PREPARATION

To play this game (in English) you will need the following:
* A Windows Operating System above XP:

I heard pseudosystems like Wine can't even make this work for Mac. Not too sure about Linux though.
* Japanese fonts:

These can be gotten differently depending on your operating system.
+ For Windows 7, go to: Control panel -> Region and Language -> Keyboards and Languages -> Change
Keyboards -> Add. Then choose the Japanese ones. You might need your disc if they don't show up.
+ For Windows XP, it's very similar to what's written above, just maybe the names of the things
are named differently
* Microsoft AppLocale:

This is a program that allows you to run non-unicode programs in specific languages. You can find it
on Microsoft's website.
To use it, Open AppLocale, hit next and then browse to the program you wish to run. Then choose the
language from the Drop-down list. For Japanese, choose: 日本語 (Usually the last option.)
+ PS: If you get 3 square boxes, make sure you have Japanese fonts installed first.
+ NB: This program does not install on Windows Vista and occasionally on Windows 7. There is a work-
around available at http://tinyurl.com/ALVista , but usually turning off UAC and installing as an
administrator will cause it to install fine.
+ Another way to do it is to change your computer's handling of non-unicode programs.
++ For Windows 7: go to: Control panel -> Region and Language -> Administrative -> Change System
Locale. Then select Japanese from the drop down menu. It'll usually require a restart to apply.
++ For Windows XP:
++ Note that if you do this, some programs may run in Japanese rather than English, which can be
reverted by doing the same thing but changing it to English instead.

INSTALLATION

Installing the game:

WARNING: You MIGHT need to have Japanese locale on when extracting/installing the files you obtained
from your purchase. To do so, run AppLocale on WinRar/WinZip and then open it. This
prevents filenames becoming gibberish and corrupted.
That being said, you NEED to have Japanese fonts installed before doing this.

1. Extract all the files to some place on your computer.
2. Done.
Installing the English Patch:

HINT: For the love of God, read the ReadMes. They're called that for a reason.

Optional: Back up the nscript.dat and your saves, if you started playing before application.
1. Extract everything into the game's main directory, you'll know it's correct if it asks you to
overwrite the old files.
2. Say yes to overwriting the files.
3. Done. The game is now in English.
AppLocale
1. Run AppLocale.
2. Hit next on the mumbo jumbo they have on the first screen.
3. Browse to the game. (Usually this is WHEREVER YOU EXTRACTED THE GAME\もんむす・くえすと！前章\mon_que.exe)
4. Hit next to move to the next screen.
5. Choose Japanese from the drop down menu. (Usually the last option) (If it's 3 squares see above)
6. If you like, make a shortcut to always run this program in Japanese. It'll appear under Microsoft
AppLocale in your Start menu folders.
7. Hit finish to launch the program in Japanese locale.
8. Enjoy the game!

Q) What is this? Why does that woman have a tail?!
A) This is a Visual Novel/Pseudo-Turn based RPG. Its main appeal is that it is an H-Game (Meaning it
is filled with pornography) that focuses on the "Monster Girl" fetish, which means most of the
women you meet in this game are anthropomorphic versions of bugs, snakes, fish, etc.
As I have stated in the beginning, if these kind of things creep you out, please avoid playing this
game.

Q) My game crashes as soon as I wake up! Where the heck is morning.ogg?
A) Most likely, you have applied the English patch to a trial version of the game. The English patch
only works on the FULL VERSION of the game. I'll be reminding on this as we proceed into the
walkthrough.

Q) My game crashes after Ilias teaches me how to fight!
A) Again, you probably forgot to apply AppLocale to the program. For instructions on how to do
so, read the Technical section of this guide.

A) 95% of the game's problems can be solved by applying AppLocale to the game. So make sure you do
it! This is where that shortcut I told you to make above comes in handy, since you'll need to
apply it every time unless you change your computer's unicode settings. If you did so and it still
doesn't work, try asking around.

Q) My save doesn't work!
A) The translator's notes mention that you can only save on a "S a f e S a v e L o c a t i o n"
and when you save, do NOT change the text shown in the prompt box. This is because of the Japanese
word formatting and currently there's no fix to the problem.

