- Chapter 1: Contacts (part 1)
- >the long wait was nearly over.
- >after a long long long long wait of 26 months, Scott was finally getting a phone upgrade.
- >It was the long awaited day he thought of since he got the one phone he had.
- >Time to say Goodbye to his old iPhone 4, and Hello to that flamboyant iPhone 5S!
- >he could hardly believe it. 64 gigs, an 8 Megapixel camera and a 4 inch diagonal retina display
- >elegance, entertainment and versatility, among others, would soon rest in the palm of his hand.
- >now, all he could do was wait a few more hours.
- >but these last hours would be ten fold the length of the past two years
- >now more than ever, he wished he had the patience his mother talked about.
- >but he was getting more and more restless as the clock ticked, and he could do absolutely nothing to speed it up.
- >It was a mix of glee and helplessness.
- >"just like Christmas...in October" he thought.
- >a void gaze in his eyes expressed his interest in the noisy classroom filled with students
- >The surrounding world was practically non existent
- >His only goal now was to endure the day at the obnoxious school
- >it would only be for a while anyway
- >on the other end of the classroom was the pink Chatterbox
- >going on about her own business. With everyone.
- >Pinkie Pie seemed to care far more for her classmates than Scott or anyone else in the room.
- >Igniting small talk left and right with everyone she walked across.
- >she really liked to see the classroom alive with joy and fellowship.
- >At least until the Professor said it wasn't okay
- >Nothing made her happier than to know everyone got along.
- >But on the very back was the one guy that Norman talked to from time to time
- >The green kid
- >Norman said he was cynical and mean, but Pinkie didn't think that.
- >She didn't think that was true at all, because she had seen him smile before
- >in other places, distinct occasions, with different people.
- >But here, He was sitting in the back near a corner.
- >Pinkie looked at him as she turned on her seat.
- >She could see his restlessness
- >It was weird because Norman was the only one who talked to him
- >Funny, because no one other than the girls and Brad ever talked to Norman.
- >At least the two talked with each other.
- "wait a second..."
- >She remembered that instant
- >Scott had two more classes in schedule with Pinkie, and he did the same thing on both classes as this one.
- >There was something wrong.
- >It just didn't add up, and she was set to find out exactly what.
- >and if it had to do something with Scott not smiling, she could fix that in no time.
- >It was only a matter of getting back home now
- >That technological beauty was almost in his hands, but the wait was not over yet
- >his steps took a faster pace and a smile was lightly sketched on his face
- >Scott's eyes wondered around to see the neighborhood houses dress up with skeletons and witches and other ghouls.
- >The half-built haunted houses began to sound their ghostly anthems
- >It was all looking good, but not good enough in contrast to what he had in his mind.
- >Scott didn't even have the phone yet and he was already wondering what to do with it first.
- >That's what he loved about presents the most; the joy, illusion and hope of waiting for it.
- "like Christmas..."
- >"you mean like the lights and ornaments?"
- "what in the-"
- >What, when and where in the world did the pink one come from? was what he was abaut to ask until...
- >"you know what I like most about Christmas?"
- >The green boy was still trying to answer the questions he had formulated upon the pink tornado's entry.
- >There was no way he knew an answer for the second question
- >Scott wasn't even acquainted to her.
- >"Presents! Not getting them, because then I feel like I owe the person who gave it to me because they had to go through..."
- >what the pink-puff-haired girl had to say was becoming irrelevant and heavy to bare.
- >He didn't care.
- >Scott started to feel that this wasn't going to be a short walk home any more.
- >It was gonna be really, really, really long.
- >"...so, that's why I love giving presents! Because I get to see my friends smile!"
- >What in the world was this girl trying to do?
- >"I noticed you were looking kinda gloomy, so I figured I could find out what was giving you the blues!"
- >at least she stated her purpose clearly now.
- >But Pinkie's innocent small talk was quickly turning intimate
- >"No need to worry Scottie, we're gonna put a big smile on your face in no time! See?"
- >She surprisingly appeared in front of him pushing her thumbs against his cheeks to draw a cartoonish grin on his face.
- >He was reaching melting point inside his head
- >'Scottie' wasn't the name he wanted people to address him as.
- >The only one allowed to say it was Mom.
