- It has been a long journey through the desert for the trio. Big Bad’s wolf fur not doing him any favors in this desert climate. His inner fear regarding that he hasn’t been able to turn back to his human form the entire time they had been in this demonic world taking a back seat as he looks up to the glowing blue orb in the sky this place calls a sun.
- “How the Hell,” he says aloud startling the old man they had met up with again after saving him from a giant scorpion like creature with two tails and a dog skull like armored head.
- “How the fucking Hell!” he says louder stopping his demon imitation compatriots Pan and Lucy, “does this god damned fucking place…get so damned Hot! When it doesn’t get any fucking brighter than fucking dawn!”
- Pan and Lucy with their read eyes and red scale covered faces just look at each other, then back up at the sun, and then back at each other, “huh.” They say in unison.
- The Old man coughs, “Um, over this next hill we will be able to see the fence paddock
- of the fourth district human containment area.”
- Their idle thoughts cut short their minds return to *on the ball* mode. They move silently over the shrug covered hill and bend down behind a larger shrub. They only see a handful of guards, the same skinny teleporter demons they had encountered scarcely on this journey, and five or so of the dog like creatures they had fought off an on in the desert, an animal resembling a dog or some other canine save for being covered in grey scales and having a long whipping tail.
- They watch through the binoculars they had received from a hermit who was hold up an abandoned mine to the south of their current location, a kind man, even if he was a demon, granted he had been a type unlike the teleporters as if not for his pointed ears they would have thought he was human. In fact Lucy had thought he was an elf at first, something that had greatly amused the man enough to befriend them. Big Bad confirmed seeing people he recognized in the paddock near them. Just as they are going over possible plans, Lucy, now on look out, yells for them to come look.
- A cyclone of blue and white energy has encircled the compound. Pan, Lucy, and Big Bad jump up. However the old human man with them becomes engulfed by a smaller copy of the same energy appearing in the area ahead of them. As the light clears the old man is gone, as are the people they had seen in the fences. The demons are rushing everywhere as alarms are going off. The alarms are cut short as the demons collapse to the ground, teleporters and scaly beasts.
- Before the three can speak aloud their concerns an all too familiar voice chimes up from behind and above them, “I sent them back to Earth.”
- The source of the voice of course being Fira.
- “What?” demands Big Bad.
- “I said,” says Fira matter of factly, “I sent the humans back to Earth. In fact I sent allllll the humans back to Earth.”
- “What do you mean by that?” asks Lucy.
- Fira smiles leaning on her hands and laying in the air like a teenage girl on her bed,
- “What I said, is what I mean. I used a very powerful version of the Oblivion Summance spell to focus on all the humans and send them back to Earth. In fact all 2 million humans Green Kain was keeping have all been sent back to the same spot you guys started from on Earth.”
- Big Bad growls before speaking, “Okay, fine, what ever. Then send us back if your done having your fun.”
- “Fun?” says Fira shaking her head, “you people were piss boring. Oh trust me I watched you, it was like watching someone else playing some dull horror survival game. Not my thing. If I had my way I would have sent you back with them, but for some reason my master…” she pauses for a moment, “one of the big bads, and I mean the real biggie baddest of them all, I mean the devil is their bitch types, yeah one of them for some reason I guess only they in their infinite complexity could come up with as I have no fricken clue, has decided that you three need to stick around. Now Green Kain is dead, Red Kain is dead, Black Kain is probably next, I got Rhoan, Rhulan, and Hollia all in one place at the same time, and I want to go watch that so I’ll make this quick.”
- She sees the confused expressions on their faces, “Rhoan, the guy who summoned that big black fire dragon you saw, yeah him, the guy you never saw and I doubt today you were anywhere near a TV. Well right now Rhoan just killed Red Kain, I maybe got a few more seconds if I haven’t missed the start of the real game already wasting time with you people.”
- “Hold up!” yells Pan, “Boring, and all this other gibberish. We have nothing to do with anything going on this world. We have wandered around this God forsaken place for days and we have fought monsters..”
- “animals.” Cuts off Fira, “those were animals, the whipped tailed creatures are this world’s equivalent to coyotes, the fat ball of fur with a head like the alien from that Predator movie a wild pig, and the giant spider things and scorpion things with the skull like armored heads are just large native predators. Now long story short, your friends and family are safe, a group of real heroes on your world were waiting for them, apparently my boss called ahead through some agent on Earth and got some real ass-kickers on the job. So you try not to die for the next four days and oh, make your way North West to the Bad-Lands, you need to get to the capital city of the Queen of Thorns by then if you want to get home. And oh.” She stops and begins waving her hands around in a mocking mystery manner, “and all your questions will be answered, quest thee to the Queen of Thorns past the much stronger demons that you will encounter there.” Her demeanor changes back to normal, “too bad you can’t really level up like in a real video game adventure, you’d need, the first few levels are over, Easy shits over time to get serious.”
- She floats up snaps her fingers and is gone leaving the three standing utterly dumbfounded.