Q) Do you ever get to "do it" with Ilias?
A) A Scholar answers this about 2/3 into the game. After you game over there will be an Evaluation
choice (explained later). If you go into Evaluation 50 times, she rapes you. 8D

Q) Oh no! I sealed a monster without getting all of its moves! I'll never be complete!
A) Fear not, you can "re-do" a monster's fight with the Recall function of the Encyclopedia. There
you can fight the monsters on different difficulty levels to get all of their skills, since some
monsters only use certain moves if it is on hard mode or above. In fact, I would recommend playing
through the game and slaughtering all the monsters in your way, then take out the Encyclopedia to
get all of the skills and scenes.

Left Click/Space/Enter: The "Yes" button. Press this to advance dialogue, choose an option, etc.
Right Click: The "No" button. Press this to bring up your "start menu" during fights and dialogue.
Press it when windows are open to return to the previous window.
Scroll Wheel: Scrolling Up brings up the backlog, which is a log of all the things people have said.
You can access every aspect of this game entirely with a mouse (that can right click and scroll). So
what I'm going to include here are some parts of the game that require attention to be used properly.

RPG ASPECTS

HP: As Ilias has said, this green bar at the bottom of your screen is how close you are to losing.
If it hits zero during a fight, get ready for the porn you came for. (pun intended?)
SP: These are orange orbs that appear under your HP Bar. If you've played Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes
of Light, then you'll know how this works. [Attack] to get an orb. You'll get one even if you
miss or fail to hit them. Using a [Skill] uses up an amount of SP. Learning to manage these will
be critical in later battles.
Levels and EXP: To be honest, these don't make that much of a difference in the game. All the battles
are planned so that you fight them at a set level, and because of that you can't
grind your fatlus ass through this game. It's mostly for aesthetics and to mimic a
proper RPG game.
Equipment: Same as above. You can't buy armour or swords voluntarily and though you'll be given the
attack and defence stat of your character, you can't change them.
VN ASPECTS

Backlog: This is what keeps you from wondering what that NPC said if you accidentally clicked the
skip button or were mashing the left mouse button too fast. Scroll up or open your "menu"
to view the last couple of lines of dialogue.
Skip button: No VN is without one. It can be found next to the window button during dialogue. As it
sounds, it skips through the text at a blazing speed to the next choice.
NB: Since you can only save at certain points for this translation, hitting the skip
button may accidentally cause you to lose a save spot.
Choices: Roguetranslator was kind enough to provide you with a safe save point before each choice.
Aim for that true ending!
H-GAME ASPECTS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Encyclopedia: This is like the "Memory" or the "CG" function in most Eroges. It acts as a "Bestiary"
of sorts, recording down every monster you have fought, the amount of times you have
fought them etc, but it also stores the CGs (erotic pictures) that were collected as
a result of your fight. It also allows you to [Recall] the fight, just in case you
missed out on a skill or a scene. Be sure to use it to get all the pornography from the
game.

A NOTE ABOUT THIS WALKTHROUGH:
This walkthrough aims to power through the game, wasting as little time as possible. Due to the
nature of this type of game (PORN), feel free to ignore this guide if you find a monster of interest
and hit the surrender or request button should you feel the desire to stroke your tool.

[ WT-LVL1 ]Introduction

You start off with some technical details, choose yes for the vore scenes if you're into that kind of
stuff. You'll then be asked for the difficulty you wish to play on.

HINT: I recommend playing on the [Normal] difficulty to speed things up a little. Though some
monsters only use certain attacks on the [Hard] difficulty, you can collect them later through
the Encyclopedia's [Recall] function after you have met the monster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that you have an encounter with Ilias which explains the backstory, very JRPG-like. The choices
don't do anything but choose "Nope!" to watch Luka make a fool of himself. Then you'll wake up.
EDIT: I have been made aware that if you choose the [...] option twice, Ilias smites you and you die.
Man what a bitch.

REMINDER: If your game crashes here, you are most likely playing a trial version of the game. Buy
the damn thing since the English Patch doesn't work on the trial one.

