- >The morning sun graces your eye slits and awakes you.
- >Sweet music makes it into your ears, a chorus of joys sung by the…unique birds of Changling Isle.
- >The oceany scent of the ocean only kind of makes it through the mask, but you can still smell it.
- [I want to die.]
- >Your headache is so powerful it would shatter a Scouter.
- >Perhaps drinking 47 and a half beers wasn’t your best idea considering the best medical treatment in Equestria for a human equates to tummy pills.
- >Not really sure how they do with livers. On the bright side, if you ever need to hide, your liver already looks like camouflage
- >**But Sir, you haven’t even had your morning coffee yet.**
- [I haven’t had coffee since I first brought you online.]
- >That thought bounces around in your head a bit. How long has that been? Too long.
- [Scan the island for coffee beans, Javhise.]
- >**Right away.**
- >Beep beep beep.
- >**Sir, there are no signs of vegetation on this island.**
- [That’s absurd! I see trees right over there!]
- >You point off to a slightly less black area of the island.
- >**If that truly is vegetation it is none like what I am programmed to be able to scan.**
- >This place is getting more and more interesting.
- >You’ll be sure to bring samples back to study in your lab.
- >Well, once you build one.
- >Right now it’s a cave with some furniture and tools.
- >**Sir, I know that look on your face.**
- [You cant see my face.]
- >**I can sense it. Sir, I highly recommend not taking any ‘samples’ back to the cave.**
- [Shuddap Jahvise.]
- >Your headache is so huge it nearly explodes out of the armor once you take off.
- >You have Jahvise shut off the sound picker-uppers and dim the light coming in through the eye slits of your mask.
- >Different scenarios of how to handle this go over in your head.
- >If what you heard about changelings is true, they all look alike. Best to take your situation to the queen and she can find the culprit.
- >Because, you know, this is that important.
- [Shuddap narrator.]
- >No, u
- >As you get closer, you notice that there are blacker spots on the black rock.
- >The spots are…moving.
- >Are those changelings?
- >Good golly, they’re hideous!
- >Their eyes shine in the sun. A dim and yet, bright blue. Soulless though and they appear buggish.
- >They’re also alicorns. Every single one of them, just the like the princesses.
- >Alicorns, right? You can call them that? Maybe this species has a different name for it.
- >The wings are insect-like and they have armor on their backs.
- [Jahvise?]
- >**Sir?**
- [Take some photos.]
- >The castle, or at least what you assume is a castle, seems to be in the very center of the island.
- >It’s so tall that clouds begin to cover it about half way up. It’s as jagged and misshapen as the horns on some of the larger changelings you’ve seen.
- >Despite its depressing outside, you guess that it must be somewhat cheery inside considering the thousands of windows covering the structure. There should be plenty of light.
- >Your headache also seems to be disappearing as well.
- [Hey Jahvise, turn the sound back on and brighten the lights a bit.]
- >Suddenly a loud siren sounds in the armor.
- >The screen goes fuzzy a bit. A staticy voice tries to make itself heard over the buzzing.
- >**Ssss-zz-sssIr, the a-zzzz-mor izzz low on powe-zzzzzz-r.**
- [Don’t be stupid! It was on full charge when we left. Jahvise? Jahvise are you OK?]
- >**Zzzzzz-ir ther see-zzz-ms to be s-zz-om-zzz-ng wro-zzzz- with my-zzzzzzzzzzzzz- -grams…Shu-zzzzzz-ing down.**
- >No.
- >No.
- >Jahvise come on.
- >The powerful jets jetting from your palms sputter and cease. Your limbs fall limp, nothing holding them in place anymore.
- >Jahvise pls
- >Like a falling stone, you plummet to the ground.
- >SMASH!
- >Your face slams into the edge of a cliff halfway up the tower.
- >You roll back in the air and continue falling.
- >Luckily a stone pole jutting out from the side breaks the fall. Yeah your spine kind of hurts and might be broken, but at least it didn’t—
- >Snap.
- >Jahvise y u do dis?
- >The pole cannot support the weight of yourself and the armor combined. You begin to fall again, hitting every possible rock the universe thinks you can on the way down.
- >At last, your tortures end with a final thud. The ground shakes when your person collides with it. You even form a small crater.
- Ow.
- >You look around. The sky is grey but there are no clouds in sight. Rain remains as a possibility for you.
- >The ground is pitch black. It appears to be stone or some variation of it. There are pillars jutting up everywhere as if this were a giant cave with no roof.
- >Reminds you of home.
- >The home with the Mark I
- >You still have to build a closet for that. Your life sucks.
- Hurrrrrrg!
- >Pushing yourself off the ground takes all your strength. Without the power flowing through the armor to help you move it, everything is manual. Old school manual.
- Jahvise, you having yourself a giggle?
- >Holy god this armor is heavy.
- >You take several heavy steps before leaning on a rock for support. The entrance to the castle is right in front of you now.
- >If the throne isn’t right in front of you, it’s going to be a pain making it there. You WOULD leave the armor if you weren’t in a strange land with ali-bugs everywhere.
- >Plus you don’t like to leave the armor. It’s…safer. It’s nicer in the armor.
- >Making your way into the castle is a chore. Also a disappointment. There. Is. No. Throne.
- >Anywhere.
- >Your neck strains from jerking the head of the armor around looking for one.
- >The inside is darker than the ground outside. How will you see?
- Wow, someone forgot to pay their electric bill.
- >Oh hey, a light.
- >A bright one emanates from the center of the blackness.
- >A really bright one.
- >It’s getting bigger too.
- >No, wait, it’s getting closer.
- >Why would a light fly towards you?
- >And whys it sound like angry magic?
- Oh god dang it.
- >Your world goes darker than the castle as deep, painful sleep overtakes you.
