  9. Back story:
  10.    Many centuries have passed since the chaos that overtook the world, the fall of the Rhulan Empire; now merely a legend. It is said in these legends that the world was once ruled by a God-Queen, and the entire world was filled with advanced technology and prosperity. Until the God-Queen turned dark and heroes sought out to stop her. This story varies from land to land; as commerce has returned to the world the stories mix together about this chaotic time. For when the Empress Rhulan was defeated in battle her threat held true; that all technology would vanish with her. Everything created during the empire including synthetic materials mineralized and turned to sand; trains, automobiles, air craft in mid life, buildings and most of entire cities. The death-toll was staggering and communications and traveling any great distance gone in an instant. The world became chaotic, wars over resources, wars over territory.
  11.
  12.     Many centuries later some sense of stability has returned, however there are those who have uncovered lost secret technology. They have learned that the Rhulan Empire’s level of advancement is no mere fairytale, and in fact there still exists technology from that time, technology not tied to the power of the Empress. Research facilities and the biggest secret of all, that people in the empire were researching even older lost technology. One such facility, said to hold a powerful living weapon was uncovered. A great black egg was found and a secret order The Followers of Satasar, found it and according to their priests pouring dark energy into the egg would awaken a living god.
  13.
  14.     Thus the Shining Black Dragon was awakened, and using its power and the lost Precursor Technology it enhanced other dragons to become giants with sentient minds and altered a humanoid race (Devil Dragons) into its soldiers, The Draconians. The world now faces a war against these monsters.
  15.
  16.    The War has raged for years now, even many of the Draconians have come to resent their slave position under the dragons. A hero, his girlfriend, and two rebel draconians will seek out the root of all this evil, the Shining Black Dragon; in the hopes to bring a final end to this war.

  29. Gameplay:
  30.    Incompases most the trappings of a traditional RPG, experience points, items, towns, armor, weapons, random monster battles, cut-scenes as the story progresses. The real difference lies in the battle system. The player team will be on the right side of the screen with selected front or back positions (front positions most likely to be hit by melee strikes blocking the back positions), with the enemy in simular patterns on the left side of the screen. The two sides take turns attacking each other. The players has HP (Hit Points), MP (magic points), and SP (Skill Points). MP is drained when spells are used and has to be replenished using items or sleeping at inns. SP is drained in battle when using Special Skills and recharges on its own as the player explores or uses melee strikes; there are also items to recharge this guage as well. There are also Cross-Skills, when different characters use compatible skills they merge into a new more powerful attack. Some spells also have a combo effect, but not as many as Cross-Skills, and mostly just as boost effects.