Watch the scenes until you get a choice to fight or run from the attacking monster...just kidding.
Answering [Run] gets you a "But thou must!" moment.

FUN FACT: If you [Run] twice, Ilias smites you. She seems really trigger happy with that lightning.

Keep advancing through the scenes to get to your
tutorial fight. Answer [Please do] and READ to understand the main mechanics of the game. If you want

FUN FACT: If you ask Ilias to explain it again, she'll do the [Judgement Tap] attack again as well...

applied to your game. This is the most commonly complained about crash.

STRATEGY: Just keep [Attack]ing, and [Struggle] if she uses "Slime Hold" on you. You'll listen to
Luka's commentary about devising new strategies and stuff.
When Luka says "I don't know what to do any more" when you choose attack, he gains the
option of [Flail Wildly] under his attack menu. Use that twice and she'll run away.

Choose [Help] to advance the story. Again, 2 choices that doesn't matter, but if you don't answer
truthfully you get mind-controlled. Watch the scenes until you get to another choice. Just choose the
questions that aren't [Who am I?] to advance the plot. After that is another choice with no difference
in outcome, she just mind-controls you if you say no. Gee, this game sure is looking pretty linear.
You find out her name is [Alice], and she'll be your travelling companion and source for tsun-tsun
from now on. Talk to everyone in town for hints on where to go and what's been happening recently.
Then, head out of town. Alice makes a quip at the RPG genre and you get an overview on what's to come
on the way to Iliasburg.

Watch the scenes after the fight. You should realise Alice doesn't help out in any fights at all, for
her own reasons. Later at night, you learn the skill [Demon Decapitation]. It's
pretty useful, and needed in a later fight. You get a tutorial on how to use [Skills] and [Guard] by
Alice. Remember what she tells you as they become pretty important later on.
Watch the scenes until the next day, in which you meet something in the road.

STRATEGY: You're paralyzed from the start due to her scream. It's a special type of paralysis as you
find out later on most of the times you're paralyzed, you can't attack at all. Just keep
[Attack]ing until you break free (This may be when you're at about 10% HP), in which she'll
go back to sleep again. I'm not sure about luck but if she does her high damaging moves
when you're paralysed you're pretty much fucked. Literally.

STRATEGY: Don't worry, you can't win this one but it's one of those "scripted battles" where you
just need to meet a condition and you'll win. [Attack] her once to fail to hit her. Then,
like Luka says, use [Demon Decapitation]. Granberia will recognise that you know a strange
technique and then Alice will show up and all will be well.

No EXP gained. Wonder why Granberia is kneeling to Alice? I'll tell you when Luka realises, which is
actually really freaking late.

Watch the scenes, and continue as Alice gives you a Handjob. Note that this counts towards the
"# of orgasms" statistic in the Records. Keep going until you end up with the screen that asks you to
talk to everyone. The one thing you need to do here is enter the Weapon shop and buy some armour.
Then you'll be able to leave town, but it's good to talk to everyone to get an idea of where you'll
be going next. As you leave the city...

FUN FACT: If you haven't noticed yet, she's a backwards Lamia. If you take the Japanese phonetics
for Lamia - ラミア and reverse them - アミラ you get...Amira! Haha did I blow your min- oh you

Talk to everyone in the city again for information on "The Band of Thieves," then proceed to leave
the city again as Alice hands you [Angel's Halo], which I can only assume is some sort of mace
despite everyone saying it's a sword. I mean look at it! Thing's got no cutting edges. Anyways keep
going down the path until you get something to try out your new "Sword" on.

[Demon Decapitation] if you want, too.

You find out that the sword doesn't actually kill them and merely returns them to their non-anthro
forms. After that, you get to choose where you want to go! Since you're level 4, you might want to go
to Irina mountains as it is your suggested level. You don't have to go though, but it makes it a lot
easier.

To play this game (in English) you will need the following:

* A Windows Operating System above XP:

These can be gotten differently depending on your operating system.

+ For Windows 7, go to: Control panel -> Region and Language -> Keyboards and Languages -> Change
Keyboards -> Add. Then choose the Japanese ones. You might need your disc if they don't show up.
+ For Windows XP, it's very similar to what's written above, just maybe the names of the things
are named differently

* Microsoft AppLocale:
  ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is a program that allows you to run non-unicode programs in specific languages. You can find it
on Microsoft's website.

