipe up again
  62. >"Well... At least I think my calculations are correct."
  63. >"Oh wait, Twilight, I think I can see something, a slightly orangish glow through the thicket, see it dear?"
  64. >"Yes, that must be it! Be careful, it still might be hot."
  65. >You can see two creatures coming through the bushes
  66. >A purple creature and a white creature of the same kind
  67. >"Really?" you whisper to your self
  68. >"Tiny horses?"
  69. >You notice they have horns
  70. >"Tiny unicorns? No fucking way." you continue to whisper to yourself
  71. >"What is that?" the white one asks
  72. >"I have no idea, I've never read about anything like that... Or seen anything like it!" the purple one is confounded at the sight of your ship
  73. >"Those are some strange markings..."
  74. >They must be referring to the acronym for the space agency you represent that is engraved onto the side of the ship
  75.
  76. >Keeping your weapon sighted on them, you call out to them and ask "Friend or foe?"
  77. >"WHO'S THERE, COME ON OUT! SHOW YOURSELF!" the white one seems hostile
  78. >"Calm yourself Rarity." Now you know their names, by simple logic you now also know that the purple one must be Twilight
  79. >Twilight sits down near the cockpit of the pod; "We represent Equestria, the Elements of Harmony, and peace."
  80. >"I don't think it's awake Twilight, it's eyes are shut."
  81. >She must be referring to the closed weapon tubes on the bow of the pod, they sort of did look like eyelids when shut
  82. >They must also think that your voice was the ship; you can hide out just a little longer
  83. >"I represent Earth," you say "I'm on a mission of peace and scientific exploration."
  84. >You avoid telling them your main objective is to colonize their world
  85. >"The voice is coming from back here, Rarity."
  86. >"Oh, I knew that." your cover is blown
  87. >You emerge from your safe haven under the busted remains of the ship, with your gun at the ready and your knife in your pocket
  88. >But the one thing you are really prepared to use is your digital analysis device, it contains a plethora of information so you can answer any questions that might arise
  89.
  90. >"What are you?" Twilight asks
  91. >You lower your rifle
  92. >"Twilight, I am a human, I'm from a distant world called Earth." you reply, pointing your index finger up to the heavens "It's about there", you point to the region near the Orion nebula, which is still clearly visible from this world
  93. >"How do you know where your world is from here? Your... Ummm... Whatever that is crashed only an hour ago and that doesn't seem like enough time for you to get acquainted to our sky." The purple one is very logical
  94. >"That thing you refer to is my surface to ground pod, and I know what direction to point because I can see a familiar object in the sky that i know I passed through to get here." You make yourself seem as calm as possible, but what is really racing through your mind are terrible thoughts of being taken prisoner or the like
  95. >"Good point." Twilight says, Rarity is now just shunted behind her, she has no idea what to do
  96. >"I thought you said there would be Oviline in this." Rarity asks
  97. >"It's not a space rock, it's a ship." you don't like repeating yourself, but anything to keep things friendly is worth doing
  98. >"So what is the weather and pressure like around here, I need to keep my equipment... Well what's left of it safe."
  99. >"It should be fine, it's not due to rain anytime soon, we can bring it back to town for you if we need to." Twilight replies
  100. >"You want to bring him back with us? He's hideous, what if someone sees us with it." Rarity really comes off as an arrogant bitch, but you put that judgement aside
  101. >"Yes"
  102. >"Thank-you, might I ask what your technology is like in your civilization?" you ask
  103. >"Well we have some electronics, and we mainly try to keep things simple, typically just the basics of shelter. We mainly express our technological prowess through architecture." Twilight says very proudly
  104.
  105. >You pick up your Digital Analysis and Communications Device and speak into it
  106. >"DAC, take note, they have what seems to be a medieval type society, and have also advanced to the use of electronic devises." The device on your wrist blips a small pulse of blue light for confirmation
  107. >"Is that a magical type of device... umm...?" Twilight stammers
  108. >"I forgot to introduce my self, my name is Anon."
  109. >"And I'm Twilight, and this is..." you cut her off
  110. >"Rarity"
  111. >"He's psychic! HE CAN READ MINDS, QUICK HIDE YOURSELF!" Rarity freaks out and scampers off
  112. >"Wait! Come Back!" She yells out to her friend but she has no intention of coming back or responding
  113. >"Well... Anyways, this isn't magic, magic isn't real, it's electronics, it must be significantly more advanced then what you have." you state
  114. >"What do you mean magic isn't real? What about the six elements?" she asks
  115. >You immeadietly confused
  116. >"Six elements? There are actually 118 of them." you call up the periodic table as a hologram that is projected from the DAC.
