  1.     Across the vastness of infinity beyond the realities known to man or man like creatures in a vastly different span of space and time there existed a world not unlike the world of mankind. A blue marble circling a yellow star, home to a sentient race; a race very much unlike human beings. If one were to try and compare them to anything upon the earth in a recognizable form it could only be giant mobile barnacles using long blue whip like appendages that extended from the top of their bodies to interact with the world.
  2.
  3.     There world at first glance appeared to be no more than rocks and mud along shorelines, however in their own way they had technology; perhaps even greater than that of humans, utilizing living machines and biological processes for their everyday tasks. They scurried about in circular motions, not making sounds and touching each other with their tentacle like appendages.
  4.
  5.    Perhaps they had wars, perhaps not, looking at this strange creatures, nothing could be certain about them. Even found by human hands so long after the only records of theirs to be deciphered have been visual; clueing in that at least they had some form of vision, however no sound still exists if it ever did in their slumbering repositories. Their world was ended.

  8.    Before the disaster struck a harbinger of doom appeared, something that had to be completely alien and terrifying for them; but to the humans who found their slumbering ship a curiosity. A blue teardrop, not much larger than a bear perhaps had appeared in the air of what could be assumed to be one of their cities. Great mounds upon which and through which these barnacle like creatures climbed. The teardrop was a brilliant sapphire blue, shimmering in the sunlight. It due course it unfurled, revealing to be two great wings whose limbs were not unlike thin crab legs with a shimmering curtain acting as the membrane. Inside was revealed to be a woman, a human woman; at least that was the impression at first glance. Her skin blue, her hair a darker shade of blue, her eyes solid blue smooth and glowing gems. Everything about her was blue. The image zoomed in on her, her lips were moving, her arms gesturing. The human observers of this record could tell she was giving a grand speech; did the residents of this world know that? It doesn’t seem likely, but why would humans know that?

  10.    In due course the image showed a weapon of some fashion, a canon of sorts, fire a green sludge at the celestial woman. Whatever the intended affect it did not occur. Instead her face showed disgust and with a bright beam of blue light emanating from her hand she dispatched the machine. She flew up into the sky and vanished.

  12.    The next thing seen in the image was a shaky showing from a clearly unstable device, or else held by whatever means in a way conveying alarm. The images were quick, dust and dirt flying about, mounds crumbling under giant golden boot like feet; with a semi high heel even. The images changed to something in the air, a massive golden woman, her body armored skin with lines and plates, yet clearly not worn, clearly part of her body. Long solar flames issued forth from the back of her head like hair, burning the very air and all around. From her ruby red lips she spat out solar plasma. Just before the image gave out another woman with a silver body and solid silver strands for hair could be seen in the distance, her hair whipping about at flying brick like craft and spitting out blue flames from her mouth.

  16.    The images are no more from the relic. The recordings and the device that plays them are bound up by the astronauts to be taken back to base. They had traveled across the threshold of time and space to this world, to this crumbled land, lead by words and whispers by the old ones, truths only their superiors know as they are beyond top secret. The Croon alliance has declared war on Earth, this barnacle like race is known to be among their numbers. A group of wholly inhuman alien races from dozens of universes at war with all that is humanoid in the multiverse. Although the crew is hesitant to speak of it, perhaps what they saw had something to do with that.
