- It had only been twenty minutes since I left the apartment chasing after her. She had far too much of a lead and I lost sight of her after the first corner. There were people who called out after me but I paid them no mind. In the hot sun my feet soon became sore and my back ached from the clawing. I was far from giving up but I needed to add more to my outfit before continuing my pursuit. I returned to the apartment and found the front door closed. Thankfully it was unlocked and I opened the door seeing the box that had been dropped sitting on the kitchen counter. The bolts of cloth were rolled up neatly and set against the wall. I dashed into my room and threw on a pair of old sneakers and a button up shirt. After grabbing my keys, wallet and phone I checked and couldn't find Chupa. She had cleaned up which was very unlike her then left. I locked the door behind me and ran down to my car.
- I had absolutely no idea where Chiva would go. The only place I could think of right now was the market but that had closed nearly an hour ago. I drove there anyways but there was no sight of her or anyone else. The sun was an hour from setting and I racked my brain trying to figure out the next move. Her Uncle might have known something so I drove to his place. He and the family did not even know she was gone. He offered to help me search but I declined. I wanted to be the one to find her and... do what? Apologize for being a heartbeat away from entering her friend? I drummed my fingers on the steering wheel then dialed her number. The phone rang but did not pick up.
- I should feel bad, I should feel guilty about what I had done yet I did not. Hurting her was the last thing I wanted to do but there was no guilt for what I had almost done with Chupa. I could not explain that at the moment. There was nothing I wanted more in that half second before we were found then to pound her until I came while she used her claws on me. Even Chiva's appearance had not really quelled that desire within me. It caused me a moments hesitation but I still felt strongly that I wanted Chupa. I wanted her to howl and beg me to go harder while I pulled on her tail and bit into her neck. This was a wilder side of me I had not really known was there. It frightened me yet when I thought about what we could have done back there on the carpet I became so aroused that I had to pull over on the side of the road.
- There had to be something wrong with me. Chiva was the woman that I loved and I wanted to make sweet love to. I wanted to be gentle and kind, attentive to her needs. Chupa was the friend that was under my stewardship. I wanted to make her sore and tear apart the apartment with our rutting. I slammed my fist into the steering wheel and shook my head in an attempt to clear it. I should feel some kind of guilt. Some kind of remorse. There was no malice in me. There was no wanting to make Chiva jealous for not fulfilling my carnal desires. There was only the creeping loneliness in my heart. At the time I thought I may have lost both of them. I sat on the side of the road for a good half an hour until after the sun sat. My belly rumbled and I considered getting something to eat. Driving towards the nearest chicken joint I happened to see a girl with white hair sitting on a swing in a park. From this distance I couldn't be sure if it was her or not but there weren't many women with white hair in a park after dark in the city. I parked the car and ran across the grass. It was definitely her, no one else had those horns and legs. Separating the lawn from the swings was a row of bushes and I moved around them approaching Chiva from her back. Suddenly without warning a pair of hands shot out and pulled me back. I stumbled and fell hard to the ground. The assailant turned me face down in the dirt and I felt a sharp nip at the tip of my ear. The all too familiar burning sensation started spreading from my ear and I tried to fight against it but there was no escaping the venom that was now pumping through my veins. My body shut down and I lay on the dirt paralyzed.
- With a soft chuckle I could feel a tongue caressing the bit on my ear. Her hot breath sent shivers through my body and she turned me just enough so that I could see Chiva on the swings ten yards away. I had been dragged under the bushes and Chupa was laying on top of me with her hands moving my arms to rest under my head. She positioned my arms so that I could rest my head on them. She was being considerate even though she just injected me with her venom a second time.
- “I can't have you ruining this right now.” She spoke in a breathy whisper. “You need to sit here like a good boy and watch. Listen to everything and when you can move again go home Grab that flute of yours and start playing it. Do it and you'll see us both again. If you don't... we won't be around. I only gave you a small dose this time.”