  117. >She looks puzzled "That's not what I mean Anon."
  118. >"Well what you call magic must be what we call atoms. But there is another layer behind that too, there are 12 particles that make up the particles that make the atoms, as well as 6 mediator forces." you say, still unsure if she is getting what you are saying
  119. >"That must be it! The group of six, that must be the elements!" She bounces around you giddy with joy, in a childish manner
  120.
  121. >"Do you mean Graviton, The Higgs Field, The Gluon, The W&Z Gauge Bosons, and the Photon?" you stammer out "Are those your six elements?"
  122. >Twilight just sits down and puts her hoof to her chin and starts looking confused
  123. >"DAC, take note, modern logical psychological thinking seems underdeveloped in this society, this can possibly be attributed to ADHD or something similar." the DAC flashes in response to your message
  124. >"No, we don't all have ADHD Anon, you can't just make assumptions like that." she looks somewhat flustered
  125. >"The life here does not refute that modern logical psychological thinking seems underdeveloped in this society." your device takes note
  126. >"Well Anon, at any rate we should probably get you back to Ponyville..." you chuckle and cut her off
  127. >"Wha- Where?" you can't control yourself, it's to much Top Lel for any one person to endure
  128. >"P-Ponyville, I don't get why your laughing. Just follow me and grab what you can of your possessions, I'll send more friends out to recover the rest in the morning."
  129.
  130. >"Lead the way, and I shall follow." you say, now having increased confidence that these natives are actually of no harm to you
  131. >"Okay then, lets head out, don't be too loud tough." she seems very serious
  132. >"This is the Everfree Forest, there is allot of danger here, you don't want to bring too much attention to us."
  133. >"It looks like I picked a bad place to land when I dropped from the Evincar." your device takes note
  134. >"The what?" she asks
  135. >"Oh, the Evincar is the ship I have in orbit around your planet." you proudly say, even though you didn't actually do anything all that impressive to get it there
  136. >"Well if you are going to have something up in our night you will need to speak to Luna about that, she controls our night."
  137. >"Well you can't 'control' the night persay, that's gravaty's job, and sometimes electromagnetism." you say as the two of you trudge through the dense forest
  138. >"You are very naive Anon, you clearly are not that in tune with nature." she says as she quickens her pace, forcing you to speed up to follow her
  139. >"Well... It's, just that, never-mind" you are too tired to think straight, being in cryo for so long has sapped you of your strength
  140. >The two of you keep trudging through the woods
  141. >You are going as fast as you possibly can
  142. >"STOP" she halts on a dime and her horn begins to glow, you take note
  143. >"Species has bio-luminescancant capabilities."
  144. >"We can't cross here, this is a patch of poison joke." she backs up a bit "You don't want to touch it."
  145. >"Why?" you ask inquisitively
  146. >"Just trust me."
  147. >"This planet has a small blue flora called Poison Joke, may be similar to Poison Oak."
  148. >You think to yourself that all this note taking can be done later, as it looks like you may be here longer than you expected as you don't want to call on your second pod anytime soon.
  149. >But you decide to keep making notes as you don't want to miss anything that might jeopardize the goal of colonization.
  150. >"We need a solution, this patch is rather large." she sits and thinks
  151.
  152. >"Well, I can lay my jacket across it." you take off your coat that is over your biosuit
  153. >"No, don't do that, it's too risky." she really means it
  154. >"Well we can go around it, or go back the way you came in."
  155. >"Hmmmm... That might... well no, that may take to long, or be to dangerous, the Timber-wolves are probably along the path we came in on by now, we can't go that way."
  156. >She's really stubborn about this
  157. >"Well I can pick you up and carry you across, my biosuit will protect me."
  158. >"Actually that is a good idea, if you are 100% sure that you will be safe." she gets up and walks over to you
  159. >You pick her up and strap her to the belt system that your electrical rifle is secured to for extra protection in case she were to fall
  160. >"You ready?" you ask her
  161. >"Are you?" she says glancing at your rifle that pokes out above your own height
  162. >Without hesitation you begin to walk through the patch with her horn and the moonlight illuminating the way
  163. >"Just to let you know, don't touch any part of your suit that has contacted the Poison Joke, wait a few hours until the magic becomes inert."
