Fluttershy's Gift
By Qawsa
“Here you go, Fluttershy. I hope this is enough scarves you ask for”
“Why ‘cough’ thank you, Rarity. These ‘cough’ will do perfectly.”
It was snowy day in Ponyville when Fluttershy visit Rarity at the Carousel Boutique to pickup the scarves she order. Fluttershy seem to be a bit out of shape as she accept her scarves and place them in her saddlebag. Her eye was bagged, her face was paled, and her nose was running a stream of mucus. Her appearance bothers Rarity greatly.
“Darling, are you alright? You don’t look too well. Maybe you should rest here and sit next to the fireplace with some hot cocoa. You are not in a state to run out in the snow like that.”
“No, no it’s ‘cough’ alright, Rarity. I’m in a hurry to deliver these scarves to the woodland creatures that ‘cough’ wanted to stay up all winter. Thank you for the scarves. I really ‘cough’ appreciate it.” Before Rarity have any chance of convincing Fluttershy from leaving the Boutique, she took off out into door and into the snowy horizon. “Oh Fluttershy……..”
There was no pony in sight as Fluttershy head to the wood from the snow-covered village. Into the wood, her pacing begins to sluggish as she visit each of her animal friend’s home. One by one, she place a scarf of each animal’s size to their door way and flitter to another home. However, the snow become heavier and heavier as it weight her down. Her illness isn’t getting better, either. Her eye beginning to sag as her body weakens. Even with these endeavor, Fluttershy give herself a little smile and persist.
After placing the last scarf of one of her animal friend’s home, Fluttershy wander into the beaten path, trying to find a way home. “You can ‘cough’ do this, Fluttershy, you can find your way home and ‘cough’ before you know, you would be in comfy next to ‘cough’ warm fireplace…” Her vision begins to blur as Fluttershy tries to keep her eye open. Her leg were beginning to wobble and shaken, preventing her from trotting forward. “Just… a… little… furthe….” Just before she could move another step, her body just gave up. With a little thump, Fluttershy flump into the snowy ground; laying there as the snow covers her weary body. Her eye shut, and her whimper silenced.
“Oh…… Oh. Where ‘cough’ am I?” Fluttershy open her eye to see that she was place in her bed, carefully tuck in, with the cracking sound of the fireplace nearby, at her very cottage. As she looks around, a bunch of her woodland friends, each with their scarves wore, pop out of the work. One of the animals, a squirrel, even brought her a warm bowl of soup. “Wait, wait. You guys ‘cough’ brought me here? How ‘cough’ did I get in here in the first place?” The beaver point Fluttershy to the window. The window itself has been smash open and been covered up poorly with a single plank of wood. “Oh, well I ‘cough’ could fix that when I get better. Let me get you guys some food.” A raccoon and a ferret held her down as Fluttershy tries to get up. They nodded their head with a nope and chatter to her in unison to Fluttershy. “Oh, I guess I ‘cough’ would stay in bed then.” Fluttershy lay her head deep into her pillow and begin to rest her eye. “Thank you, guys. I would ‘cough’ have not made it if it were not for you guys.”
That very night, the critters stay and look after Fluttershy as she get better from her illness. Of course, they raided her food cabinet and made a huge mess in her cottage but they mean well when they were there to keep her company.
