  1. >Anon is mumbling more syllables to another namby-pamby story book one night
  2. >Suddenly, a knock on the cabin door
  3. >He closes the book quietly, and then puts it on the bookshelf very gently
  4. >He tiptoes over to the door, and grabs his sword from the weapon rack
  5. >He walks over to the door, and making sure to hide the sword from view, opens it a crack
  6. >He looks down, and sees a certain baby dragon
  7. "Hi Anon!" Says spike
  8. >Anon looks out into the night as best he can through the crack
  9. "Spike, it's very very late at night. What are you doing here?"
  10. >He looks up at you and holds out a scroll
  11. "I don't know, I just woke up tonight with this scroll for you. I guess Celestia wants this done in secret? She could just go for a regular courier and not interrupt my sleepy time..."
  12. >While spike complains, Anon keeps looking out into the night
  13. >Somethings not right here
  14. >Anon stepped back and closed the door, unhooked the chains, and then opened the door
  15. >He invited spike inside
  16. >Once inside, he closes the door and locks it behind spike
  17. >Some of the deadbolts are too high for Spike to reach
  18. >Spike seems to notice this, and then notices Anon's sword in his hand
  19. "uhh- Anon. What are you doing..?" Spike says, a hint of fear in his voice
  20.
  21. >Anon turns around and looks at him
  22. >Spike knows these are the eyes of a killer
  23. "Spike. What was the first thing I said to you?"
  24. >Spike shivers and gulps, then seems to be lost in thought for a second before answering
  25. "I could make a fine pair of boots from you..?"
  26. >Anon immediately smiles and relaxes.
  27. "ha ha. Thank goodness Spike, I thought you were a changeling. You scared me."
  28. "You're telling me..." Spike said, placing his scaly hand on his heart to feel his draconic heartbeat
  29. >Anon asked for the scroll and Spike gave it up
  30. >Anon read the scroll.
  31. "Oh. Well than."
  32. "What? What is it? What does it say?"
  33.
  34. >Anon turns around and looks at him
  35. >Spike knows these are the eyes of a killer
  36. "Spike. What was the first thing I said to you?"
  37. >Spike shivers and gulps, then seems to be lost in thought for a second before answering
  38. "I could make a fine pair of boots from you..?"
  39. >Anon immediately smiles and relaxes.
  40. "ha ha. Thank goodness Spike, I thought you were a changeling. You scared me."
  41. "You're telling me..." Spike said, placing his scaly hand on his heart to feel his draconic heartbeat
  42. >Anon asked for the scroll and Spike gave it up
  43. >Anon read the scroll.
  44. "Oh. Well than."
  45. "What? What is it? What does it say?"
  46.
  47. >Anon looks down at Spike for a moment and then walks over to his chest
  48. >He grabs a book-bag and fills it up with all the books he's borrowed from Twilight
  49. >He gives the bag to Spike.
  50. "Here. Put these back in the library. Hide them if you're worried about Twilight finding them."
  51. >Spike looks at the book and then back to Anon
  52. "Anon, are you leaving?"
  53. >Anon looks at him stoically
  54. "Anon! Tell me if you're going!"
  55. >Anon sighs
  56. "Yes Spike, I am leaving on a trip. I'll be gone for at least a few weeks. Don't. Tell. Anyone."
  57. "But what about your Hero celebration at noon? And why do you get up so early anyway?"
  58. >Anon sighs
  59. "Spike, when you've seen what I've seen, sleep is a luxury."
  60. >Spike is silent
  61. >Anon prepares his things
  62. "Are you leaving right now?"
  63. >Anon nods as he works
  64. "Seriously? Without saying goodbye?"
  65. >Anon turns around and raises his voice a little, giving Spike a fright
  66. "Spike, I don't want people to know I'm gone. They'll worry about me."
  67. "And just disappearing into the morning for a month won't?"
  68. >Anon begins to fasten on his travel clothes as he talks
  69. "Spike, nobody will probably even visit me in a months time. I'll be fine."
