"Rainbow Dash, I need your help with something." > In the blink of an eye shes hovering in front of you. > "What's up Anon?" > You quickly present her with the note you found. "I need you to read this." > She looks at you with an arched eyebrow. > "O-kay...?" > She takes one quick look at the note then looks back at you, her expression deadpan. > "This some kinda weird joke?" > You look at the note. > It looks exactly the same as when you picked it up. "This is written in Equestrian, is it not?" > She snatches the note from your hand and looks at it. > Her brow furrows and she looks frustrated. > "No dude, that's nothing like Equestrian."   > You think for a moment. > You drop to your knees and quickly scrawl your name in the dirt. "Does it look anything like that?" > She drops to the ground and circles to look at it from different angles. > "Yeah, some of those are defiantly on there." > Great, the letter is enchanted. "Rainbow Dash, which way is the library, Twilight may be able to help." > She takes off down the road shouting back. > "Follow me!" > Not wanting to lose her you take off running behind her. > In a short while you reach the Library. > The lights are off, but the door is unlocked and the windows are open, so you can see easily in the darkness. > You unceremoniously enter the building and call out. "Twilight!" > "Dude, maybe you should just wait till morning." > You ignore her and run up the stairs.   > The door to Twilights room isn't locked either and you barge in. > As you do you see Twilight jump back against the wall and squeaks in fright. > She stares at you in the door for a minute. > "A-Anonymous?" "Yes." > She lets out a sigh of relief. > "You scared me. What the heck are you doing barging into my room this late at night?!" > You quickly explain to her what happened on the road. > She slumps back down into her bed, pulls a blanket over herself and grumbles. > "This couldn't wait until morning?" "I usually try to find out about mysterious vanishing things and notes that I can not read as soon as possible." > She sighs. > "Fine, give me the note." > You realize that Rainbow Dash still has it. "Rainbow Dash!" > A second later she pokes her head through the door. > "Yeah?" "The note." > She pulls the note out from under a wing and walks over to you with it in her mouth. > Ignoring that, you take the note and hand it to Twilight." > She takes the note with her magic and unfurls it in front of her. > Her horn starts to glow and she takes a moment to look it over. > "So this is what your written language looks like?" "Yes."   > She stares at the page for a moment longer before looking up at you again. > "So what exactly do you want me to do?" > You don't really know so you just say the first thing that comes to mind. "Do you have some way of removing the enchantment?" > She runs a hoof along her chin and stares off into space for a minute. > "If I knew what the enchantment was I could, but as is I run the risk of just making it unreadable." > Another idea comes to mind. "Could you copy what it says on the note onto something else.?" > She nods. > "Yes, but it can wait until morning." > She plows her face into the pillow and lets out a muffled 'goodnight.' > The note drops to the floor as the room goes dark again. > You pick up the note and walk out of the room, Rainbow Dash trailing behind you. > You make your way back downstairs, Rainbow dash just flies down the air gap and lands in the center of the room. > She turns to you as you reach the bottom of the stairs. > "So now what?" > You contemplate that for a moment. "Would you be able to help me?"   > She shakes her head > "Still got some things to do tonight, then I gotta get to work early." > You nod to yourself. "Than I shall wait for morning." > She begins to make her way to the door way but stops in front of it. > She turns to face you again. > "Um, hey Anon..." > You stare at her, waiting for her to continue. > When she doesn't you speak. "Yes?" > She stares back at you for a minute. > "Uh, nothing, never mind." > With that she quickly makes herself scarce. > Odd, but you had other things on your mind, so for now you decide to ignore it. > At the moment you are trying to recall whatever you can about the incident. > Maybe come up with some answers while you wait.   > The strange thing is, you can't. > The harder you try to recall the details of the events, the harder it is to remember them. > You started by trying to remember what the... > Was it a unicorn or a pegasus? > He was on top of the... > Was he on top or inside the carriage? > Could he have ... > Was it a mare or stallion? > Gods, why can't you remember? > Maybe the note would have some kind of clue? > Maybe the bag? > Oh right the bag! > You frantically look around for it. > When you notice that it is tied to the same clasp that holds your cloak to you. > When did you tie that on?   > ... > You didn't. > What in the name of all things divine is going on? > You attempt to untie the knot binding the bag to you only to find, you can't. > You give it a slightly harder tug and again, nothing happens. > The string moved, but as soon as you tried to undo the knot, it may as well have turned into a solid adamantine ball. > You feel your frustration building rapidly. > You can't read the note. > You can't open the bag. > You can't remember... > ...Anything of use really... > You don't even have something else to do to occupy your time. > All you can do is wait. > You hate how time is simply wasting away, but this is all you can do. > So you wait patiently, staring out the window, waiting for the signs of dawn. > Eventually the dawns light comes and not long later the sound of steps and morning routine can be faintly heard. > In the almost total silence of the library, you can hear water running, even through the doors and walls. > When the sound of water stop, it is replaced once more by hoof steps on wood.   > There is a click as the door at the top of the stairs opens. > You turn your head to see a rather tired looking Twilight coming down the stairs. > She walks right past you into the kitchen and as she does she says. > "Breakfast first, note after." > So you sit patiently waiting for her to cook... > And eat... > And clean up... > Why in Kyhber do fleshlings take so long to do things!? > She does eventually come out of the kitchen, carrying an ink well, a quill and some parchement. > She walks up in front of you, still looking tired, and sits down. > She yawns before speaking. > "Note." > So you unfurl and show her it. > She immediatly looks perplexed. > "Are you sure this is the note from last night?" > You look at the note yourself and it looks exactly the same. "Yes." > You turn the note back to her. > "Anonymous, this is blank."   > You look at the note again and sure enough, the script is all still there. > A plan quickly forms in your head. > If Twilight can't see the note, you can just write the script you see. > You don't know why you didn't think of that before. > You point at the writing utensils. "I need to borrow those for a moment." > She floats them over to a small table in the center of the room. > "Be my guest." > You quickly walk over and kneel in front of the table. > Taking the quill and dipping it in ink, you quickly begin to copy down the script you see from one sheet to the other. > As soon as you finish copying down line-by-line what you see you call out for Twilight, not taking your eyes off the note for a second. > You hear her walk up beside you. > The paper lifts up, surrounded by a faint purple glow, and floats over to her. > You look to see Twilight reading the paper, a look of confusion on her face. > "No cheating?" > There's no way what you just wrote could be two words. > You snatch the note back from Twilights magical grasp and look at it. "What the -!" > Every bird within ten miles is sent flying for a new place to roost, as you shout one of the few profanities you know at the top of your none-existant lungs.   > Meanwhile in the library, Twilight is busy re-arranging her hair. > Spike is now fully awake and beginning to re-shelf the books that were knocked loose. > You? > You're just staring at the parchment gripped tightly in your hands, attempting to comprehend how... > HOW... > Could the note have changed, into both plain common script and equestrian script, reading the simple message... > No cheating. > You BOTH had eyes on the paper. > The paper wasn't enchanted. > The ink wasn't enchanted. > You place the note down in front of you, get up, and walk out the door. > You ignore Twilight calling out, asking you where you're going. > Everything can wait, right now, you need to break something. > So, your maul secure on your shoulder, you walk off towards the everfree forest.   > You're sure nobody will miss a few trees.
