Twilight went down the main hallway, her usually white lab coat soaked in a wide variety of body fluids. She had had a tough day at work, trying to bring up a new form of life. She was to clone a person, she also had to base it off of someone, and the one she picked was her friend Norman. For a couple of moments we are going to see things from her point of view.
Being Twilight:
Today was a very interesting day for me and my research team, we had found a way to make a clone of Norman, however, this would mean that Norman would be in great pain and that take experiments would take more of him than we had first thought. Unless I wanted to lose a friend, I had to make a couple of changes to Norman’s gene structure.
“Adam, you need to come with me” I told him as I went by, he was an obedient colleague, always did as he was told.
“What’s the matter, Twi?” he asked as we got into the elevator
“You are good at gene structure and stuff, right?”
“That’s what my degree says anyway, why you ask” he said in a slightly worried manner
“I need you to study Norman’s gene and atom structure, as well as see if there is anything you can do to change it, could you do that?”
“I’ll look into it” he says, slightly relieved over the simple nature of it all
After parting our ways in the elevator I went to the cloning hall, and there he was, my friend Norman, completely oblivious to what was going on.
We had taken him in as our test rabbit; he hadn’t been complaining about being used in experiments, I had done it on him before, after all
This time was different though, as it could and probably would cost him his life, only to create a copy of himself
That’s why I brought Adam into this whole thing; his knowledge on genes and cells of the human body was almost too good to be true
Norman was out cold, because of security reasons obviously, if something was to go wrong, I’d rather have him sleeping than awake.
At least that is what I thought
When approaching the chamber he was in, I could hear a light beat on the door, as well as a faint “purple, you out there, where am I”
I don’t believe it, this isn’t good at all
I open the door to his chamber, but I can’t find anyone in it, even though I could swear I heard something
I look around everywhere, the walls, the ceiling, the floor, outside
Then I hear it again
“Purple, I’m right here, can’t you see me?”
The voice is right behind me now, but I can’t see anyone
Until I half squint and see a silhouette standing in front of me
“Norman?”
“Purple?”
