  36. Talons of the Griffin
  37.
  38. >running
  39. >Just keep running, anon thought to himself
  40. >they weren’t far behind now shouting could be heard getting closer
  41. >”he went over there!”
  42. Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit
  43. >anon kept repeating to himself in a panicked voice
  44. >he was looked around himself for a way out, all that surrounded him were tall dialect buildings
  45. >he was breathing heavily, looking still for an exit or a place to hide, the buildings windows and doors had been blocked by planks of wood and scrap metal
  46. >still though he needed to keep going or they would find him, he walked a bit still stressed educed and afraid up a small alley way in between the building that surrounded him
  47. >the voices of men and dogs were still heard getting closer and closer and as they got closer and closer anon breathing got deeper and deeper
  48. >he felt like vomiting just the thought of what they would do
  49. Why did I do that WHY?
  50. >Anon struggled to say to himself, he jogged he was getting weaker and losing the ability to walk and or think straight, if he did stop soon he would collapse
  51. >he looked all around him it was dusk and getting dark quick
  52. Oh thank fucking Christ
  53. >a small opening, small but just big enough to crawl inside, a way out he thought or just a place to rest and hide from them
  54.
  55.
  56. >he ran to the small opening in and pushed himself through as fast as he could and hurried himself into the corner
  57. >the sounds of men were still heard outside, every now and then the beam of a torch would go across the hole, anon had never feared something as simple as a flash of light in his life, but if they found him... well lets just say it wouldn’t be pretty
  58. >anon sat there and waited, he waited for them to leave and sat there looking down, crying over how his life and job was over, but it wasn’t just that he cried for what he had done all his life. Nothing... absolutely nothing
  59. >he sat and pondered his entire existence wondering how he even got into this mess
  60. I have a desk job why did I even try... well it doesn’t even matter now they probably already know where I live so I can’t go home my family... well I don’t even talk to them anymore why would they even want to help me after what happened
  61. >he sat there alone in a dusty old dialect building the only light source the small hole from which he entered
  62. I guess it’s a clear night and the moons out... god I’ve started talking to myself again
  63. >anon stood himself up miserable and upset with his life and now on the run for a measly mistake
  64. >he looked around himself with more interest the house in which had entered was empty all that remained was the peeling wallpaper and the stench and coldness from the damp walls
  65. >it had been a while since he last heard anyone from outside, he was leaving hoping that they were all gone, anon walked over once again to the small hole in which he entered and squeezed himself out once again.
  66. SMACK!
  67. Fuck!
  68. >he exclaimed as he missed a part of the window in which he thought he had grabbed
  69. > He picked himself up still in slight pain from the fall
  70. Well at least I won’t have to do that again
  71.
  72.
  73. >once again talking to himself. He looked around himself it looked different at night so navigating his way back out would be even harder
  74. >He began walking in what he thought was the right way, his mind still a little bit fuzzy from before
  75. Pretty sure it was, no it was...fuck I’m lost
  76. >he began to get worried it was now getting colder and well the preconception of a clear night was wrong as it had started to rain
  77. Really, really? What losing everything wasn’t enough I gotta deal with this shit now!
  78. >he pointed his middle finger to the sky in an attempt to feel better
  79. FUCK YOU GOD. FUCK YOU!
  80. >now anon wasn’t religious but it felt good to blame someone other than himself for once
  81. Ugh... god fucking dammit
  82. >he looked down at his boots drenched cold and bitter, but still he wasn’t going to give up that easily
  83. >anon carried on walking in the downpour, he twisted and turned like a maze through the old buildings
  84. Were in the fuck am I?
  85. >anon kept walking he had decided to go with the plan try to keep going straight, but it was failing
  86. >rain still poured down he was frozen and wet, he looked around himself looking for an opening
  87. YES
  88.
  89.
  90. >an opening at least a couple meters from him, he walked over to it quickening his pace his heart pumped harder, joy and euphoria from a simple exit from a maze of buildings, so simple but it was a great feat, he thought to himself
  91. >he had made it he could see the outside world again the large chimneys in the distant and the city miles away in the distance, he recognized this place it was were his car was parked
  92. Please be here PLEASE...fuck
  93. >his car was there but it was smashed and bad the windows and bonnet were gone, and as well as it being on fire. Anon was screwed on getting out of here fast
  94. Well now what do I do?
  95. >anon thought to himself in a sour and low voice
  96. >he kept staring at the burning car, his gaze left it though the light was reflecting something two eyes not a man but some sort of animal, a dog.
  97. >growling came from the dog walking slowly towards anon as he stepped backwards away from the creature
  98. BARK BARK BARK!
  99. >the dog emphasised from his jaw, anon thought of way out while still walking backwards from the dog approaching
  100. >anon knew what he had to do, he looked back into the maze of building from were he came from
  101.
