  1.      The mission was supposed to be a simple one, a man, believed to be an unknown martial artist with super-human abilities had been spotted in the mountains of Western China. The reports said the man had been going on a killing spree, supposedly slaying monsters as the locals claimed; however at least one family had come forth reporting that their son had been murdered by the man.
  2.
  3.      Their son had been an aspiring Monk/martial artist who was planning to move up in the world to be one of the elite fighters, he had even developed his own Ki manipulation techniques, which apparently had gotten him targeted by the murderer. All this passed through Chun-li’s mind, and the possible for-thought that her own skills would have caused her to also be targeted by the man, as she spun around upside down, her kicks glancing off the man’s sword.
  4.
  5.     As Chun-li dropped from her spinning bird kick, the man known as Donovan Bane moves in with the speed of a blink of the eye with a sliding trip knocking her to the ground. He thrusts his sword down embedding it into the ground, Chun-li manages to roll aside just in time to miss it. She jumps back standing strong as Donovan begins his attack a-new sans his sword. The two of them exchange chops and kicks blocking and dodging each others moves like a graceful dance. This would have been like any other fight to Chun-li if not for the disturbingly calm look on Donovan’s face betraying that he wasn’t really giving the fight any effort.
  6.
  7.      Chun-li jumps back a good twenty feet and with a yell of “Kikouken” and proud palms forward stands unleashes her Ki energy in the form of a powerful projectile of blue fiery energy. To her eyes the fire-ball appears to impact the man dead-on. As the concussion of the impact kicks up the dirt around him Chun-li moves in near his sword to examine it and stand ready to intercept him should he make a dash for it. Her calm is cut short as she sees a circle of glowing orbs in the cloud of dirt.
  8.
  9.     “No way.” Murmurs Chun-li as she regains her fighting stance, the man’s beads had formed a protective barrier defending him from her Kikouken. The beads entwine themselves back on the man as though with a mind of their own like some glowing headless snake; he calmly stands straight facing her in his own fighting stance.
  10.
  11.      “I sense you have a normal human body,” says Donovan coldly, “but your power is not human, your moves, your spiritual energy betrays your true nature. Every motion cries out to kill, the very power you use calls for the death of your opponent. I have no doubt you are a demon possessing that unfortunate girl. I will free her from the torment you have made this world for her, and send you back to hell.”
  12.
  13.        This was the last thing Chun-li saw and heard before everything went white as Donovan had summoned a bolt of lightning to his sword striking her as well in the process.
  14.
  15.      Her vision clears up, but not the ringing in her ear or the numbness of her body. She stands on wobbly legs and sees Donovan rushing at her with his sword just in time to jump back and not be sliced in half. Unfortunately not fast enough to prevent him from giving her a very nasty slash across her midsection. She holds her hands to her wound feeling the warm blood stream from her violated flesh. She tries to push on the wound preventing any further blood loss, however between the ringing in her ear, the odd electric numb over her whole body, and the blood she is loosing quickly despite her efforts; she is loosing her strength.
  16.
  17.     As much as she would love to keep on fighting she barely has the strength to stay conscious, as her vision blackens she sees Donovan descend upon her with his sword, however rather than the feel of his cold blade in her warm flesh instead she hears a *clang*, the sound of metal hitting metal. With what little strength she has left she forces one eye open to see what appears to be a brown robed priestess blocking the man’s sword with her own blade, one too long and thin to have done what it just did, not something she has time to ponder as the world turns dark and silent, leaving her lying at the mercy of the world in the dirt.
  18.
  19.      “What is wrong with you Donovan?” asks Mei-ling after blocking his sword.
  20.
  21.     “This is not any of your concern.” He growls as his left eye begins to glow yellow.
  22.
  23.     Hsien-Ko materializes from the air like a ghost blinking in and out rapidly before solidifying and floats down to the ground behind Chun-li, “So Donovan you’ve gone all evil now or what?” she asks with a stern face.
  24.
  25.      Mei-ling takes from her robe a long scroll and spins it around herself and Chun-li causing them to vanish behind it like some Vegas magic act, leaving Hsien-Ko and Donovan face to face.
  26.
  27.      “Where’s Anita?” asks Hsien-Ko.
  28.
  29.     “I left her someplace safe. It is no longer safe for her to be with me.”
  30.
  31.     “No shit.” says Hsien-Ko, “you’ve gone off the deep end, you’ve killed humans, not just monsters. And we’ve been following you’re path of destruction, crying mothers, mourning fathers, brothers, and sisters. The town’s people may have thanked you but we know the truth behind closed doors. You’re a monster now.”
  32.
  33.     Both of Donovan’s eye are glowing yellow now as the ghostly image of a demon appears around his body, growling and rumbling like a beast, “they were evil, monsters, I must purge my self of the darkness…the world with-in the self…I am the world…I must….purge…the…world…of…DARKNESS!”
  34.
  35.       His primal roar shakes the wind its self, standing in stark contrast to the seemingly at calm Hsien-Ko, “Mei-ling isn’t here,” she says solemnly, “No more holding back. I’m sorry Mr. Donovan, but I can’t let you go on killing people like this…I am truly sorry, not just for you.”
  36.
  37.      She brings her hands together in front of her chest making a prayer sign, tilting her head, her long sleeve claws rise into the air by her will and multiple. Like a shadow splitting into more shadows her two sleeves become six, a pair raised on high, a pair set out straight, and the third pair down low, the claws laid out flat above the ground as though stroking the air above the grass and rocks. She turns her face up, her eyes glowing as white as snow and as bright as miniature suns with small bolts of white electric sparks from the corners.
