- The scene below is not something he wanted to see. The luxurious innards of Black Kain’s coach were greatly off-set from its fearsome exterior, this being something that anyone would easily equate to being like the inside of a limo. Amongst his luxuries is a long range camera allowing him to see ahead and below the carriage, something one wouldn’t expect of such a clearly magical and demonic means of transportation. All of which is un-important to the Noble Demon Black Kain who rides inside, all that matters to him is that his contracted, summoned, greater demon as he sees her…or rather the two of them, on his flat screen TV are only standing around talking to the demon general he had ordered them to kill.
- Black Kain’s carriage arrives and lands a short distance from the crater. The three with-in the crater, Rhoan, Rhulan, and Hollia, levitate out of the crater, Rhoan with a blue aura, Rhulan with a red aura, and Hollia with a white aura. They land together on the edge of the crater as Black Kain exits his carriage and eyes them.
- “What is this?” he demands, “Goddesses of chaos, I summoned you for the task of killing this man. By the contract that binds all dwellers of the abyss of darkness you are commanded to fight him and kill him!”
- “Am I now?” scoffs Rhulan with a smile holding her hand to her face in a gesture of amusement, “It seems you were played, not sure by who, but this situation clearly has, played, written all over it.”
- “What?” growls Black Kain as his eyes glow red in anger.
- “Definitely.” says Rhulan, “In fact I, and most certainly not Hollia here, could be classified as *dwellers of the abyss of darkness*. To be honest.”
- She looks at Hollia, the two of them exchanging a knowing look, “I am certain now, how we were summoned instead. The spell you were using, given that your kind seem to think titles are names you wouldn’t have thought to look at the name of the Goddess of Chaos. Which I am guessing was The Goddess of Chaos Satasar. I had to prod you just to remember Rhoan’s name, and he is the one you wanted dead.”
- Black Kain stands dumbfounded.
- Rhulan and Hollia look at each other both blushing now and remembering the same scene. They stood next to each other in a dark enclosed space, as enclosed as a room the size of a round football field could be, they had just destroyed the physical body of the goddess of chaos Satasar, the vile demoness who intended to bring all of Aesperia into destruction, their six other comrades had been cut off from this dark other dimensional space, a swirling darkness the size of a cloud before them, the now disembodied essence of Satasar. The swirling darkness laughed at them in her insane voice demanding that only gods could truly usurp gods. The two of them in that instance had remembered the voice of the creation goddess of Other World, whose words and encounter with them had been locked in the depths of their minds until this instance.
- They held their arms together crooked at the elbows and sang a spell inaudible to the ears of man whose vibrations strung the air in a chorus of fantastic beautiful music befitting the finest courts of the grandest goddesses of beauty and love. Their bodies glowed with a haunting spiritual, heavenly light. The essence of their bodies flew into the air, naked and intertwining like two angelic lovers, their ghostly trails linking together like a spiraling jet stream. In the height of the air the aura ghosts merged into a single being, forming into a single fantastic being; a grand goddess form, taking the best qualities of form, face, and even attire of the goddesses of Greece and Japan. This grand blue and white robed glowing beauty held in her hands a blue sphere, a miniature sun, which she held above her head. The blue sun grew in size lighting up the chamber revealing the archaic symbols carved along its black marble walls and floor. The blue sun was thrown into the dark swirling essence of Satasar, consuming and burning it away.
- What happened next they would not reveal to their comrades in that adventure, something the two of them would keep to themselves, well asides from the rather intimate light show the spell “Advent of the Goddess” put on, after their victory the voice of Ro-Ko-Naka, the creation goddess of Other World spoke to them. She informed them that Satasar was not destroyed, but rather would be reborn sans her great power elsewhere, condemned to start again from the bottom of the ranks of shadow demons. Her title, as well as her purpose as the local deity, watcher over Aesperia would pass to that which slew her.
- Back in the present Rhulan and Hollia break from their intimate duel flashback, “well,” says Rhulan to Black Kain, “We killed Satasar, and her title went from her to us. The two of us killed her together, in the same instant with a…combo spell. So your little spell ended up summoning us. However we are not demon, dark, evil, Sons of Bitches. We aren’t bound to any contract. And oh, by the way, and this is going to sound totally insane. But guess what, Rhoan is my long lost brother. So unless you want two uber sons of bitches and a third who I am guessing is just as eager to get back home, kicking your ass I would do as Rhoan says and just give up that last little chunk of land here and send us back home.”
- Black Kain growls, “I think not.” a confused expression comes over his face as he strains at something in his mind, “I…can’t”
- He begins to laugh manically, “I see, something is messing with us. That book, My memory, someone thinks my mind is weak. I am no fool whose mind is easily altered, something took the book. And I surmise that same something controlled my mother’s foolish mind to give me the book.”
- He smiles and stands strong arms crossed, “Oh yes, Rhoan and Rhulan, brother and sister. I see the one and only spell I could see in the book was to summon the just as dangerous and apparently insane sibling of my enemy. Along it seems with a Holy Maiden of some sort. Overkill I must say.” his eyes glaring at Hollia with a great disdain.
- He smiles a large toothy insane smile and speaks in a deeper demonic voice, “Rhoan, Like my brother I will call upon your honor as a general of the Empress. I challenge you to full military warfare. You want my land; you will have to fight its very inhabitants. My people are loyal, unlike the cowards of my two brothers’ lands. They will not flee, and they will not stand by and watch as some passive devil destroys their way of life and evicts them from their homes to create some desert nature reserve. What say you?”
- Rhoan with a raised eyebrow simply smiles and says, “sure, go right on ahead. You know the Empress is showing up in only four days though right?”