  70. >Spike sighed
  71. >Anon worked quickly, packing some supplies and fastening his boot-straps
  72. >He finally was ready.
  73. >His axe was busted, and he wanted a lighter weapon for the road, so he took his sword.
  74. >It slide into the sheathe easily
  75. >He opened the door, and six ponies looked back at him
  76.
  77. >He jumps back, grabbing at his sword, but of course calms down when he sees they are all ponies he knows
  78. >There is lingering doubt in his mind however
  79. "...Hello?" He said
  80. >Pinkie Pie suddenly burst into tears, and Fluttershy patted her shoulder
  81. >Rarity spoke up
  82. "I cannot BELIEVE you're leaving! And before your big hero celebration!" She said in that typical voice
  83. >Anon blinked
  84. >How the hell
  85. >Spike looked just as surprised
  86. "How did all of you-"
  87. >Twilight smirked
  88. "I was up late last night, and right as I got into bed Spike burped out a scroll and woke up. He knew it was for you, so he ran off without TELLING ME." she said, glaring at the baby dragon
  89. >Spike looked guilty
  90. "But we understand the need for secrecy. So I only told all of us to come meet you before you left."
  91. >Anon feels a bit moved, if a bit annoyed.
  92.
  93. >Anon bows a little
  94. "Thank you all for your kind words, but I really must be go-"
  95. >Suddenly, Pinkie stops crying and smiles
  96. "Oh yeah! We bought gifts!" she says, before whipping out a small bag
  97. >She first brings out a small jar of rainbow colored-jelly
  98. >Applejack speaks
  99. "That 'uns from me, sugercube. It's one of our last jars of Zap-Apple jam, so enjoy it."
  100. >He nods to her gratefully and takes the bottle, wrapping it in some clothes to protect it in his pack and puts it away
  101. >He turns his head and sees Pinkie holding a knife in her mouth
  102. >He halfway reaches to his sword, but instead just looks at her awkwardly
  103. "Pinkie, why do you have a knife?" He asks
  104. >She spits it out and smiles
  105. "It's a carving knife! We use it at Sugarcube corner sometimes when working with fruit for our treats, but I think you'll have more use for it."
  106. >He nods and takes the knife, slipping it into his belt
  107. >Then, Rarity whips out a fabulous purple cloth with gold trim
  108. >Anon takes it, and unfolds it
  109. "It's a cloak, dear. One side is purple and looks good, but I know how you wilderness people like to blend in, so the other side is camouflaged
  110. >Anon turns it inside out and sees the camouflage, and admires how well it is made and how well it really fits in
  111. "Thank you, Rarity." He says, before putting it on with the camouflage side out.
  112. >Next, Fluttershy with a small roll of simple cloth
  113. "Magic Bandages." She says quietly.
  114. >Anon is stunned most of all by this gift. He didn't expect Fluttershy to have this
  115. >Twilight looked over at Fluttershy with a strange look also
  116. "I got them a while ago. They are very expensive, but can heal wounds much quicker then normal. And if you have any left.. please... bring them back." She said, hoping not to offend him but also wanting her treasure back.
  117. >Anon nods to her, the promise made.
  118.
  119. >Next up was Twilight
  120. >She gave him a book
  121. >He struggled to read the title in the light
  122. "The Art of.. The Art of Pony..."
  123. >He squints, he can't make out the last character
  124. "Twilight, what is the last character here mean?"
  125. "It's "Warfare." The Art of Pony Warfare."
  126. >He stands with a blank face
  127. "...I've never seen that character before."
  128. "For obvious reasons." Twilight added
  129. >He thanks her and put the book away in his pack too.
  130. >Finally, it's Rainbow Dash's turn
  131.
  132. >Rainbow Dash looks at Anon and the others
  133. >She gives an exasperated shy
  134. "Alright. Just take it."
  135. >She hands you what appears to be a dream-catcher.
