  1. >"Oh...oh my!"
  2. >Damn it! Did the scent of fresh blood attract more predators?
  3. >Rabbit still securely in your teeth, you twist around ready to kill whatever had the guts to sneak up on you while you ate.
  4. >Your vision is greeted with the sight of what appeared to be a...yellow...horse?
  5. >You shake your head, making sure that your eyes aren't deceiving you.
  6. >You'd seen (and ate) plenty of horses in your lifetime.
  7. >But never had you seen such a bright pastel colored one.
  8. >And were those...wings? What kind of horse had wings?
  9. >That rabbit couldn't have been tainted somehow could it?
  10. >The paranoia begins to overflow, so much so that you don't notice the...thing trying to talk to you.
  11. >"Um I'm sorry its just th-"
  12. >Wait...it TALKS? My god, when was the last time you heard something talk...IN ENGLISH.
  13. >"And I didn't mean to disturb you, but-"
  14. >How long has it been...years...decades?
  15. >You can't remember the last time you spoke with actual words let alone held an actual conversation.
  16. >"Its just that I've never seen a creature like you before and-"
  17. >You can understand what it's saying perfectly, but communicating would be almost impossible for you.
  18. >There's no way it would understand the gibberish you call language now...
  19. >You suddenly realize the yellow thing has been slowly flapping its wings and coming closer to you.
  20. >Quickly placing whats left of the rabbit down, you snarl in anger warning it not to approach any further.
  21. >It stops for a short while, seemingly scared of the blood covering your face.
  22. >But that lasts for but a moment.
  23. >Steeling itself, it begins again albeit even slower than before if that was even possible.
  24. >For a moment you wonder if you would be better off to just flee, but turning your back on another creature could mean death out here.
  25. >A risk you couldn't take.
  26. >You growl as loud as possible, trying to make it clear that its not welcome.
  27. >"It's o-ok n-n-now, p-p-please don't be scared."
  28. >Inching ever closer, she reaches out with a single hoof.
  29. >Enough was enough
  30. >A single second was all it took
  31. >With lightning reflexes, your teeth had sunken into its outstretched leg.
  32. >You don't move, like a pitbull you keep it still in your jaw's vice grip.
  33. >Taking the moment, you finally focus on its finer details.
  34. >It had an unnatural bright pink mane, high pitched voice, and an odd scent that decided that she must be female.
  35. >She didn't dare move, but the pain must be unbearable.
  36. >Your teeth hadn't crushed the bone, but she was most certainly bleeding.
  37. >You stared with unguided anger into her eyes as she began to tear up.
  38. >She was holding back cries of pain
  39. >You could feel it every time she shivered.
  40. >Who knows how long the two of you just stared at each other.
  41. >But finally the silence was broken.
  42. >"i-i-i'm s-s-sorry"
  43. >Something inside you couldn't bear hearing that.
  44. >You weren't stupid.
  45. >As wild and crazy as you might be you knew better than to kill a fellow sentient creature.
  46. >They weren't prey.
  47. >No matter how...delicious they might be.
  48. >You only killed those that posed a threat to you.
  49. >Its just that till now...they've always been a threat.
  50. >After taking a minute to think about it, you gently let her go.
  51. >She looks at you in surprise, but that doesn't matter.
  52. >Your attention is still on her leg.
  53. >Its continuing to bleed, though very lightly.
  54. >She's nursing it against her chest trying to relieve the pain.
  55. >You kneel down and gently grasp her hoof with your hand instead this time.
  56. >Ignoring her confusion, you begin licking the wound clean.
  57. >She winces from the stinging sensation.
  58. >Odd.. her blood tastes sweet, much sweeter than the rabbit you were eating just moments ago in fact.
  59. >"T-thank you, its alright now"
  60. >You let go of her hoof, she'll have to bandage it herself later.
  61. >"When I spotted you for the first time I was very surprised."
  62. >You reply with a grunt and begin examining her more thoroughly.
  63. >"I'd never seen something like you before."
  64. >Ignoring her rambling you begin sniffing every inch of her much like a dog would.
  65. >Her body smells similar to honey, the scent getting stronger the closer you get to her flank.
  66. >When you follow the scent closer you notice what seems to be....a tattoo of 3 butterflies?
  67. >"And I said to myself "You're gonna go welcome him right now missy""
  68. >"Making friends can be scary sometimes..."
  69. >Her mane smells like various flowers.
  70. >You stick your nose into it and take a strong breath, etching it permanently into your brain.
  71. >Her tail tickles you and makes you sneeze.
  72. >She giggles at that.
  73. >"But you're just a big old softy after all aren't you"
  74. >Satisfied you pull away from her.
  75. >She smelled interesting, but not quite what you're looking for in a mate.
  76. >After a while she notices you haven't said a word and have been staring at her for quite sometime.
  77. >"Um I don't mean to be rude but...you...do understand what I'm saying don't you?"
  78. >A solid nod is the only answer you give her.
  79. >"Oh thank goodness! For a while I thought I was going crazy again."
  80. >You don't offer any reply to her statement.
  81. >"Well...then how about this! We can come to my cottage, its not to far from here."
  82. >"You can meet all my other friends too, oh they'd be so exci-"
  83. >You cut her off, putting an open palm towards her face.
  84. >Shaking your head back and forth you reach down to grab the leftovers of your rabbit.
  85. >You would never forget to take your meal with you.
  86. >Who would have thought such a small morsel would end up being so much trouble.
  87. >As you turn around to head home you hear a squeak from behind you.
  88. >"w-Wait! M-m-my name's Fluttershy! What's yours?"
  89. >With a throaty, earthly, primal voice you groan.
  90. AnOoNnN
  91. >With a loud snort you proceed to head home.
