- "Fluffy Research"
- 12/?
- >You are Dylan, a freelance researcher, mid 20’s, brown hair, lazy attitude and you’re a complete nerd.
- >You just got hired by the WWF to study a new type of “animal” that's becoming a problem worldwide.
- >They call it a "Fluffy pony"
- >you’ve never heard of such a thing and took the case out of curiosity.
- >Man was that a stupid idea, you had no idea working with them would be this hard.
- >You’re currently walking back to your research station, the cold mountain winds howling around you, giving it all an eerie feel to it.
- >The winds pushes you back a few steps now and then, but you soldier on, you have to reach the station before the fluffy in your hands dies from the cold or the blood it’s loosing.
- >Your mind is split on the matter, one side is for your little rescue of Prissy the milk thief, but the other is strongly against it, prissy killed Purple’s mother after all.
- >It’s just that leaving him there would be cruel and good at the same time, but more importantly, he’s too valuable science vise to just let die.
- >Milk stealing fluffies are known to certain scientist studying fluffies, but none have been found and studied so far.
- From what you’ve been able to look into, milk stealing fluffies are better at hiding than their other kin, making it hard to study them.
- >Your plans for prissy are straight and simple really; fix him up so he doesn’t die and them ship him off to the lab where your coworkers will study him until the day he dies.
- >It’s kind of fair when you think about it, this way he won’t get a quick “easy” death, he’ll spend his remaining time on earth being prodded and studied by scientist.
- >You’ll have to tell them that you don’t want them treating prissy like the other fluffies in the lab, the conditions are way better than the wild and thus if he’s treated the same way as the others in the lab you’d be giving him a sort of heaven.
- >After walking for what feels like hours you finally reach the entrance and walk inside again, working quickly you plop prissy down on your worktable and get to work fixing his bleeding legs.
- >It takes a good 20 min to fix them back up again, if all goes well prissy will make a full recovery, you hope this’ll be the case since a damaged limping milk thief won’t do much good in the tests your lab friends will put him through.
- >You look prissy over again and check his pulse, it’s faint at best, but he’s still alive.
- >Satisfied to some extent that Prissy will live, you pick him up and place his limp body into a cage you have stored in the station, don’t want him waking up and making a dash for it now do we?
- >Done with prissy for now, you walk away and sit down in your chair and look over the herd taking mental notes on the situation.
- >Most of the herd is doing their normal things, eating drinking, playing and so forth, however there is a few exceptions.
- >Most noticeable here would be Purple, Plum, Aurora and the brown stallion.
- >They’re all sitting around the limp body of Purple’s mom, their faces clearly tainted by tears, hugging each other softly as they mourn.
- >Purple is the worst of the four, she’s hardly moved at all since the incident, just sitting there in silence crying as she randomly hugs the body of her mother.
- >You admire the others attempts at cheering her up through hugs, but it doesn’t work that well from what you’re seeing, she’ll hopefully recover from the loss and go back to the herd again, but nothing is certain.
- >There’s also another side to her grief and sadness, she let the fluffy that killed her mother join the herd, she made it so that he was able to steal the dam’s milk, and it’s all her fault.
- >All you can hope for is that she realizes there’s nothing she could have done to prevent this, Nature takes it course, be it sad or good.
- >There’s nothing to be done at the moment so you walk away from the monitor and call up your friends at the lab instead.
- >”Hey man, how’s stuff going up up on the mountain?” Your best friend Roger speaks as he answers the phone.
- >”Hey Roge’, I have a slight situation up here and need the help of the guys at the lab for a while if possible” You casually reply.
- >”Sure man, what’s the problem? I’m sure we’ll handle it somehow.” He
- >”ok, long story short: In currently sitting up here with a barely alive milk thief that was caught by the herd, do you think you’d be able to get up her and take him back to the lab for further studies?” You ask him.
- >”A milk thief you say? I’ll be up there in an hour or so.” Roger replies quickly before he hangs up on you.
- >All right, you have about an hour before he gets here to take prissy off your hands, time to check he’s still alive.
- >Wasting no time, you quickly walk over to the cage and look inside it and to your surprise you find yourself starting right into Prissy’s half open eyes.
- >”W… W..hea am pwissy?” He speaks up with a hoarse voice while looking around the room.
- >You ignore him completely and open the cage door, pick him up and plop him down on your worktable again.
- >”Owwies!” prissy shouts as you put him down on the table, he’s either in great pain or he’s faking it to get some sympathy.
- >To avoid your mind brewing up ways to hurt him without leaving any marks, you begin your proper physical examination of his damaged body.
- >It’s a wreck to say the least, it’s a wonder his legs are holding together, your handiwork helped, but the chances of him making a full recover are slim indeed.
- >To at least get some revenge you treat his rear end rougher than the rest of his body, squeezing his genitalia harder than needed and “missing” with the thermometer a few times.
- >Your will to kill this fluffy in ways unimaginable to most humans is strong, but you just can’t, his sorry broken ass is too valuable.
- >Finally done with the examination, you lift him up and put him down into the fenced pen where Leeroy and the other fluffies live, they look at you as you put prissy in.
- >”New fween fo Leewoy and fwuffies? Gif huggies an nummies?” Leeroy asks curiously.
- >”Yes Leeroy, I want you and the other fluffies to help him the best you can, but remember that he has terrible owwies and can’t move. So be gentle now.” You reply in a fatherly tone, making sure that Leeroy or the others don’t end up harming Prissy further.
- >”Hewwo, fwuffy is Leewoy an dis ota fwuffies. Wha yu’ name? Daddhe sa’ yu haf wowst owwies, wan huggies?” Leeroy cheerfully asks Prissy, showing off the kind nature you love.
- >”is Pwissy, wan nummies an huggies…” Prissy gently speaks up, your surprised actually, mere hours ago he was hitting fluffies and talking like he owned the place, now he’s humble and quiet.
- >Leeroy and the other fluffies however don’t know this and quickly walk over and hug prissy while one of the mares tries to feed him some of their food.
- >Prissy is reluctant at first, but a short demonstration from the mare later he’s chugging the food down.
- >You just sit there and watch the other fluffies do what they can for Prissy, about an hour later Roger arrives at the station.
- >”Hey man, I’m here to collect the fluffy you talked about on the phone, we’ll have to hurry it up though, there’s a blizzard coming soon.” He quickly talks as you take him into the station.
- >”Sure, he’s right over there getting some help from the fluffies I got delivered from that company in Michigan.
- >”All right, I’ll be on my way shortly then. Hey there little guy, want to go home to a new house and warm food?” Roger replies as he walks over to prissy and picks him up gently.
- >”I have to warn you though, the ferals made quite a mess of him, all his legs are broken and his hip is badly damaged, so he’ll need help the first month or so.” You speak up as Roger put’s prissy into a padded fluffy cage.
- >”Ok, sure thing. We’ll do our best and tell you how he’s doing later on, see ya later Dylan.” Roger answers as he walks over to the door and opens it, you wish him farewell and sends him on his way.
- >With prissy gone you walk over to the chair and sit down to watch the herd again, can’t leave them for too long during the winter.