- Her words and tone were unlike anything I'd heard from her before. She was very clear and assertive. This was not the Chupa I thought I knew. This was someone with clear purpose. She kissed the side of my cheek then pushed herself off of my back. After brushing away the dirt from her clothing she walked to the swing set and sat down in a swing next to Chiva. The Satyr turned her head and looked at her childhood friend. I could see tears had been running down her cheek. She looked forward once more and kicked her hooves idly.
- “If you don't claim him I will.” Chupa wrapped her clawed fingers around the chains.
- “Wasn’t that you claiming him when I walked in?” Chiva sniffled.
- “That was me forcing your hand. You dance around the main issue so much that its starting to drive me nuts. Imagine how he feels. I know you want to be with him. You know you want to be with him. So be with him. Stop acting like a sullen girl and make the choice.”
- “Will he still love me after everything?” Chiva looked back to her.
- “He's not rejected you even after he caught us in a moment. He won't reject you after you tell him everything. After you tell him why you are really here and why you found him. After you tell him why I'm here.”
- “I can't tell him. He's too innocent for any of this. He's that knight I've been looking for but he's so far removed from what's happening and I don't want to drag him into it.”
- “If you don't then I will. Chivarosa he loves you. You have to tell him.” She kicked her feet and started swinging.
- “Its not easy. Searching for years and finally finding him here.”
- “You remember what Bacchus said.” She stopped swinging and stood.
- “I remember.” Chiva stood also.
- “Then lets go get some food.” Chupa held a folded stack of bills in her hand.
- The two of the moved off from the swing set and I was left under the bushes for another few minutes until I could move again. It was slow going at first until all my functions returned then I went back to the car and sat behind the wheel. My stomach rumbled again and I reached for my wallet. Upon opening it I found that the cash was gone. I had only kept about fifteen dollars in cash on me and Chupa had lifted it while she had me pinned to the ground. I drove home running what the two of them had said through my mind. There was not much sense to be made of it. Chupa... was... completely different than she had been that morning. I had thought of her more as a puppy but now she had shown herself to be a wolf.
- I arrived back home and brought the ocarina with me from the car. The apartment was empty and I helped myself to an apple before sitting down on the couch and holding the small flute in my hand. She had told me to play it. A thousand questions went through my mind. Why should I play it? Why wouldn't they come back if I did not? So many unanswerable questions racing through my brain that I started to get a headache. I took a deep breath then started to play an easy and soft song on the Ocarina. The music always calmed me and within no time I was playing completely by feel. The notes lingered sweetly on the air and echoed around the apartment. I moved into several songs each of them blending seamlessly into the other. It was only a small instrument yet it poured out all of my soul in each of the notes. I had not noticed the door open. I had my eyes closed as I swayed with the music I was producing. I had not heard either of them come in and sit down across from me. I was lost in the songs until on the final note minutes later I removed my lips from the ocarina and opened my eyes. My beautiful Satyr was sitting in the cushioned chair directly across from me. The ravishing Wolf was sitting cross legged on the floor next to her. Both of them were looking to me and I sat the ocarina down on my lap.
- “I have something I must confess.” Chiva began her hands shaking.
- “Chivarosa is the heir to a kingdom high in the Peruvian mountains. The princess has chosen you as her consort.” Chupa blurted out quickly.
- “CHUPACABRA!” Chiva shouted in disbelief and whipped her head towards Chupa.
- “Ok ok... that's not the truth at all but the mood was too dark.” Chupa stretched her arms and grinned.
- “Just be quiet for a moment.” Chiva chided her friend then looked back to me. “I've not been entirely honest with you. I'm... you think you may have found me but the truth is I've found you.”
- “Wait...” I started but she cut me off.
- “Please let me finish with this. Its hard enough without interruptions.” She took a deep breath. “I'm a priestess of Bacchus. I told you before that he's the god we pray to as Satyrs but he's more than just a god. Well he's not a god but he has lived a long time. He exists and we communicate directly with him. I asked him to find me a man worth of my love, someone who I could fully commit myself to and someone who would protect me in my task. He agreed but there was a condition.”
