Tournament of Darkness: El Chupicabra

   Not far outside of Mexico City there is a famous graveyard, buried here is a very famous man. He was known as a movie star, a master luchedor, and far more secretly a man who defended the innocent from the creatures of the darkness. Although the man did use his adventures as inspiration for his films. His final adventure however would not become the thing of legends on the big screen.

 

    Alone in the darkness a diminutive figure moves through the headstones. Stopping before the headstone of the famous Saint Silver Mask. The figure is tiny, barely three feet tall and wearing a small trench coat to cover his body, although his black chitin covered clawed hands and feet are plain to see. His little fedora does little to hide the fact he is wearing a silver luchador mask that conceals his face, save for his black mouth with its sharp teeth, and his large buggy red eyes with tiny black round pupils.

 

  The tiny figure takes off his hat and bows to the grave stone, “Master,” he says, “At long last I have found the creature that so dishonored you with such a…dishonorable death. I even know the monster’s name now. They call her Hydera Dredge, at long last master I will reclaim your honor by defeating her in battle.”

 

   He lights a candle and places it in front of the tomb stone the shadows dancing as if in approval of the tiny figures words, “I have even found a way to lure the demon into the open. The Tournament of Darkness, by entering it, she and I will be forced to fight one each other, I need only last long enough to be brought before the vile demoness.”

 

   He stands tall and places his clawed fist over his chest, “and I El Chupicabra, student of Saint Silver Mask will reclaim the honor of your mask, and your name across the entire supernatural world!”
