1. Hello!
2.
3. Welcome to the world of Pokémon!
4.
5. My name is Cheerilee! People call me the Pokémon Professor!
6.
7. This is what we call a “Pokemon”
8.
9. This world is widely inhabited by these creatures.
10.
11. We humans live alongside Pokémon, at times as friendly playmates, and at times as cooperative workmates!
12.
13. Sometimes, we even band together and battle others like us.
14.
15. But despite our closeness, we don’t know everything about Pokémon. In fact, there are many, many secrets surrounding Pokémon.
16.
17. To understand more about Pokémon, I’ve decided to undertake research, as well as share my findings with the classes I teach!
18.
19. Oh! I almost forgot! Sorry, I’m a bit new at this.
20.
21. What is your name?
22.
23. >Enter Name: Norman
24.
25. That’s… a perfectly average name for a boy like yourself!
26.
27. Now… this troublemaker here… He’s your friend, right?
28.
29. What might his name be?
30.
31. >Brad
32.
33. Brad, is it? That’s your friend’s name?
34.
35. All right, Norman, the time has come.
36.
37. Your very own tale of wonder and excitement is about to unfold.
38.
39. On your journey, you will make many wonderful memories.
40.
41. I’m sure that along the way you will come to learn many things as you experience trials and hardships.
42.
43. Now, come on, it’s your time to shine! Leap into the world of Pokémon!
44.
45. …………..
46.
47. >Day “Dreams Don’t Last Forever” in the world of Pokémon
48. >Be Norman Normal
49. >Man, what you would give for something new
50. >It’s been 17 years and you STILL don’t have a Pokémon to your name
51. >You’ve tried to get one, really you have
52. >But they all end with you getting mauled in some way shape or form
53. >It really doesn’t help that all of the other kids left on their journeys four years ago
54. >You didn’t really enjoy their company, most of them were jerks
55. >But it was better company than nothing
56. >”Nothing” is going to be replaced by “Something” today, you could feel it
57. >Donning your attire of choice, you make your way downstairs for breakfast
58. >If there is one good thing about being stuck in this house, it’s your mother’s amazing cooking
59. >Your pace quickened as the smell of pancakes wafted through the air
60. >”Norman! Your breakfast is ready!”
61. >Perfect timing, you just made it down the stairs
62. >”You seem excited” she notes, turning back to the stove when you grab the plate
63. Of course I am, why wouldn’t I be?
64. >You set the plate down before hoping onto the couch
65. Today’s the day, you know.
66. >”Oh do I? Last I recall, “The day” was last week as well”
67. Psh, shut up. It’s today, I just know it!
68. >”Tell me that when you catch a Pokémon, dear.” She quips
69. >You give a lighthearted chuckle in return, directing your attention to the food laid out in front of you
70. >It was “the day” every single time you raised enough money to buy a decent number of Pokéballs
71. >One can imagine how many times “the day” has ended in failure, with you being 17 and all.
72. >It’s amazing how you’ve managed to not lose hope throughout the years
73. >With silverware raised and a gluttonous look on your face, you prepare to gouge the soft, fluffy exterior of the pancakes with a mighty fork
74. >Then the doorbell rang
75.
76. >”Norman! Be a dear and get that for me, would you?”
77. >With a groan of dissatisfaction, you begrudgingly cease your murderous intents and follow your mother’s will
78. >Their time would come
79. >As you walked farther from the current object of your desires, you mind couldn’t help but wander
80. >Your mother has had friends come to the house before, but never this early
81. >With a click from the lock and a swing of the door, the guest is revealed to be…
82. >Nope
83. >Out of gut instinct, you slam the door in their face
84. >Which have worked, had they not predicted it ahead of time and jammed their foot in the door
85. >”Still as rude as you were when I left. What a shame, I thought you would have gotten some manner by now “Never”.”
86. My name is “Norman”, Sunset.
87. >”Like I care.”
88. >With no regard for your well-being or the door’s, she barges her way inside
89. >The heck that girl think she’s doing here?
90. >Your mother comes rushing by, and upon seeing Sunset, gave a warm smile
91. >”Sunset Shimmer, it’s been so long!” She started, giving her a hug as she got close
92. >To your mother, Sunset is the daughter she never had
93. >To you, she is everything wrong with the world
94. >Returning the hug, Sunset came off as pleasant as she could be.
95. >”I know! It’s been such a long time Ms. Normal.”
96. >The added cuddle was not necessary, Sunset
97. >They parted, walking into the living room and beginning to catch up
98. >You didn’t follow, opting to head to the stairs that lead to your room instead
99. >That is, until you caught the tiniest snippit of their conversation
100. >”Thanks… letting me stay… couple of months…”
101. >No
102. >No, you weren’t going to put up with that
103. >Your feet have never moved faster than they had in that moment when you ran out the door
104. >It was official, there was no other choice left for you
105. >If today wasn’t “the day”, you would make it be
106. >You had to, or else suffer the equivalent to eternal damnation
107.
108. >Route 1
109. >In the past, you had always come here with a smile on your face
110. >One that was filled with hope, determination
111. >Now... now you didn't.
