Name: Trigram of Destiny
Type: RPG (Turn style)
Genre: Sci-fi / Fantasy
Setting: Takes place on a bizarre, small floating continent world known as Asta. A place that is primarily forests, mountains, lakes, and a strange barren area to the west beyond a forest of glowing trees, and a freshwater ocean to the south. Through a massive dimension gate (large enough for ships to fit through), Asta is connected to a more environmentally diverse floating continent world known as Mysta which has forests, deserts, and even an icy area.
The game begins in the Tri-Kingdoms, a forest valley with mountains on three sides and the ocean to the south and houses three kingdoms with a tenous relationship.
Back story:
According to legend on Aesperia during the age of the Rhulan Empire colonists and explorers headed out into the universe only to become stranded when the empire fell. Thanks to the discovery of ancient records unearthed from a stone vault beneath Stratalia the exact locations and how to reach them a scientific project is now underway to discover the fate of these long lost explorers.
One such mission sees the teenage heir to Stratalia, Byron-Lia, joining a scientific team to the world of Asta. They go incognito, however events soon force them to stay and become involved in a potential war between the three kingdoms as the princess from one kingdom has been kidnapped in the night, and the holy artifact of the north mountain, the Trigram of Destiny has also vanished. The royal families said to be descended from super-humans that came from beyond the two worlds are the only ones that can even approach the Trigram of Destiny, and only those few born with the gift can use it. The timing and the discovery by some hunters of a strange vessel hidden in the forest (the team’s ship) force suspicion of new weapons, foreign powers, and the eventual forced involvement of Byron-Lia.
Characters: *most characters not fully designed yet*
Byron-Lia: A young man, son of Tyros-Lia and Jasma (making him half Elf and half Aesperian), is a master of Scroll Magic. Using scroll based spells and magic scrolls as weapons.
The Princess: A young maiden with long brown hair, said to hold the inner power to use the Trigram of Destiny. For this reason her disappearance and that of the Trigram has lead to tensions between the three kingdoms each believing the other has her and the Trigram to claim absolute power over the world.
Moth Queen: Joins in the adventure a good ways into the story, second or third chapter. A beautiful woman with solid blue eyes, feathery antenna, wears robes, and has giant blue colorful wings that she can fold up. Is also a partial shapeshifter to hide her features in towns, and possesses a wide array of magic including many status effect spells.
Gameplay:
A traditional RPG with healing items, experience points, HP and MP. Battle display can be switched between a bottom and top display or a side to side display. Designed for handheld systems the story is somewhat short (55+ hours of gameplay being the target). Byron travels between the three kingdoms, beyond the mountains, the forest of light, the land of the Moths (barren area). After the major battles of the first world the conspiracies and drama leads the heroes through a dimension gate to a second world, where the true enemy lies the world of Mysta.
Each area has unique monster enemies, pallete swaps will be attempted to be avoided as much as possible.
