They descended from the stars in craft resembling aquatic creatures, only made of metal and spewed fire. They descended from the craft in metal pods of strange none-semetrical disjoined things with many twisted legs and claws. What stepped forth from the craft was something unlike anything we had ever seen before, so alien, so horrifying to look at. Its body was tall, too tall, a body of odd curves and lumps as though it were a stone carved out by the waves. Its limbs too few in joints, some ending in blunt rounded points others in strange shorter odd numbered digits on rotating cuffs with weird pointed tips. Its limbs longer than its body proper stood high upon them, its proportions and odd shape more reminiscent of an autotrophic lifeform than anything we’d have guessed sentient. This thing’s head separated from its body by a fleshy tube. It had no face, a sleek thing. Although our scientists guessed fairly quickly they would be wearing some kind of protective gear. I imagined the thing before us must be some other craft like the one it walked from, its odd shapes designed for such.
I was mistaken, we would alter communicate with the aliens over a videoscreen, their true forms far more hideous and horrifying than the metal thing they hid inside of. They had no features one would associate with a face, what would be assumed to be eyes were like eggs inserted in the head adorned with spiral rainbows around a pit of utter blackness, drawing one in, daring madness too look too long at the kaleidoscope. The head was adorned with fleshy flaps, horns, and tiny quills, as well as long thin multicolored tendrils. Its face too a variety of unhealthy colors, reminding one of the parasitic organisms that feed on garden refuse. The opening that is its mouth moved with disgusting wet slapping flaps, shells lined the inside of the mouth, and a tentacle that waved about between them. I could hardly stand to look directly at this..thing from space, this hideous alien thing. Its voice bellowed, shaking my entire body, we had to turn down our instruments and adjust them for the range of sound its voice would move in. Another spoke in a voice that scratched at the inside of my head and shook my eyes with how shrill it was. Despite how horrifying they were to behold the encounter was mostly peaceful, they wished only trade. As it happened they could consume almost anything on our planet, even things that most certainly were poisonous to us yet they seemed to really enjoy, and in exchange they would introduce us to more species in the universe to trade with as well as trade us supplies we could use.
Personally I hope future encounters are from a distance only, I believe I may have lost some my sanity simply seeing this ancient race for such a short time, these things introduced to us by another less horrifying more like us alien race. Yet I knew this would not be the last time I had to come face too…what they consider a face, with the En.