- “I was that condition.” Chupa laughed and leaned forward. “Chivarosa's too mild about it. Her diety told her that I had to come along.”
- “I was getting to that... I said be quiet.” She shook her head. “Chupacabra was the condition. She is as much of my life as you are. The three of us... we... can't... exist without each other. I don't know all the details but this was decided long before any of us met. Long before Chupa and I ever became acquainted.”
- “Hold on.” I stood up from the couch. “You're saying that your god found me and what... all three of us are supposed to be together?”
- “Yes. I don't know if you believe in any of it but we were destined to be together. I love you. I love Chupa.” Chiva stood and took my hands.
- “I love both of you also but this is getting far too sappy for me.” She stood and pushed me back down on the couch. “You need to hear the rest of it. I'm out of here for now.”
- Chupa left the apartment and I watched her go until Chiva took my hands again. She had knelt down in front of me and was looking up into my eyes with her expression soft and beautiful. I sat up and she lowered her head then moved to embrace me. The tips of her horns hit my ribs and I grunted. She immediately pushed her head back and flushed with embarrassment.
- “Just watch the horns.” I said quietly.
- “I'm sorry.” She whispered.
- “What's the rest of this?”
- “My uncle is not family. He's one of the other Satyrs I was staying with until I could be a part of your life. My father is Bacchus.”
- “You're the daughter of a god?” I exclaimed.
- “I am. I told you he plays the flute. He's renown for being able to do that and you have the beginning of his skill. With time you'll be able to play like he does. I want you to come with me and meet him. I want us to be bonded. I want you to be my knight, my protector.”
- “And Chupa?”
- “She is already my knight. Her entire purpose is to protect me. She gets overzealous in it as you've seen and there's the entire sexual side that's... well when my father found out he beat her because he did not expect it to manifest.”
- “So your father the God set you two knights. One of them a Chupacabra girl that can paralyze people with her bite and the other an ocarina playing human that rents a small apartment and drives an old used car?”
- “Yes. It's...” She started but I cut her off.
- “No. Just... there's no way.” I stood up.
- “You have to understand that...” She stood and moved back.
- “I don't have to understand anything. I take you both into my home and you tell me that this was all suppose to happen. That you, Chupa and I are suppose to be together. You're a priestess of your father and... and... this sounds like the plot to a video game or a manga. This can't be real. None of this can. Damn it was so simple when I saw you. I just wanted to be with you.” I rambled on.
- “Why did you want to be with me?” She asked softly.
- “Because you are beautiful. Because you are the ideal woman, the woman I've always dreamed of.”
- “Were you ever attracted to Satyrs before you saw me?”
- “I... no... no I was not.”
- “Had you ever though about being with one before me?”
- “...no.”
- “This is a lot to process. A lot to come to terms with. Chupacabra's gone for the night. Come...”
- She led me to the bedroom and sat me down on the edge of the bed. My mind couldn't wrap around any of it. Before Chiva I had never even looked at a Satyr. There were some centaurs that were pretty but not my type. Lamias that were sexy but nothing I really wanted. There were human girls that had been stupid and dishonest. They had torn up my affections and spit on them. I had never felt so strongly about anyone as I did about Chiva and that came within the first day of meeting her. My attraction had kicked off the second I saw her. Normally I would never have cared about a Satyr. While I was in my thoughts she had removed my shoes and shirt. I was clad only in my jeans and she took off her skirt then removed her blouse. She stood before me in panties and a bra. I could see the curve of her hips. The area where the white fur stopped and the tan skin began. I looked up at her and she leaned down to kiss me lightly on the lips.
- “I want you to lay with me in your arms tonight. Just the two of us the entire evening. If you want us to leave tomorrow morning we shall. For tonight though just be with me and let me feel your heartbeat.”
- With a request like that who was I to refuse?