To use it, Open AppLocale, hit next and then browse to the program you wish to run. Then choose the
language from the Drop-down list. For Japanese, choose: 日本語 (Usually the last option.)
+ PS: If you get 3 square boxes, make sure you have Japanese fonts installed first.

+ NB: This program does not install on Windows Vista and occasionally on Windows 7. There is a work-
around available at http://tinyurl.com/ALVista , but usually turning off UAC and installing as an
administrator will cause it to install fine. 

+ Another way to do it is to change your computer's handling of non-unicode programs. 
++ For Windows 7: go to: Control panel -> Region and Language -> Administrative -> Change System 
   Locale. Then select Japanese from the drop down menu. It'll usually require a restart to apply.

Installing the English Patch:

Optional: Back up the nscript.dat and your saves, if you started playing before application.
1. Extract everything into the game's main directory, you'll know it's correct if it asks you to

2. Say yes to overwriting the files.

1. Run AppLocale.
2. Hit next on the mumbo jumbo they have on the first screen.
3. Browse to the game. (Usually this is WHEREVER YOU EXTRACTED THE GAME\もんむす・くえすと！前章\mon_que.exe)
4. Hit next to move to the next screen.
5. Choose Japanese from the drop down menu. (Usually the last option) (If it's 3 squares see above)

A) This is a Visual Novel/Pseudo-Turn based RPG. Its main appeal is that it is an H-Game (Meaning it
is filled with pornography) that focuses on the "Monster Girl" fetish, which means most of the
women you meet in this game are anthropomorphic versions of bugs, snakes, fish, etc.

As I have stated in the beginning, if these kind of things creep you out, please avoid playing this
game.

A) Most likely, you have applied the English patch to a trial version of the game. The English patch

A) Again, you probably forgot to apply AppLocale to the program. For instructions on how to do

A) 95% of the game's problems can be solved by applying AppLocale to the game. So make sure you do

A) The translator's notes mention that you can only save on a "S a f e  S a v e  L o c a t i o n" 
and when you save, do NOT change the text shown in the prompt box. This is because of the Japanese

Q) Oh no! I sealed a monster without getting all of its moves! I'll never be complete!

A) Fear not, you can "re-do" a monster's fight with the Recall function of the Encyclopedia. There
you can fight the monsters on different difficulty levels to get all of their skills, since some 
monsters only use certain moves if it is on hard mode or above. In fact, I would recommend playing
through the game and slaughtering all the monsters in your way, then take out the Encyclopedia to 
get all of the skills and scenes.

Left Click/Space/Enter: The "Yes" button. Press this to advance dialogue, choose an option, etc.

Scroll Wheel: Scrolling Up brings up the backlog, which is a log of all the things people have said.

You can access every aspect of this game entirely with a mouse (that can right click and scroll). So
what I'm going to include here are some parts of the game that require attention to be used properly.

HP: As Ilias has said, this green bar at the bottom of your screen is how close you are to losing.
    If it hits zero during a fight, get ready for the porn you came for. (pun intended?)
SP: These are orange orbs that appear under your HP Bar. If you've played Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes
    of Light, then you'll know how this works. [Attack] to get an orb. You'll get one even if you 
    miss or fail to hit them. Using a [Skill] uses up an amount of SP. Learning to manage these will
    be critical in later battles.
Levels and EXP: To be honest, these don't make that much of a difference in the game. All the battles
		are planned so that you fight them at a set level, and because of that you can't 
		grind your fatlus ass through this game. It's mostly for aesthetics and to mimic a
		proper RPG game.
Equipment: Same as above. You can't buy armour or swords voluntarily and though you'll be given the
	   attack and defence stat of your character, you can't change them.

