>You are walked down the shining halls of Canterlot palace

>The sun comes in through the windows just right

>You stop right outside the door to your office

>You turn around and look at the Canterlot dungeon nurse

"Thank you, Nurse Grayskin."

>She smiles at you

>You reach up your hand and place it near her face

>She nuzzles it affectionately

>You two have had a little thing going

"I'll take it from here."

>She smiles and walks off.

>You propel yourself inside

 

>Looking over the racks of books, maps, and old records, you are pinpointing a few of the last stragglers.

>You pour over the maps and records for a little while

>Suddenly, a gentle knock at the door

"Come in."

 

>Celestia comes in

>You bow as best you can in a wheelchair.

 

"Your majesty."

"Anonymous. Or should I say; "Chain-Breaker"?"

>You smile at her

"I really did like that tribal nickname those Zebras gave me, even if it wasn't one of respect."

>Celestia smiles

>She walks over to the desk and looks over the maps

"Any news on that slippery dragon slaver in the eastern mountains?"

>You shake your head

"Well that is unfortunate."

>You look up at Celestia

"You know, your majesty, I sometimes feel like what I'm doing is pointless. After I freed the slaves of all the major players, they just went back to their forts if they could and keep those slaves, and we've been tracking them down ever since. They are just so resourceful..."

>She places a hoof on your shoulder

"Yes, Anon. We will never be able to stomp out this atrocity, but we must try. Even if you fail, it is a noble goal indeed."

>You chuckle, but soon your disposition becomes more serious

"How goes my... my resort in Ponyville?"

>Celestia looks at you

"It's nowhere near as good as its glory days.. but it is still operational. Rainbow Dash continues to find new guests, even now. People are attracted to the place, even with its dark history the fact it is tied with the first human of Equestria who was also the one who almost single-handedly destroyed all modern slavery..."

>You smile, but with a bit of melancholy

"I suppose."

>She nods slowly, nothing else needs to be said

>You suddenly sob, and ask to be alone

>Celestia is concerned but keeps your wishes

>You are now alone in your office, high in Canterlot tower

>You look towards the window

 

>You get up on your pathetic legs and wobble to the window

>You have to sit on the chair next to it, your lungs heaving at the effort

>You take a minute to calm down

>Once you are ready, you open the window and look out

>The air is swift, the view spectacular

>You look out and see the woods and tiny lines of roads in the distance

>You look down and see down the Canterlot castle cliff, an impressive drop.

>You lean forward

>The wind whistles in your ears and brushes your hair

>Calling you, like an old love

 

>You look down and feel a strange feeling

>It feels like jumping

>You lean forward some more, and then

>You lift back, allowing yourself to stand on your own power, if even for a short while

>You look at the landscape before you

 

>You think of how death is an escape

>Death is freedom

>But you don't need to die; at least not anymore

>Because now

>You're finally

>Mercifully

>Free.