  38.
  39.      Far removed from this battle, up high on a mountain ledge overlooking the valley in which Hsien-Ko and Donovan face each other another struggle between life and death is taking place. Mei-ling holds her hands above Chun-li, a warm light emanating from her hands healing her. As Chun-li comes to an expression of familiarity comes over Mei-ling and the girl inside her practically screams, “Oh my God, it’s Chun-li!” On the surface however she maintains the poise and dignity her form would suggest.
  40.
  41.       Chun-li shakes her head as she opens her eyes to see the stately woman standing over and raises her arm to her side surprised to only feel the tare in her dress.
  42.
  43.     “I have healed your wound.” States Mei-ling in a calm and collected manner, “Am I to assume you are the world famous martial artist Chun-li?”
  44.
  45.    “Uh, yes…” says Chun-li, “how, what….” Chun-li’s dazed query is cut short by the feeling of the earth shaking and the sight of strange explosions of fire, blue light, and even electric blasts coming from the valley below. Chun-li’s expression goes from confused to one of wide eyed disbelief and is stunned silent as she sees a giant white ghostly figure like some ancient Greek god rise from the valley below. This giant figure is fighting against a horde of fiery blue dragons that strike through the giant’s body as they fly forth from a sphere looking like a blue sun that has risen from the canopy of the forest.
  46.
  47.     “What…the…hell?” says Chun-li blinking in disbelief.
  48.
  49.   Mei-ling ever calm and collected says, “The giant is the expression of Donovan’s power, he once told us it represented his good side. If that is true this means there may yet be hope for him. The other power would be from my sister Hsien-Ko, normally we fight at a somewhat lower level.”
  50.
  51.      Mei-ling’s eyes narrow as she sees black spike covered Chinese towers rise from the forest floor and swipe through the giant dissipating it into mist.
  52.
  53.     “I think perhaps this has gone on long enough.” She says as her body glows gold and vanishes through the air as a small sphere no larger than a basketball.
  54.
  55.
  56.
  57.     With in the blue sun like sphere of spiritual energy, Hsien-Ko sits in the lotus position upon a giant YingYang disk, her six sleeves spread out like the arms of some ancient goddess as torrents of blue flames pour out from her claws feeding the field and dragons of her ultimate attack. Before her white shining eyes she sees the figure of Mei-ling bathed in golden ligtht.
  58.
  59.     “It’s time to stop.” She says.
  60.
  61.    Hsien-Ko in an echoing god like voice just says, “I am creation and destruction, life and death, the beginning and the end. I shall destroy and recreate anew. All life shall cease and be reborn.”
  62.
  63.    “You are not a goddess.” says Mei-ling, “you aren’t even some tortured soul anymore. You are my sister, you are a sixteen year old girl, you are Lei Lei.”
  64.
  65.     Mei-ling’s Chiang-Shi form melts away to reveal her younger reincarnated self floating in the golden light holding out her arms, “Lei Lei. Cut it out. Donovan’s knocked out already. We saved Chun-li, you know, world martial artist, the lady you were cheering on just a few months ago when she was on TV. Not to mention all the people around here.” She puts her hands on her hips, “and what? you want to just go and kill all these people? Come on Lei Lei, let’s go home now.”
  66.
  67.     Hsien-Ko lowers her defenses allowing Mei-ling to transform into her scroll seal form, attaching herself to Hsien-Ko’s hat and covering her face thus dampening Hsien-Ko’s power. Hsien-Ko’s sleeves flow back together into just two, and her eyes regaining their normal composure.
  68.
  69.      Together again they float down to the ground to the defeated form of Donovan, his sword floating above his body feeding streams of blue energy into him.
  70.
  71.    Hsien-Ko tilts her seal up with her claw and hand on hip says, “So Dhylec, you saved him huh? Well you better get out of here before that lady you were fighting hauls him away.”
  72.
  73.     Dhylec magically lifts Donovan onto the blunt side of its blade and flies off into the sky, Hsien-ko shakes her fist and screams after, “and you tell him if we ever catch him going all evil again, we’re not going to stop with just kicking his ass!”
  74.
  75.     Mei-ling telepathically communicates with Hsien-Ko, “Are you sure about this?”
  76.
  77.     “Yeah,” says Hsien-ko, “Halfway into our fight I think he stopped doing all that evil demon stuff and started using his good powers…I just couldn’t stop though… thanks sis’.”
  78.
  79.      Up on the mountain overlooking the valley Chun-li watches as the silver streak she can tell is Donovan’s sword flies off into the sky, with a blurry figure from this distance she can surmise is Donovan lying on top of it. She shakes her head as she figures out her position and starts the trek back to her truck in the valley.
  80.
  81.     Back in the valley she meets back up with Hsien-Ko, and isn’t too hot to the idea that the scrap of paper on her hat is the woman who had saved her, even when, or especially when, it comes off and sits on Hsien-Ko’s shoulder talking to her with a cute cartoonish face. She learns the basic tormented history of Donovan Bane, as well as the existence of those called Darkstalkers from them during the course of her questioning as to what exactly has been going on.
  82.
  83.       After this short meeting they part ways back to their own lives. Chun-li’s report on the incident back at Interpol’s Chinese branch headquarters was filled with holes and didn’t please her superiors at all; the end result being Interpol sending Chun-li to represent them in a meeting in America for the proposal of a joint effort in dealing with supernatural occurrences.
