- Pan & Lucy had finished telling their story to the old man, he had a hard time grasping concepts such as shifters, and the zombies being caused by alien invaders, but the idea of zombies and monsters roaming the Earth seemed almost natural to this man who had grown up since he was only nine years in this Dark World.
- “They will come for me.” Hissed the small spy demon as it began to regain consciousness. “They see what I see, know what I know.”
- “Telepathy” stated Big Bad, “figures, it’s almost always the weak little bastards that end up with that trick.”
- Big Bad noticed the weird looks he was getting, “Sorry, forgot where I was. Back home I saw all sorts if freaks popping up, guys that could throw fire balls, guys that control machines with their minds. I had to get in a lot of fights to protect my family from every nut job who thought they were the new God of the world because they had some special power. And it was always these little pip squeaks who had the psychic powers. Scrawny little nobodies who must have been office jockeys before the end of the world.”
- “Stupid werewolf.” Hissed the spy demon, “remembering your family, you save no one. My brothers went back and took them.” The creature began to laugh manically until Big Bad decked it into the dirt.
- Big Bad growled bearing his fangs at the unconscious spy, “Calm down.” Urged Pan,
- “Shut the fuck up!” screamed Big Bad,
- “That thing is probably just trying to get to you.” stated Lucy in a calming voice.
- Big Bad took a deep breath, “yeah you’re right. But that thing has a point, I’m here and their there. I can’t save them anymore, zombies, monsters, wannabe god-kings, these little bastards.”
- Big Bad kicked the unconscious spy demon at his last remark, “I have been protecting them for so long now, and now I’m fucked. Fuck!” Big Bad left the tent.
- “He isn’t the first man like that to come here.” stated the old man.
- “Excuse me?” asked Lucy.
- “The demon was likely telling the truth; recently they have been taking people in large numbers. They are connected by their minds somehow. If this one brought back you three then it’s likely others went after the rest of his family.”
- Big Bad was standing outside the tent with his arms crossed thinking over the whole situation, he could hear everything being said inside the tent. As he turned back to go in the tent he heard a man’s voice behind him, “Your family is here. They are my slaves now werewolf, as you shall be.”
- As Big Bad turned around his throat was grabbed by a strange man, “I am the Green Kain,” said the man, “The ruler of this land, the master of the demon who you assaulted, and now your master as well.”
- “COME OUT HERE!” he screamed, “Come out here winged demons or else I shall snap this beast’s neck like a twig!”
- Pan & Lucy flew open the tent’s flap to see the strange man in cartoonish roman armor holding Big Bad in the air by his throat.
- “So,” said the man, “You are the two demons who attacked my spy. You dare invade my kingdom?”
- He threw Big Bad to the ground as easily as flinging a piece of dirt, “You disgusting little beasts dare to defile my kingdom. I am the Green Kain, lord of this land and I shall….” A deep rumble from below the ground interrupted the Green Kain’s speech.
- A light hearted giggle drew all of their attention to Fira who floated in the air above them.
- “Hello people of Earth.” She said with a broad smile and a little wave as though greeting old friends, “I’m Fira, of course you’ve met mister sourpuss drama queen the Green Kain here who thinks he rules here.”
- She pointed to his castle as a massive cyclone of black fire shot out from the roof. The flames at their peak formed into the head of a lupine like dragon with pointed ears, two Chinese dragon horns, and glowing read eyes. The fire turned like a serpent’s neck and coiled down around the castle consuming the entire thing. The fire spun into its self and vanished.
- “And that,” continued Fira, “was the Black Fire Dragon attack, which was invented by the Empress her self, and just so happens to be also known by Rhoan.” She giggles as she landed on the ground between the Green Kain and the three people from Earth, “So much for my warning Green Kain.”
- He didn’t seem to notice as he stood dumbfounded by the sight of his castle being devoured in an instant. Fira turned to the three and whispered, “You three might want to get outta here while this drama queen is distracted.”
- Everyone in the area, all the human slaves along with Pan, Lucy, and Big Bad fled from the scene as the Green Kain took to the air, his cape forming into two realistic yet green bat like wings, they flashed with blue bursts of light and thunder like sounds as he flapped them. Fira simply giggled and vanished into thin air.
