  1. Welcome, Anonymous. What a pleasure to meet you.
  2. It seems you have stumbled upon the Flutterrape-threads of /mlp/.
  3. An excellent choice in literature, if I may say so myself.
  4.
  5. Before you can get started on this never-ending ride of laughter, feels, heart-warming romance and >rape; let us define some ground rules.
  6.
  7. If you were redirected to this paste, it was due to an overwhelming sensation of newfaggotry surrounding you.
  8. There are several rules that have established themselves over the time these threads have been active and it seems you are unaware of them.
  9.
  10. The first and most important one of them all (which goes for about any board on 4chan really):
  11.
  12. 1       >Lurk more
  13.
  14. What this means, you ask?
  15. Just chill around in the thread a bit first. Get a hang of things.
  16. You will note that each thread has a distinct 'vibe' to it.
  17. It is one of the reasons why there are quite a few people who are very vocal against going to Anonymous in Equestria.
  18. They tend to be less forgiving towards new folks who don't adhere to the rules.
  19. This comes at the cost of Flutterrape being called a hugbox, but most of us can live with that.
  20.
  21. It would be a wise thing to just read along in the thread for a few weeks before posting.
  22.
  23. If, however, you can manage not to be a tremendous faggot and offer some actual insight/proper critique on a story, that would not only be highly encouraged as well as thoroughly appreciated by the writers.
  24.
  25.
  26. A second guideline that needs to be pointed out, would be the usage of a name:
  27.
  28. 2       >Names
  29.
  30. Many discussions have been held about this subject and all of them have ended exactly the same.
  31.
  32. Names are not a good thing.
  33.
  34. Always keep that statement in mind.
  35. Names (or tripcodes) grant you an identity. The basic principle of 4chan however is based on anonymity.
  36. That is the great thing about this site.
  37. You can post whatever you want (keep in mind the global and/or board rules) without any restrictions.
  38. If, however, for some reason, you decide to use a name, those things you posted will be linked towards your name.
  39. And that really is something you want to avoid at all costs.
  40. There are dozens of people lurking in the thread and you will —always— be able to piss off at least one if you use a name.
  41. There is literally no need for you to use a name.
  42. If you have something useful to say (an original story idea / a review of story you read / ... ), just do it.
  43. You don't need a name for that.
  44.
  45. Therefore, the rule is set in stone:
  46.
  47.
  48.                                                 DO NOT USE A NAME
  49.
  50.
  51. The exception to this rule are the writers of course.
  52. They utilize their name so people can keep track of their work.
  53. Some of them also keep their names on whilst posting in the threads so that you are able to ask them for a time-estimate on their next update, ask them for writing advice and stuff like that.
  54.
  55.
  56. Now, Anonymous, before you make any rash decisions; you do not want to become a writer.
  57. Not yet, at least.
  58. If you have been redirected to this paste, it is clear that you still have much to learn in the ways of >rape.
  59. I shall simply redirect you to rule one; lurk more.
  60. Do not rush into writing (unless you have previous writing experience and can handle the criticism of anonymous people on the internet of course) just so you can use a name.
  61. There are plenty of writers who post anonymously unless they are posting a part of a multi-chapter story.
  62.
  63. Just, please, do not use a name.
  64. Every time someone does this, we have the same conversation over and over again until the person drops the name.
  65.
  66.
  67.
  68. For those brave enough to attempt to write (May the Gods have mercy upon your soul):

  76. Tips to take into consideration when writing a one-shot by Cerenth:

  78.
  79. Take a look at some stories written by these people to see what a story usually looks like:
  80. http://pastebin.com/7SVBKyyc
  81.
  82.
  83. And most importantly; proofread, proofread again, get an editor to proofread and then proofread it again.
  84. Don't forget to proofread, okay?
  85.
  86.
  87. Finally, that brings us to:
  88.
  89. >3      How do I into 4chan?
  90.
  91.
  92. Luckily, m00t covered this here:

  94.
  95.
  96. TL;DR?
  97.
  98.
  99. >Lurk more
  100. >Don't use a name
  101. >Don't avatarfag
  102. >Don't be a faggot
  103. >Don't use emoticons
  104. >Don't write from day one
  105. >Lurk more
  106. >Have fun
  107. >Lurk more
  108. >Read the stories
  109. >Lurk more
  110.
  111.
  112. Best of luck on your journey, Anonymous.
  113. Travel safe in the lands of >rape.
