- >Day of the ball at Carousel Boutique.
- >Things have been a little slower than normal lately, not much work to do since everyone’s been getting ready for the big day.
- >You haven’t spoken to Rarity since that day, and it almost seems like she’s been avoiding you.
- >You’ve tried talking to the other ponies, but they all say roughly the same thing, that being that Rarity has just been focused on the ball.
- >Or more specifically it finally being over.
- >You can’t help but feel that her negative mood is somehow your fault.
- >Mostly because it’s entirely your fault.
- >You lay on your back, letting out a heavy sigh as you stare at your bedroom ceiling. Today was supposed to be your day to relax, but the thought of one of your friends being upset because of something you did.
- >Dammit.
- >Sitting up, you rub the back of your neck as you gaze over at your closet. Staring back at you is the first thing Rarity ever made you.
- >A white silk suit with purple shirt. The resemblance to it’s creator is not lost on you.
- >You walk over to it, taking the jacket off the hanger.
- >Rarity always said you looked rather dapper in it.
- >You think for a second, checking your watch for the time.
- >About an hour and a half to the ball.
- >Better late than never.
- >Arrive at Carousel Boutique, freshly showered, shaved and dressed to impress.
- >Looking around, a decent amount of people are here already, mingling, dancing and so on.
- >You spot Applejack and Twilight near the punch, and Dash is outside showing off. Of course.
- >Fluttershy and Pinkie are also accounted for. The only pony you can’t seem to find is Marshmallow Butt.
- >Making a little bit of small talk with some of the guests, you make your way to Rarity’s room.
- >Taking a deep breath, you give it a few knocks.
- >You hear a startled gasp inside, followed by heavy sigh. “I’ll be out in a minute.”
- >Your feel a pain in your chest as she talks, the sorrow in her voice quite apparent.
- >You carefully turn the handle, doing your best not to make any noise.
- >Slipping in, you’re immediately stunned by what you see.
- >There she is, the most beautiful thing you’ve seen since you’ve come to Ponyville.
- >The red dress, pearl necklace and tiara. Celestia have mercy.
- >And her hair. You don’t think you’ve ever seen-
- >You shake your head, remembering why you came here in the first place. Gotta stay on track.
- >Slowly and quietly, you close the door, creeping up behind her.
- >She doesn’t seem to notice you, and is instead looking out her window.
- >You quietly look out the window with her, the fragrant smell of her sweet perfume bringing a smile to your face.
- “Y’know, as beautiful as it is out there, I don’t think it could quite compare to you.”
- >Wow, really Anon? That’s really sappy, even when using it in reference to Rarity.
- >Her ears perk up as she abruptly turns around, a light hue of red covering her soft, white face. “A-Anon! B-But I thought that you were-”
- >You shrug, letting out a light sigh.
- “My bed can wait it’s turn, there’s somepony else that needed me more than it.”
- >A quivering smile crosses her face as her eyes start to well up with tears. “Anon, I-”
- >You raise a hand, cutting her off.
- “No, Rarity, there’s something I need to talk to you about first.”
- >She raises an eyebrow, more intrigued than confused.
- >You usher towards an empty set of chairs, pulling hers out for her.
- >Like a true gentleman.
- >Sitting across from her, you notice her eyes are still watery.
- >You pull out your handkerchief, another piece of the suit, embroidered with the traditional three diamonds that she tends to put on most of the stuff she makes you.
- >Reaching over, you slowly begin to wipe the tears from her cheeks.
- >Her cute face turns a shade redder.
