All Mediocre Things...

The increasingly apathetic and often negative reactions to my recent stories have left me reevaluating what it is I have been doing.  Although a few of my older pieces still seem to have the interest of a few readers, it has become more and more clear to me that nothing I have written in quite some time has been truly enjoyed by anyone.  A few polite, “I liked it,” and, “At least he’s trying,” posts have convinced me that, like most of my characters, I, and those few people still reading, have been simply going through the motions.

 

Considering that I have never been able to “enjoy” my own so-called-erotic writing in the intended manner (incidentally the most likely cause of my over long pre-smut segments), my attention always being focused on mechanical or other behind the scenes issues, I am having considerable difficulty in justifying the time and effort I have been putting into writing these fics.  I am a fairly slow writer by nature, and each story I write represents many, many hours of focused effort that seems to be doing little more than wasting my time and yours.

 

With that in mind… I do believe it is time for me to retire.  I enjoy our time together enough to continue lurking the threads, and if something strikes my enough to tackle it I may post a story from time to time, but for all intents and purposes you may as well consider me inactive at this point.

 

Thank you for all you kind words, critique, and interest over these past five months; I will ever remember these days fondly.
