  1. A few hours after Blue fell asleep the train came to a halt. Since he was still sleeping I shook him awake.
  2. "Hey, Blue, wake up, we're here."
  3. We rolled past a sign which said: "Welcome to Four Cannon" I noticed Blue checking his ticket for something, probably the destination.
  4. "Damn, man. What time is it?"
  5. "I'm not sure, I couldn't see the sun for a while now, but it's past noon, that's for sure."
  6. "What?" Blue didn't seem exactly fond of the idea of having slept the whole day.
  7. The train stopped at a small platform. Blue stood up to let me get my bag from the rack. When I strapped over mine, I helped him with his one, since he didn't seem to have adapted to his hooves this much yet. A little later everyone scurried off the train and onto the platform. In all the commotion I lost Blue, but he couldn't have gone far. I looked around and saw that the 'city' consisted of tents to the greatest part, with only a few actual buildings there.
  8. Some people started asking about what happens next, as someone came to pick up our group. We set off to the town hall. On the way there I looked at the buildings. Some essential services have been established. A post office, an Inn (this struck me as pretty odd, considering that everyone seemed to get a tent before getting shipped off, but I guess it's only used as a bar), a clinic,...
  9. Someone in the back of the crowd (I'm not exactly sure who, but I it sounded like Blue) 'moo'ed loudly, which earned him a few laughters. After we arrived at the town hall, the council briefed us about the local and general laws (Mostly common stuff, like 'No stealing' or 'No murders'). The punishments however were more grave. You'll get the death sentence for murdering another person, and you can get a very long time in jail for stealing from or purposely hurting someone. Ironically, we're going to get trained in basic fighting  Afterward they han-... hoofed out maps of the area and scroll with the basic laws and their punishments to everyone.
  10. They told us everyone has to pick up a job, and that there wouldn't be any freeloaders. They also said, if we have any more questions we should stay behind and talk with one of them. As most of the people went to search for a place to set their tent up at, I stayed behind to talk to one of the council members.
  11. "Excuse me, I've been hoping I could pick up work as an accountant, but I'm not sure where to look. Do you know if there is a spot open?"
  12. "You're lucky, we don't have any kind of accountants right now, so you're free to look for a place to work at the local shops. On the other hand..." He seemed to think about something. "Like I said, we don't have any accountants around, so if you can proof you are good you might get to manage the bookkeeping of the city itself."
  13. I stood there in shock. I certainly didn't expect this. I thought I'd get a few names and locations of the stores, but this... The council member chuckled and went back to whatever business he had. After a few seconds I snapped out of it and searched for a place to set up my tent at.
  14. Half an hour late I decided for a spot near the barracks. I set up my tent (this was unnecessarily hard to do with hoofs). I was mentally exhausted and I began writing another entry into my journal, thus catching up with my present moment. I'm probably gonna search for Blue when I am finished.