- >Scott quickly responded by removing her hands off his face.
- "It's SCOTT. Got it? SCOTT. Not Scottie. Jesus, how do you even know my name?"
- >Pinkie just stood with a cheerful grin in front of her irritated partner.
- >she looked at him with the same expression for a long moment, and then replied
- >"you're a friend of Norman, soooo, any friend of Norman is my friend almost by default!"
- >He had been completely oblivious of Norman's acquaintance with the crazed-haired chick
- >This could be either good or bad.
- >Then again, with this girl there probably was no difference.
- >Scott continued his way back home, ignoring her in hopes that she walked away disheartened
- >but she didn't
- >"C'mon "Scott," I say there's nothing to worry about, trust me"
- >Pinkie jabbed her elbow on Scott's sides as they walked down the street.
- >he was regretting ever questioning her sources.
- >he could have prevented this, if only he had stayed quiet.
- >She would have definitely left
- >"I bet you and I are gonna be BEST FRIENDS IN NO TIME!!"
- >The walk was gonna be longer than he might have originally imagined.
- >"Hey, maybe you should give me your phone number! wouldn't that be cool?"
- "no, it wouldn't"
- >He was really trying to repel her, but it would require more than acting cold to scare Pinkie Pie away.
- >"Come on, you know you want tooo..."
- >Pinkie tried to persuade him once more.
- >This time she tried to use a bit her charms on him.
- >She fluttered her eyelashes and made her best shot at an adorable puppy pout face.
- >Scott was both impressed and annoyed at her tenacity
- "God, what do I have to do to make you stop following me?!"
- >"nothing. because I'm not following you, silly!"
- "yes, you are. I don't want to sound more of a prick than what I already am, but, YOU. ARE. OBNOXIOUS"
- >She just giggled and looked at him with the same stupid smile
- >"you're not 'mean' Scottie, and I'm not that obnoxious, am I?"
- >"I think you're just a bit of a grump, but Pinkie's gonna fix that!"
- >"What do you say; phone buddies-slash-contacts?"
- "are you going to leave me alone now?"
- >Scott replied before she even finished her sentence with speed and a hint of discontent in his words.
- >"I just might"
- >She replied in a teasing tone.
- >Scott just sighed and thought to himself "why did this have to happen to me"
- >he finally ceded as he hanged his head from his neck, letting out another sigh.
- "here, just-"
- >he sighed once more.
- "stop please."
- >He yielded his old iPhone 4 to Pinkie
- "After this, just let me go home in peace, please"
- >his plea made him sound as if he had been exhausted of her.
- >"sure..."
- >on the other hand her answer was indiferent
- >Pinkie Pie's attention had been completely set on the Scott's phone
- >"Hmm...you're in a real need for contacts. Wow, You don't even have Norman!"
- >This girl sure knew where the buttons were, and she was hitting them all with utmost impudence
- >Just what he needed; insult to injury.
- >"Okeydoke, here you go. Now we have a super special friend to text with. Eachother!"
- >This was going to keep her away from him at least for a while, but still.
- >Pinkie Pie had installed some sort of unease in Scott's head.
- >at least it was over for now
- >"Well, Scottie..."
- >Scott clenched his teeth when she said it.
- >"This is my stop, I'll see you tomorrow in school!"
- >She walked into a house that they were just about to pass.
- >He was wondering if she really lived there.
- >For all he knew, this girl was as predictable as weather.
- >He looked at his phone and the contact list to look at the newest addition to his contact's list.
- >the contact info had a picture of Pinkie Pie already set, and her name adorned with a variety of emoticons.
- >Scott stood there, looking at the screen.
- >Carefully cradling the phone with both hands, wondering how it all happened.
- >It felt weird, but good. much more than he thought possible.
- >This girl was very mysterious, and much more than she looked.
- >Now that that "adventure" had been properly taken care of, he could carry on his way home once again.
- >A New iPhone 5S was waiting for him at the store.
- >He looked in front of him to see just how far he was from home.
- >He was 5 blocks away from his house, and he walked them without realizing it.
- >'utterly stupid,' were the first words he pulled out of his mind to describe himself
- >but he did share the load with his new puffy haired friend.
- "you pink crazy... Pleb"