- The Black Kain smiles, a more human smile, his voice returned to normal, “Why yes, I am aware. We shall meet on the field of battle two days from now, at the border of my kingdom.”
- “What ever,” says Rhoan, “I agree to this, what say you Rhulan?”
- Rhulan and Hollia look at each other. Rhulan says, “Well, it seems this world is sealed in such a way that people like us can’t easily come and go, this nobleman who seems to think he has the upper hand here would have had our ride home if not for something freaky apparently that took the book and wanted us here for some reason. Now you Rhoan, you work for someone who can send you where ever. So my guess is our best bet for getting back home is to side with you in your little war.”
- She looks at Hollia for her input. Hollia looks at Rhulan and back at Black Kain and back to Rhulan, “can’t we just kill this guy right now? Its not very logical to wait two days, which isn’t very long, which tells me he has a ready to go army. But then again I don’t know what Mr. Rhoan has going.”
- She didn’t see Black Kain smile to himself at this comment.
- Rhulan smiles at Hollia, “I think I might be rubbing off on you a little too much.” She laughs softly at her own joke, causing Hollia to blush and smile slightly, “Don’t worry, we can take this. Just think about what we have done before.”
- Hollia nods and just as quickly Black Kain chimes in, “Very good, in two days. We will see how much resolve the people have and who is the greater leader.”
- As Black Kain’s carriage flies away Rhulan turns to Rhoan, “Okay why was that dick so confident, aren’t you the general of the fifth legion of this Empress Lady?”
- “Yes” says Rhoan, “however a general can’t give deployment orders with out permission, and the Empress can’t be disturbed by anyone for ten days prior to her arrival for an inspection of a world. She arrives in four days from now, we are fighting in two. I surmise that given how these creatures think that he assumes we will need to raise an army from the locals of the territories I have already taken back. Which are inhabited by weaklings, beasts, and spectators apparently rather than soldiers like he seems to have, this will be a bit…interesting, but I have a feeling the three of us can take a demon army. Although we shouldn’t underestimate what tricks he might have, after all he did summon you two, however what he doesn’t know is that I do keep a personal army at hand in the labyrinth, by personal underground castle here. It’s not nearly as many as this guy might have but enough to take the greater edge off.”
- Rhulan and Hollia have not been paying attention, “huh?” says Rhulan, “you done with the double guessing there? All we need is a plan, scope out this battle field, which I guess is directly between here and the border. He didn’t seem to be too specific on that point. Okay, we have us three and your personal smaller army, which may look bad, but there is one little snag in this bit of pessimism other than the three of us being uber-bad-asses.”
- Rhoan crosses his arms watching her, “and that is,” she says as she pulls a large egg like object from the shadows of her cape with a broad smile holding the foot tall chicken egg looking thing in her hand, “that we in fact have an army. Behold my own creation. The portable nanite-weapon system. Monsters on command, all I have to do is pick an item on the field and confine one of my creations to it and bam, instant monster.”
- Hollia looks behind Rhoan and sees a woman standing there, a scantly clad woman with small demon wings and a pointed tail, “Cookie?” says Hollia out loud causing Rhoan and Rhulan to snap their heads in the direction Hollia is looking.
- The strange woman snaps, “Cookie? Who the hell are you calling a cookie?”
- The woman pauses, “ohhh, Cookie, as in Cookie Clean, your friend.” The woman looks down at her self and does a little spin, “I guess I do kinda look like your friend’s so called Dark Alignment form. But Nope, I am Fira the Lady of Chaos.”
- Rhulan glares at the woman before returning to her passive face, “and how exactly would you, who we have never seen before, know what Cookie Clean would look like?”
- “Oh.” Says Fira, “I watched your adventure, it was the greatest thing I had ever seen. So exciting, so dramatic, so erotic and romantic even.” She winks at the blushing Hollia, “I wasn’t allowed to take part, my boss, my big bad real boss, wouldn’t let me, but this time I want to play too.”
- “oh?” says Rhulan arms crossed, “let me guess you are behind that B.K. guy summoning us, and that brain aneurism he was having about that spell book.”
- Fira holds out her hand and the book appears from thin air, “yep,” she says, “but to be really really honest, and to answer your next question I really had no idea that you and Rhoan were siblings. I got the idea from how similar your powers and names are that it would be really cool.”
- She holds the book to her bosom like a school girl gossiping with her diary in a giddy voice, “but it’s just too damn juicy,” she jumps up and down laughing like a loon, “too good, too good, too good! I love it, I love it, I love it!” *Tee-hee*.
- “I was just watching these other three, but damn they were such a let down, two Myth-shifters made to look like demons, and a beast-shifter wolf type. Wandering around the desert trying to save their human friends and family held captive by Green Kain. You’d think that’d be cool, but that damned Green Kain, because of him the desert is just full of animals and teleporters. But you guys, you guys are cool, you guys are fun to watch, you guys are…” she stands in a pose with her thumb up, “groovy.”
- In the blink of an eye she vanishes.
- “Well,” says Rhoan, “looks like we got our answer. That complete lunatic Fira was behind it.”
- he sees the others looking at him, “Oh,” he says, “Guess she was just spying on you. Well she’s a chaos demon, from Hell, the actual Hell. She has god like reality bending powers and is always trying to find something fun to watch. The observer type, likes to watch others have adventures so to speak unless she gets contracted to do otherwise, treats the universe like some big game. She even has a bad habit of talking like it is, pretending to break the fourth wall or some such rot.”
- “uh…huh…” says Rhulan, “well in any case I…well.” She stops and thinks better of speaking aloud with a broad smile on her face before continuing, “Oh never mind lets just focus on the real problem.”
- Unknown to Fira as she vanished in the paths between worlds a small archaic symbol flashed blue on the small of her back before vanishing from sight.