  164. >Magic sure, you roll your eyes, but you still heed her warning
  165. >After a couple dozen steps you are across the patch
  166. >"Oh thank Celestia, we made it."
  167.
  168. >You unstrap the pony creature
  169. >Your rifle falls, you unstrapped the belts wrong
  170. >You unstrap the other belt going over your shoulder and set the little pony creature to the ground
  171. >She still might be unaware that it's a weapon
  172. >"Wait a moment." you say "I have to get my equipment."
  173. >"Sure thing." she says
  174. >You squat down being careful to keep your DAC out of Twilight's view
  175. >You type in a specimen retrieval command and a tiny spider like probe comes out of a compartment on your wristband
  176. >A small green laser points out of the compartment and you select the plant on your DAC
  177. >The spider probe runs off to collect samples and do a survey of its biology
  178. >You hear a howling noise
  179. >"TIMBER-WOLVES!" Twilight screams out intensely and you can see the wolves have a very woody and vegatative appearence
  180. >"We have to go, like RIGHT NOW!" she begins to run
  181. >You have to follow, leaving your drone behind but you a certain it will find its way back to you at some point
  182. >"Timber Wolves have great camouflage." the DAC takes note
  183. >"Yeah... defenitly." Twilight says running and panting
  184. >Your electronic spider probe is now far behind you
  185. >The wolves are getting closer, they are much faster and far more agile than either of you
  186.
  187. >"Anon try to keep up with me!" she says, already sounding exhausted "They teach that dying is bad where you are from right?"
  188. >"Yes." you stop running
  189. >"WHY ARE YOU STOPPING!?" she turns to look back at you, still running
  190. >You look at the trees as a method of escape
  191. >But you think to yourself that it may not work, if they are determined for a meal they might just sit out at the bottom and way for you to starve to death
  192. >You instinctively reach for your rifle
  193. >You charge up the guns capacitor banks and prepare to fire
  194. >The wolves are getting really close now
  195. >You can see their bright yellow eyes and their sharp teeth
  196. >They really did to look just like the foliage around you, it was uncanny
  197. >"ANON RUN!" she is still yelling at you
  198. >But you have different plans
  199. >Charging plates inside the guns meshy corrigated barrel are beggining to glow blue with electrical power
  200. >The small screen that serves as the guns sight flashes green, ready to fire
  201. >You take the shot
  202. >Al of the blue glow rushes to the tip and forms a small bright ball of energy that flies out at lightning speed
  203. >It hits the wolf
  204. >It explodes and splinters
  205. >A splinter embeds itself in your right shoulder
  206. >"What do you know, they really are made of wood. I never thought plants could evolve to be so similar to animals."
  207. >You pull out the small shard of wood and place it in your jacket pocket
  208. >"Anon, we have to go before it reassembles. And what is that?"
  209.
  210. >The other Timber-wolves scatter off
  211. >"Really Anon, what is that?" she walks up to you and inspects the barrel of your gun, the plates are still glowing, at some points they are white hot
  212. >"It's powerful magic staff, from my world." you say as you hold your weapon
  213. >"Well, lets keep going, we want to make it back quickly, to see if Rarity made it back." she says as she begins to trot off
  214. >"Wait, I wan't to see if it reassembles." you sit down with your gun at the ready
  215. >She just rolls her eyes and stands there
  216. >The both of you wait several minutes
  217. >"Odd, it should have reassembled by now..." she inspects a few splinters near her feet "What kind of magic is that?"
  218. >"Uhhh... The really powerful kind." you half ass the response
  219. >"We do need to get going." she says as she begins to trot again
  220. >You re-holster your gun and follow suit
  221.
  222. >You slow down a bit so your spider probe can catch up
  223. >"We are getting close Anon, shouldn't be much further now." her voice is full of exuberance
  224. >You look down at your DAC to check on your little scout, the probe isn't that far behind you, only about 15 meters
  225. >You point your laser at a tree on the path up ahead, yet behind Twilight so she wont see it
  226. >The little probe scuttles past you and climbs up it
  227. >You grab the tree with your hand and the probe whisks up your arm, then across your back and enters the little capsule on your other wrist band
  228. >Twilight stops at a ridge
  229. >"We are here!" she points her hoof out
  230. >You catch up to her and take a peek
  231. >"That looks... Peaceful." you take in the small dimly lit village that stretches at the bottom of the hills before you
