- >"I want you on your best behaviour for the princesses!"
 - >You nod.
 - >The princesses have invited you to dinner, in honor of you saving their lives.
 - >Twilight, the spoilsport that she is, wants everything to go smoothly.
 - >Whatever, you'll give her this one.
 - >You have breakfast, have a shower, change your clothes and pack an extra set just in case.
 - >Shortly thereafter, a carriage arrives.
 - >One of the ones pulled by pegasi, so it flies.
 - >You climb aboard after Twilight, and try your hardest not to fall asleep.
 - >Through infinite amounts of willpower and fortitude, you manage to remain more or less attentive throughout the entire ride.
 - >You land somewhere near the Canterlot Central Station.
 - >Exiting the skycarriage, you give a small bow and thank you to the drivers.
 - >They look much happier for it, and ride away to wherever they need to be.
 - >Twilight starts off in a direction, and you follow.
 - >At the sedate pace Twilight seems to insist on adhering to, it's quite easy to admire the architecture of Canterlot.
 - >As far as you're concerned Canterlot is, in a word, fancy.
 - >All the golds everywhere, the pointy top things to the tower that probably took a mason quite some time to put there, and the fact that the roads are dyed a different color.
 - >Fancy.
 - >At any rate, Twilight and you arrive at a sort of private suite in one of the more fancy parts of the fancy city that is Canterlot.
 - >Celestia has this place set aside for special visitors, apparently.
 - >You toss your meagre pile of clothes into a corner, and flop onto the bed.
 - >You stare at the ceiling and listen to the quiet bustle of the city around you for about half an hour, then Twilight manages to snap you from your reverie.
 - >She packed more stuff than you, and it took her this long to get it organised.
 - >"Let's go get lunch, shall we?"
 - >You nod, and leap off the bed.
 - >Landing on your feet, you make for the door, stopping to let Twilight through first.
 - >She knows where she's going, so you follow her.
 - >You tail Twilight through the twists and turns of Canterlot.
 - >The city seems to have woken up, with everypony going from here to there, there to here, and anywhere to everywhere.
 - >Fortunately, all the ponies seem to have distinct color schemes and mane styles, so you manage to not lose Twilight by looking for a lavender pony with straight hair whenever you lose sight of her.
 - >A few minutes of walking later, you find yourself at a doughnut shop.
 - >Not exactly your first choice for lunch, but it'll do.
 - >You sit in one of the booths lining the walls and let Twilight do the talking.
 - >A short while later, she approaches carrying two rather large doughnuts in her telekinesis.
 - >One is passed to you and the other she keeps to herself.
 - "Not exactly lunch food, is it?"
 - >"No, but I doubt you mind so much."
 - >She's right. You don't.
 - >You bite into your food, and listen to the world at large.
 - >The sound of the hustle and bustle of Canterlot, muffled by the walls of the shop, is rather relaxing.
 - >You continue to eat, and in far too short a time, you're done.
 - >You quietly wait for Twilight to finish eating.
 - >When she is, you both stand up at the same time, and exit the building.
 - >You give a quick wave and a smile to the pony at the counter as you leave, and notice him smiling in kind.
 - >Twilight continues out into the busy streets, and you follow.
 - >You notice that you're backtracking to the suite, so you forge ahead of Twilight.
 - >With your absurdly long legs powering you forwards you get back to the suite ages before Twilight.
 - >You curl up on the bed, and have a nap, letting the ambient noise of the city lull you to sleep.
 - >The sun raises slightly, then starts to lower in the opposite direction.
 - >Twilight returns, and goes and does her own thing.
 - >The sky turns different colors, and touches the horizon.
 - >Simultaneously, the moon starts to peek out from behind the opposite horizon.
 - >You are awoken by a hoof nudging you.
 - >"Wake up and get ready, the dinner is in an hour."
 - >You stretch, rub your eyes, and stop yourself from tapping your purple, unicorn shaped alarm clock on the head.
 - >You gather your clothes from the corner, and step into the bathroom.
 - >You have a shower, change your clothes and step out of the bathroom.
 - "How do I look?"
 - >"Exactly the same as you did before."
 - "Good. That's the look I was going for."
 - >Twilight steps into the bathroom, with a bundle of cloth in her telekinesis.
 - >You sit on the edge of the bed, and consider the nature of twiddling ones thumbs until Twilight exits the bathroom.
 - >She's in a dress of some sort. You aren't exactly a dressmaker, or a fashioneer or some sort of tailornaut, so you can't really give an opinion on it.
 - >It's sort of plain, you guess. Practical.
 - >"So, how do I look?"
 - "Alright, I guess."
 - >She gets a sort of irritated look on her face, but it passes quickly.
 - >Everything prepared, you both set out for the castle.
 - >As mentioned earlier, Twilight has a better idea of the layout of Canterlot, so you trail behind her.
 - >In a few minutes, you arrive at the gates, and are allowed in by a pair of guards.
 - >Then, you are escorted to a sort of waiting room, as there's still about five or so minutes until the dinner begins proper.
 - >You wait as patiently as you are able, Twilight sitting beside you.
 - >Then, all of a sudden, you are escorted into the dining room proper.
 - >It's a lot smaller than you would've expected from a monarch, but it fits.
 - >There's room for you, Twilight, Celestia and Luna, and a couple extra spaces without chairs in them.
 - >Ponies come in, serve food, and exit.
 - >You notice that your food is lacking in hay, grass and flowers, which are on the other ponies plate.
 - >You bring this up to Celestia.
 - >"I've learned about your dietary needs from letters that Twilight has sent me, and made sure you were catered for."
 - "Thank you, Celestia."
 - >Twilight shoots you a look briefly, but goes back to her food almost as soon as she starts.
 - >You eat your food. It's decent.
 - >You enjoy your meal in silence.
 - >Other conversations bounce around the table, but you only talk when spoken too, and even then in short sentences.
 - >You finish your meal, and politely wait for Twilight to finish hers.
 - >Eventually, she does. Both you and her pardon yourselves at the same time, and let yourselves out.
 - >The two of you wander back to the suite in the dead of night.
 - >The sound of business is still there, but much quieter, as one would expect.
 - >When you get back to the suite, you curl up in a corner and go to sleep.
 - >But before you finally slip away into dreamland, you tell Twilight something.
 - "Y'know what, Twilight? Today was pretty alright."