  136. >The three feathers at the bottom are all blue
  137. >Anon look at them and then back to her
  138. "Yes, they are mine. It's an old Pegasus tradition. It's stupid I know. I just couldn't think of anything else to give you. It's supposed to give whoever holds it good dreams, but if its damaged the one who made it will get horrible nightmares. So.. please be careful..." She trailed off
  139. >Anon nods, the gift may have just been sentimental, but it was obviously important to her and so it was important to him
  140. >He puts it away gingerly, and turns to all of them again
  141. "Thank all of you. So much."
  142. >They nod
  143. "We'll walk you back to town, Anon. Then, you'll go on your way. Nobody else in town is the wiser."
  144. >Anon nods and gets to walking
  145. >They walk down the path in silence
  146.
  147. >As they walk in silence, Anon looks at the little ponies around him
  148. >He almost feels a tear come to his eye, there is always a chance you won't come back
  149. >Suddenly, as you walk into town
  150. >You hear voices and calling
  151. >You hand grips your sword
  152.
  153. >Suddenly, Ponies everywhere
  154. "BYE ANON!" They call
  155. >What the fuck?
  156. >Your eyes lock onto Rarity
  157. "What? I only told one or two other ponies..." Rarity said with a bit of a guilty smile
  158.
  159. >As Anon wades through the pastel sea of ponies
  160. >The mayor approaches Anon
  161. "Anon! We hereby award you with the ultimate hero award!"
  162. >She fumbles Anon a nice medal
  163. >Anon shake her hoof awkwardly as they are broken apart by the crowd
  164. >Anon keep walking and wading through the sea
  165. >Soon, Anon gets to the edge of the town and the crowd disperses
  166. >They wave and call after Anon
  167. "Goodbye Anon! Wish you luck!"
  168. >Anon hear Applejack the loudest
  169. "You better come back now, you hear!"
  170. >Anon nods and smiled, finally turning around waving back at them
  171. >You begin your journey, feeling a great joy in your heart
  172. ----------------------------------------------------------------
  173. >Anon walks for a few hours as the sun slowly comes up
  174. >He is a bit annoyed, he avoided the Ponyville train station because he didn't want anyone to know he was leaving, and so was going to board a train at the nearby city of Manehatten.
  175.
  176. >Anon walks through the town, towering over the little ponies around the streets and sidewalks
  177. >People here were damn rude, and many didn't seem intimidated by his size.
  178. >Finally, he reached the train station and boarded.
  179. >Soon, he was on his way
  180.
  181. >Anon made sure he sat in the back of the train-car, and was thankful few others shared his car.
  182. >He stared off into space for a while, but after the train got started on his journey he brought out the book Twilight had given him.
  183. "The Book of Pony Warfare." he whispered to himself
  184. >He opened the first page and a strange paper fell out
  185. "What is this?"
  186.
  187. >You read the front of the paper slowly and carefully
  188. >It's something Twilight added into the book
  189. *I've added this paper to the book as a table of contents, as this old manuscript seems to lack one
  190. >Anon nods and scans through the table, trying to find a selection relating to his current mission
  191. >Then, he found it
  192. "Zebra War Tactics. Page 167."
  193.
  194. >He flips to the page
  195. >And begins reading
  196. >After looking at a few simple illustrations, he then begins to read the text
  197. "Ancient Zebra Tactics. Before the days of Celestia and Luna, the three pony tribes united to form their society, and had to work on many threats. One of the most important was the Pony vs Zebra wars."
  198. "Under the leadership of the experienced and talented Pegasus warriors, the strong soldiers of the Earth Pony tribe and the Battle-mages of the Unicorns were tasked with defending the tribes new lands and property. One of their greatest foes were the Zebra tribes, which were united at the time by the fearsome Zebra king."
  199. >Anon skipped a little of the text until he found a bit about Commander Hurricane, the most famous general from the pre-Celestia/Luna times.
  200.