112. >You still wore the same clothing you did back then
113. >A clenched hand holding a Pokéball at your side, just like before
114. >Yet even so, the situation had changed
115. >It was either catch it now, or face the consequences
116. >Even with this fact in mind, your legs shook with anticipation, but made no effort to move
117. >To be frank, you were nervous, and rightfully so
118. >Your thoughts lingered on the fact that you may not follow your dreams today
119. >The fact that you will suffer through ten kinds of hell should you fail.
120. >You intake a large gulp of air
121. >it was now, or never
122. >You take one step forward
123. >And another step
124. >Soon enough, you are walking, even if it felt as if there were anchors weighing down each and every movement you made
125. >Your journey is halted before you even reach the tall grass
126. >”WAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIT” called a loud, and desperate voice from the east
127. >You stop, turning your body in surprise from the outburst
128. >Only to be knocked right off your feet
129. >You hit the dirt, feeling your assailant struggle to get up
130. >Dust had risen in the air on impact, obscuring your vision just enough to conceal their identity
131. >They jump, continuing to make their escape as footsteps are heard approaching from the distance
132. >It took a second to process, but as soon as you did you gave a groan
133. >Today just had to be this bad, didn't it?
134. >You begin to sit up, rubbing your head as you try to adjust
135. >...Where did your Pokéball go?
136. >A weary curse came from some nearby bushes, distracting you from your thoughts
137. >"Damn... it..."
138. >A boy, seeming to be around your age with ocean blue hair, fell flat on his face upon arriving
139. >His clothes were ragged, his body lightly battered and bruised...
140. >And for some reason, slightly burnt as well
141. >Before you could even get up, whether to help him or ask questions, one, final thing occurred
142. >A ding
143. >You turn your head to look back, eyes widening and mouth slightly agape at what you saw
144. >The multicolored sphere that you once held now had a fading red glow on its button
145. >Then, you realized it
146. >You were saved
147.
148. >At first, you were in an unbreakable state of disbelief
149. >There was no way that it could've been that easy
150. >None
151. >You even hesitated to pick it up, feeling as if the monster inside would break out at any second
152. >But as soon as your hand made contact with the smooth, outer shell of the red and white cage
153. >As soon as you held it to eye level, coming to terms with reality
154. Dude...
155. >You broke into a rather large, unnerving grin
156. It really happened!
157. >Throwing your hands in the air and holding the sphere aloft, you became a madman
158. I FINALLY DID IT, AFTER SEVENTEEN YEARS I FINALLY DID IT!
159. >You held back down, your spirit seeming to burn with the intensity of multiple passions
160. >It was time
161. >You took a step back, preparing to launch the sphere forward to call out your new companion
162. Go! Pokéba-
163. >A tan hand grabs your wrist, and another grabs your waist
164. >You can feel every breath going down your neck
165. >...Suddenly, you don't feel as confident as before
166. >"Is that... what I think it is?"
167. Um... What do you think it is?
168. >"You should know." he drawls, seemingly seductive with his intents
169. >His loose arm snakes its way across your waist
170. >"Aren't you the one who caught it," he whispers in your ear, "Beautiful?"
171. >NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE
172. >SUNSET IS BETTER THAN THIS
173. >RUN EVACUATION.AVI
174. >ABORT MISSION
175.
176. NO
177. >You rip yourself from his grasp, an easier task than you thought
178. >His expression of molestation slowly morphed into one of stark shock, followed by realization
179. >"Oh." he said, prepared to run as you reared your arm back
180. FUCK OFF
181. >He wanted your balls, you gave him only one
182. >The orb you threw ricocheted off his head, flying off into the distance
183. >As he recoiled in pain, your only thought is to make like a banana
and leave
184. >So that is exactly what you did, you got out of there
185. >Or at least, you would have
186. >After only taking a few steps, you remembered the entire reason you came here
187. >Looking back, you see it, sitting only a few feet away from the almost recovered blue-haired stranger
188. >Seventeen years
189. >You're not going to leave it behind
190. >Feet ran desperately across the ground for the third time that day
191. >"Wait, stop-"
192. >You don't hear him, bending down to grab the ball as you ran by, you shout the phrase you've only dreamed of saying before
193. GO! I CHOOSE YOU!
194. >And then it flew
195. >High up into the air it went, stopping for a brief moment to open up
196. >A red beam is released, and soon your monster is out on the field
197. >It is an Eevee
198. >Its coat is mattered, its breath, heavy
199. >You knew it must have been from its earlier chase, and part of you felt bad for sending it out
200. >The other part only desired sweet, sweet revenge
201. >"Listen to me," the boy states backing up a bit as he continuously fumbled to grab a ball from his belt, "It was an honest mistake, I swear-"
202. TACKLE!
203. >The Eevee's movements start out slow, beginning to build up its pace every second
204. >"Oh no," He says, when finally his hand manages to grab what he wants
205. >"Dickachu, intercept it!" he says, tossing it into the air
206. >Another beam of light, a yellow mouse leaps from its cage
207. >And lands on top of your fox, static coming out of its cheeks
208. >The Eevee falls from the newly gained weight, not able to support it
209. >You look up, mouthing the word "No" as you witness the outcome
210. >"Thundershock!" He says, ferocity in his voice
211. >And so it does
212. >You fall your knees, watching as your first Pokémon is electrocuted before you
213. >The adrenaline rush you felt from the entire experience, gone within an instant
214. >Now... now you just feel exhausted
215. >You close yours eyes and fall forward
216. >Trainer Norman has whited out
