  1. >You are Fluttershy.
  2. >Anon is a Human child that lives in Ponyville.
  3. >When he had first come to Equestria, you had taken an immediate interest in him.
  4. >So badly, you had wanted Anon to stay with you since he had no home.
  5. >But it was decided that he would live with Twilight Sparkle.
  6. >Because she gets everything she wants.
  7. >That was okay though.
  8. >You could visit him anytime you wanted.
  9. >And you did.
  10. >Every day.
  11. >It hit you one night that you had fallen in love with Anon.
  12. >He was so funny and cute and exotic.
  13. >This of course was before you learned that Anon
  14. >Was only nine years old.
  15. >A child.
  16. >Less than half your age.
  17. >Even though he was about your size and mature for his age, he was still just a child.
  18. >A year younger than Spike.
  19. >This was a devastating blow to your small amount of confidence.
  20. >For weeks you had fallen for Anon.
  21. >Become obsessed with him.
  22. >And all of that was for nothing.
  23. >He was just a little boy...
  24.
  25.
  26. >It had been a few days since you last saw Anon.
  27. >You had spoken to the therapist pony to try making sense of these new feelings.
  28. >She offered many solutions and insights.
  29. >Some helped, some went unheard.
  30. >Though one thing did come to mind.
  31. >And that's how you ended up in the park.
  32.
  33. >You sit on a bench, looking this way and that.
  34. >There are a lot of ponies at the park enjoying their day.
  35. >Some with families, some with friends.
  36. >You look at the playground and see a young colt tempting a squirrel with a peanut.
  37. >The squirrel hops over and snatches the nut, then runs away.
  38. >The colt looks happy and looks around for more animals.
  39. >Perfect.
  40. >You fly over and inch toward the young one.
  41. "Um, e-e-excuse me."
  42. >The colt looks at you, "hi?"
  43. >You nudge a hoof in the squirrel's direction.
  44. "I have plenty of f-f-furry critters around my house that you can play with... If that's alright with you?"
  45. >He looks excited.
  46. >A big confidence booster.
  47. >"I can do that?!"
  48. >You nod.
  49. "If it's o-okay with your parents."
  50.
  51. >The little colt followed you back to your cottage.
  52. >His parents were happy that the Element of Kindness was watching their child.
  53. >Your guts twist.
  54. >The colt runs around playing with a group of ferrets while you watch from your porch.
  55. >You rest your head on the railing and sigh.
  56. >It's easy to forget about Anon with this little one rolling around your yard.
  57. >Your therapist was pretty good.
  58.
  59. -"It could be that you have a repressed motherly instinct that has grown more since spending time with Anon."
  60.
  61. >She was so nice to never hint that your predicament was vulgar.
  62. >Now you can see Anon's face.
  63. >He lost a tooth and his smile was so precious.
  64. >You shake your head.
  65. >He's better off with Twilight.
  66. >Pretty, perfect Twilight.
  67. >The colt runs over to you.
  68. >"Mrs. Fluttershy! There's a bear over there with a rabbit on his head!"
  69. >You smile.
  70. >"They're good friends... Um, do you h-have many friends?"
  71. >Your guts knot.
  72. >He nods quickly, "I have LOTS of friends!"
  73. >You rub your hooves together and swallow a lump in your throat.
  74. "If, I-I-I-If they want to p-play with the critters, um... You can bring them o-o-over."
  75.
  76.
  77. >The next day, the colt brings four of his friends over to your cottage.
  78. >They all run around your house, playing with your animals.
  79. >You watch them from the couch.
  80. >For lunch, you make them sandwiches.
  81. >At noon, they take a nap on the floor.
  82. >You cover them with blankets.
  83. >Watch them sleep peacefully.
  84. >Your guts writhe.
  85. >A gentle hoof caresses a cheek.
  86. >Moves across the neck.
  87. >Down the side to an unmarked flank.
  88. >You bite your lip
  89. >And fly to your room.
  90. >Ice cold water and soap flows over your hooves as you cry and shiver.
  91.
  92.
  93. >More days pass.
  94. >It has been a long time since you have seen Anon.
  95. >And it's okay.
  96. >Every day, a group of colts come to your house to play with all of your critter friends.
  97. >The young colt who first visited you is your favorite.
  98. >He's always full of energy, nice to everyone and extremely cute.
  99. >You have even given him a nickname that he likes.
  100. >Yesterday he asked if he could have a sleepover with all the animals.
  101. >That made your guts do flips.
  102. >Today, as you watch a pile of colts wrestle, he runs over to you.
  103. >"Mrs. Fluttershy! Guess what?! My mom said I could stay here and sleep over with the animals tonight!"
  104. >The joy on his face makes you want to squeeze him against you.
  105. >You grin and rub behind his ear.
  106. "That's wonderful, Anon."
  107. >He runs back to his friends.
  108. >You watch his short tail swish.
  109. >Tears cloud your vision.
  110. >It was so nice of your therapist to hint that your thoughts were vulgar.
  111. >You fly inside to fill the tub with ice cold water for a long bath.
  112.