  201. >The text soon narrated the tale of the death of commander hurricane
  202. "When battling a Zebra general, but not the king, Commander Hurricane struck him down. He was still alive though, and Commander Hurricane spoke to him.
  203. >However, as they spoke, a Zebra nearby silently raised a spear coated with some dark blue poison- a mix of healing herbs and poison joke, which changed the healing properties to dangerous ones. The Poison Joke and its cures were unknown to pony kind at the time."
  204. >Anon flipped the page
  205. "As he spoke to the Zebra, the Zebra commander's eyes flicked to the right for a split second, and Commander Hurricane turned a split-second too late as the spear impacted her leg."
  206. "She ordered her soldiers to kill the two of them, but she soon became sick."
  207. "She began to make mistakes, still making great plans but always making a tiny basic mistake that ruins the whole plan. For one example, she executed an amazing sneak attack on a powerful Zebra encampment, but she forgot to send food with that army and the siege failed almost instantly."
  208. >Anon thought to himself, mentally noting that Zebras will fight dirty.
  209. >Because of his slow reading, they reached the station almost right after he finished reading. He prepared his things.
  210.
  211. >Anon soon got off the train and looked around
  212. >He was now in a savanna-like environment
  213. >The town was populated by a mix of Ponies and Zebras
  214. >He looked around and soon found a small detachment of guards in some makeshift shelters nearby the town walls
  215. >The guards are expecting him.
  216. "Hello, Anon." The sergeant says
  217. >Anon gives him a quick warrior salute, and then speaks
  218. "Any information on the broke-hoof tribe?"
  219. "They were last seen to the west."
  220. >Anon thanks him, and then looks at the guards
  221. "Any chance any of you would like to join me?"
  222. >They shake their heads
  223. "Sorry Anon, but we are just hear to guard the town from and raids by the rouge chief. Celestia wants you to take him down, not us."
  224. >Anon nods again and thanks them, before heading off to the west and the setting sun.
  225.
  226. >Anon keeps walking until the sun starts to set over the horizon
  227. >He finds a small place to make camp
  228. >He sets up a small fire-pit and gets out some of his supplies.
  229. >He takes out a small box of crackers and unscrews the lid of the zap-apple jam.
  230.
  231. >He dips the crackers and tries it out
  232. >Damn, that's quite a kick on it
  233. >He eats a few more crackers with jam before screwing the lid back on
  234. >He soon takes out some dry beef jerky and just chews on it while staring into the fire
  235. >He soon lays down and looks up at the stars, but before he drifts off he suddenly remembers something.
  236. >Reaching into his back, he grabs Rainbow Dash's dream-catcher and hangs it nearby him
  237. >He soon drifts off to sweet, calming dreams.
  238.
  239. >Anon feels something fall on him
  240. >He wakes up groggily, the impact making him angry
  241. >It was the dream catcher
  242. >He opened his eyes
  243. >Suddenly, a sharp stick is coming towards his face
  244. >He reacts immediately, jumping best as best he can
  245. >The sharp stick accidentally catches the dream-catcher, and it is flung into the dying fire
  246. >It is early morning
  247. >Anon gets to his feet quickly, and sees who he is fighting
  248. >It is a zebra
  249. >His hoof looks cracked
  250.
  251. >Anon reaches for his sword as the Zebra attacks again with the stick
  252. >He blocks it with the blade, his shield laying too far away to use
  253. >he quickly jumps forward and slices the Zebra on the face
  254. >The zebra falls
  255. >Anon steps up and raises his sword, ready for the kill
  256. >The zebra raises his hooves
  257. "I yield! Please do not make me killed!"
  258. >You pause, but step back and allow the Zebra to get up a little
  259. >You step on his leg when he tries to get up all the way
  260. "Why should I let you live, Broke-Hoof?"
  261. >The Zebra looks up at you with a sad expression, the blood reddening the white hair on his face
  262. "I will help you kill the chief. I have with him a beef."
  263. ------------------
  264. END PART 2