  102.
  103. >running
  104. >once again he was running for his life accept this time from a different kind of animal
  105. >it was harder this time the weight on him due to the water made it harder to run and the dog he could feel it getting closer, it’s growling still coming from the beast
  106. Fuck fuck fuck
  107. >he kept breathing repeating those same words
  108. >he stopped the dog was no were to be seen, but the barking was still heard getting closer and closer
  109. >he peered around himself once again. A ladder was placed upon wall barley visible due to the rain but a bloody gift from the gods
  110. >anon ran towards it the dog now only seconds away from him, he began to climb it with all his strength
  111. >when he reached the top of the roof he laid himself down on the wet floor rain still pouring on top of him, breathing deeply
  112. >he sighed in relief and pulled himself up from the rooftop and walked over to the edge of the roof
  113. >looking down over the buildings which stretched for quite a distance he could see the illumination of the city in the far distance and to the right the old factory chimneys
  114. What a fucking day this has been huh.
  115. >he wobbled back over to the ladder tired wet and gloomy
  116. SMASH
  117. >The roof caved in on its self were anon was he fell through two sets of floors screaming as he hit the first one then
  118. SMACK
  119. >he hit the floor his vision blurred and passed out
  120.
  121.
  122. 17 hours before the incident...
  123. >anon in his small semi attached apartment, alone as always
  124. >he awoke from his slumber tired and lifeless
  125. >he picked himself up from his bed and stumbled over to the computer and switched it on
  126. Just another day, just another day...
  127. >he murmured to himself, before yawning
  128. >he made himself some breakfast, a simple egg and two slices of bacon on some bread, he then walked over and pushed himself in to a chair and open up the internet as most days went, he looked up sighing in boredom
  129. Oh shit
  130. >anon sat up realising he had work, it was shitty pay but money was money, anon rushed over to his drawers and pulled out his uniform and rushed out of the door
  131. >a while had passed anon had gotten into his car and drove fast to make sure he wasn’t late
  132. >anon had arrived at his work station at his local coffee shop, late again
  133. >oh look who finally turned up
  134. Look sorry it won’t happen again
  135. >yeah well that’s what you said last time didn’t you
  136. Well...I look I’m sorry alright
  137. >no I’m sorry that I gave you a chance to work here and yet you keep letting me down anon
  138. Look if it’s anything I‘ll stay back tonight do some work to help you
  139. >I don’t know, you sure you can handle being here late
  140. Yep I’m sure
  141. >alright, fine but I want it all locked when you finished we don’t want some fucking kids breaking in like last time now do we
  142. No Ms Clarke, you can count on me
  143. >good and let’s not this happen again
  144. You have my word
  145. >anon stood there a fake smile plastered on his face as she left the room
  146. Aaannnnnddddd gone. Fucking bitch making me work extra time not even any money added...
  147. >anon stood there and mumbled to himself
  148.
  149.
  150.
  151. Well better get to work
  152. >hours had passed it was just about closing time, well not for anon anyway he had to work through the night sorting out paper work bills and such for the shop as well as replace all the coffee filters and etcetera, basically it was going to be a long night for anon
  153. >anon had set up his working station at a desk in one of the backrooms and had began to sort out paper work
  154. Ugh I’m so fucking bored!
  155. >anon shouted looking up at the ceiling
  156. SMASH
  157. >the sound of a window being smashed in the front part of the shop was heard, no alarm had played due to anon being there late
  158. Oh fuck who is...
  159. >anon peered his head around the corner, there stood were three men in mask like the bank robbers wear
  160. Oh wait fuck there, oh shit
  161. >anon whispered under his breath
  162. >fucking hell those mask make me sweat
  163. >One of the men pulled his mask off he was a chubby big built bloke with a deep accent
  164. >so we getting the cash
  165. >yeah you go get the cash I’ll look around for anything else of use
  166. >another one of the men was walking over towards were anon was
  167. Oh shit
  168. >anon quickly moved towards the small lamp shade and turned it off as well as grabbing a long metal object from part of the spare parts for the coffee machines, darkness surrounded the room and everything was barley visible. Anon backed himself up and waited behind the door
  169.
  170.
  171. >As the man walked through the door anon struck the back of his head
  172. >OWW what the fuck was that!
  173. >the man stumbled in the dark his body smashing into the walls and knocking over various objects in the room
  174. >anon pushed the man into the desk which he had sat and dogged his way out of the small backroom into the main room were the other two men
  175. >they just stood there staring frozen in shock, anon starred back
  176. >who in the fuck... get him!