VN ASPECTS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Backlog: This is what keeps you from wondering what that NPC said if you accidentally clicked the 
	 skip button or were mashing the left mouse button too fast. Scroll up or open your "menu"
	 to view the last couple of lines of dialogue.
Skip button: No VN is without one. It can be found next to the window button during dialogue. As it
	     sounds, it skips through the text at a blazing speed to the next choice.
	     NB: Since you can only save at certain points for this translation, hitting the skip
	     button may accidentally cause you to lose a save spot.
Choices: Roguetranslator was kind enough to provide you with a safe save point before each choice.
	 Aim for that true ending!

H-GAME ASPECTS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Encyclopedia: This is like the "Memory" or the "CG" function in most Eroges. It acts as a "Bestiary"
	      of sorts, recording down every monster you have fought, the amount of times you have
	      fought them etc, but it also stores the CGs (erotic pictures) that were collected as
	      a result of your fight. It also allows you to [Recall] the fight, just in case you 
	      missed out on a skill or a scene. Be sure to use it to get all the pornography from the
	      game.

A NOTE ABOUT THIS WALKTHROUGH: 

This walkthrough aims to power through the game, wasting as little time as possible. Due to the 
nature of this type of game (PORN), feel free to ignore this guide if you find a monster of interest 
and hit the surrender or request button should you feel the desire to stroke your tool.

You start off with some technical details, choose yes for the vore scenes if you're into that kind of
stuff. You'll then be asked for the difficulty you wish to play on.

HINT: I recommend playing on the [Normal] difficulty to speed things up a little. Though some
      monsters only use certain attacks on the [Hard] difficulty, you can collect them later through 
      the Encyclopedia's [Recall] function after you have met the monster.

After that you have an encounter with Ilias which explains the backstory, very JRPG-like. The choices
don't do anything but choose "Nope!" to watch Luka make a fool of himself. Then you'll wake up.
EDIT: I have been made aware that if you choose the [...] option twice, Ilias smites you and you die.
Man what a bitch.

REMINDER: If your game crashes here, you are most likely playing a trial version of the game. Buy 
	  the damn thing since the English Patch doesn't work on the trial one.

Answering [Run] gets you a "But thou must!" moment.

truthfully you get mind-controlled. Watch the scenes until you get to another choice. Just choose the
questions that aren't [Who am I?] to advance the plot. After that is another choice with no difference 
in outcome, she just mind-controls you if you say no. Gee, this game sure is looking pretty linear.

You find out her name is [Alice], and she'll be your travelling companion and source for tsun-tsun 
from now on. Talk to everyone in town for hints on where to go and what's been happening recently.
Then, head out of town. Alice makes a quip at the RPG genre and you get an overview on what's to come
on the way to Iliasburg.

Watch the scenes after the fight. You should realise Alice doesn't help out in any fights at all, for
her own reasons. Later at night, you learn the skill [Demon Decapitation]. It's 
pretty useful, and needed in a later fight. You get a tutorial on how to use [Skills] and [Guard] by
Alice. Remember what she tells you as they become pretty important later on.

Watch the scenes until the next day, in which you meet something in the road.

	  go back to sleep again. I'm not sure about luck but if she does her high damaging moves 
	  when you're paralysed you're pretty much fucked. Literally.

Talk to everyone in the city again for information on "The Band of Thieves," then proceed to leave 
the city again as Alice hands you [Angel's Halo], which I can only assume is some sort of mace
despite everyone saying it's a sword. I mean look at it! Thing's got no cutting edges. Anyways keep
going down the path until you get something to try out your new "Sword" on.

	  [Demon Decapitation] if you want, too.

You find out that the sword doesn't actually kill them and merely returns them to their non-anthro
forms. After that, you get to choose where you want to go! Since you're level 4, you might want to go
to Irina mountains as it is your suggested level. You don't have to go though, but it makes it a lot
easier.

	  [Struggle] and Luka will just lift her off his back. She'll then concentrate magic, hit
	  [Guard] and you'll make her cry.

Congratulations, you've made 4 children cry. Watch the scenes and get the happy ending for the four
bandits. I think this scene is what captures the RPG essence of the game, but whatever. It's a cute
scene, and you'll get some sort of treasure that Alice deems as a plot device. After another encounter
with Amira, you're off to someplace else. Since you're now level 6, it'd be best to go to Happiness
Village.
