Kimine said as she stood up from her desk fists raised in victory at The Darkness. After spending many hours, days, weeks working on her project she was finally ready to upload her latest creation to a drive, and mail it to her Father in New York. Exhausted both in body, spirit, Kimine clawed her way into her bed. Kicking, and contorting to get comfortable before finally settling into a slumbering position. Malcontent with her inability to sleep Kimine sought out her computers help. Putting on her headphones, and opening a Google search page Kimine spoke, "Find something that'll put me to sleep." she said addressing her desktop. Settling back into her bed the screen of her computer went dark as soothing noises, and mesmerizing chanting began to ring around her head, until finally her stubborn will broke, and she passed into the aether.           Diamonds, millions of diamonds, sharp glistening stars against an ever expansive nightscape. Kimine lay slumpt against her arm gazing down into a starry abyss. Kimine sat up rubbing the soreness away from her arm, looking at what she sat upon bright as if it'd been forged from the very stars she gazed upon, Kimine looked at the golden seat upon which she now sat. Above her was an expanding ziggurut of gold which connected the throne to the plane above dangling her over the sea of stars. Searching around the throne she quickly found the book. Lifting the dusty tomb up, and onto her lap Kimine began flicking through the pages, cautious of their apparently fragility.           Mystic beasts, enchanting lands, and fantastical peoples filled the pages of the tomb. Fairy tales, expansive epics, and bewildering stories that seemed to unwind into perfect clarity. Walls of text brimmed the pages of the book on, and on it seemed to go passing from story to story each one faster then the last, until finally Kimine paused, the page beheld not what she'd seen of the previous. Not of a impenetrable fortress of text, not a dark forest of entangled wordplay but of a picture. A picture that seemed to speak, filling Kimine's mind with visions, and places, and people more amazing then she could possibly have dreamed. The picture depicted a girl, a young girl on a hill, a hill which was surrounded by ruins, ruins which while desolate, came to clarity when gazed upon with the realization that life thrived. Vines stretch, plants grew, and flora bloomed within the cracks of the ruins, and within the ruins, even where no sunlight could reach. Living despite the absolute hardship of growing in a dark shell. A sign that these were ruins that said a conflict which would destroy everything had been put to rest, and that the life which had been was returning, good was coming back slowly, and the darkness wasn't strong enough to stop it.                     Suddenly aware Kimine stood on the hill forced deeper into her own dreamings. Looking down on herself she was the stark image of the girl from the book. Still looking down on herself, rainbow hair waving in the breeze Kimine began to make her way down to the foot of the hill. Roots, and vines cracked the soft dirt of the hillside, dumbly maneuvering down the hill her foot caught on a root sending her tumbling down the hill. More quickly then she'd hoped a sheer drop came into few as she barreled down the hill towards it. Unable to stop with her frail young form Kimine clamped her eyelids shut as she barreled over the edge           To her continued surprise Kimine did not fall, no wind passed through her hair, and no sharp rocks came up to strike her. Hesitantly peeking an eye open Kimine looked around, apparently she'd been dangling in the air gently. Becoming suddenly aware of her back Kimine realized that she bore a pair of translucent wings, mindlessly beating against the air currents, holding her aloft. Testing her new appendages Kimine floated forward, gaining speed she curved backwards preforming a small aerial flip.           Hours she searched, with perception abound. But not one sign of exit was to be found. Spires, and peaks, did grace her view. Lost, and re-found, old, and some new. Through the dark tangles of thorned branch abound. Did grace her ears, a heated great sound. Like a trapped creature so scared, not proud. Through the Dark forest she flew so low to the ground. A Tiger's Den she did find, here she had found the sound. Valiant, and brave the Tigress did stand, bearing much strength, so tall, so grand. But the Terror she faced was not of our land. An accursed wicked shadow, bearing cruel tearing hands. Like a tall streak of light, the Tigress leaped with great Might. Alas to be stricken with holes, by the shaded hand's corporeal strike. Dealt a blow both body, and mind. Kimine flew to the branches of the trees she wasted no time. The greatest thorn of the branch she did find. A sharp razor edge, a sword of the mind. With ichor in her veins, her heart did beat. With a quick quick plan she was off with great speed. Not building courage for it beat, still there, with a great righteous cleave the Shadow found his hands, where no longer there.       With spite in her hands, she cast it aside, into a deep crevice. The only sword she needed was her mind.
