Mike finds himself in this strange body, except that its not as though he really is the monster, rather he feels like a passive observer in his own body. He can feel all the senses of this form but he has no control over any of its movements or actions, as though he were possessed. However none of the tell tale signs of possession are present, no voice speaking to him, no feeling of another presence. Its simply as though his muscles and some animal part of his brain is in charge, yet his consciousness is still aware of what is happening.
The demon body has hunched behind some bushes overlooking a jogging path, hidden both in foliage and darkness like a predator overlooking a game trail. As he hides there a young woman on her way out of the park jogs past on her way out of the park. Mike can smell her blood and feels very thirsty, from inside his own head he screams for his body to stop. His demon body sniffs the air for a better sent, yet something is wrong, Mike can’t deduce what though, just something is missing from the smell to make it more appetizing. Mike betrays his own trust as he remembers that many demons also feed on human fear. The body reacts instantly to this thought as it jumps down from its hiding spot and grabs the woman pinning her arms to her sides and lifts her into the air. The young woman screams in terror as Mike pulls her to his mouth, however just as he is about to bite into her shoulder he discovers that the smell is still wrong. Something is still missing, instinctively he knows its an emotion or some state of mind, but its missing from this woman. To Mike’s internal delight his demon body lets go of the woman who runs screaming for the police off out of the park.
From his back ripping his coat he sprouts forth two giant bat like wings. The base of which is disproportionately small as they only cover the shoulder blades on his back despite the length and width of the wings as they out stretch. With only a few quick flaps he magically flies into the air as even with his new muscle mass he knows these wings shouldn’t have been able to lift him so easily into the air. As he flies through sky above the city he turns invisible with out even thinking about needing to hide from sight.
As Mike flies over the city something below somewhere smells good to him. He follows the scent to an ally way and perches on the roof edge. In the ally below two men in trench coats are dragging a woman who is bound and gagged. Mike floats down to the ally entrance behind the men. The men turn around hearing a thud on the concrete but don’t see anyone there. They drop the unconscious woman to the ground and move closer to where they heard the sound.
Mike turns visible not two feet in front of them the men barely utter, “Mas..” before Mike grabs them by their throats stopping them from yelling what ever it was they were trying to yell out. He sniffs them by their necks and finds that the smell edible. “Human blood and evil thoughts.” Thinks Mike realizing just what it is his body has been hunting for. Mike bites into one quickly draining them of their blood and then the other. He drops the corpses on the ground and thinks, “They won’t be turned into vampires, they are just dead.” Mike doesn’t know if that was his thought or some voice imitating him in his head to reassure him that he isn’t a type of vampire that can turn others just by feeding on them. Before the full realization can sink in that he is a vampire a blur rushes past him that grabs the woman and jets into a door on the building to his right. A second blur grabs him but he throws it off against the opposite wall. It’s a man dressed similar to the men that he had fed on, except they are pale and don’t smell human. “Vampires;” Thinks Mike, “and Moroii vampires at that.” He thinks recognizing what type of vampire they are.
Two more vampires jump down from the roof top to the sides of the one Mike had thrown. Before anyone can take any action the sun beams down from behind the sky scrappers. The Moroii jet around Mike and vanish into the same door with a tinted window the one that grabbed the woman had. As the sun shines on Mike, his body twitches and convulses painfully back into his human form. The intensity of the transformation leaves Mike dizzy causing him to collapse in the ally.
Inside the building behind the tinted window a new figure has appeared, a man dressed in a suit with grey skin, silver white long hair, silver eyes, and hands with long grey pointed nails. One of the Moroii turns to the man, “Count Fontaine,” he says with a bow. Count Fontaine looks about and says to a few human servants there, “Bring in the bodies of those failed human slaves, and bring that collapsed Toori-Ma vampire in as well, and take him to my interrogation room.”
