"For trying." > She just looks at you confused. > Oh well you said it and that's what counts. "We seem to have stopped again." > She turns around and once more continues walking. > You can't help but feel you have just forgotten to do something.   > The walk from then on is uneventful and uninterrupted. > Much to your surprise you stop in front of a massive tree. > You could write a list of the strangest buildings you've seen in your time, and this one would probably be in the top five. > Then again so would Sugercube Corner. > You wonder how many more buildings you're going to need to put on that list. "The library is in a tree." > Again with the monotone questions. > You really should find out how to make those sound like... Oh you know... Questions. > Twilight seems to pick up on it anyway. > "Yep this is home sweet home. Let's head in and I'll give you a quick tour." > As she says that her horn begins to glow and the door swings open revealing a dimly lit library.   > Huh, Telekineses. > So p0nies have some magic as well. > Well suddenly the prospect of being overwhelmed in an assault has just become a lot more plausible. > Take another note to self : For personal safety, attempt to be diplomatic. > Twilight goes forward leaving you standing outside, lost in thought. > "Coming in?" > One last look at the stars, and in you walk. > The door closes behind you leaving you and Twilight in darkness, the light of the moon shining through the windows doing little to illuminate the room. > You aren't left in the dark for long, as a few seconds later a large amount of candles placed throughout the room seemingly light on there own.   > "Well here we go. There really isn't much to show you. > The kitchen is to the left over there." > She quickly gestures with her hoof. > "My bedroom and the bathroom are both upstairs, and the basement door is just behind me..." > She spins around, looking to see if shes missed anything. > "There... Really isn't much here except the books..." > She pauses for a moment. > "Oh and I should probably tell you, theres usually an owl around at night named Owlicious, he helps me keep things organized while Spike's asleep." > You have no idea who Spike is but don't bother asking, you figure hes just another p0ny who helps out around the library.   > You approach one of the candles and kneel to inspect it, looking for an arcane sigil to see if what makes them self lighting. > Twilight sees you leaning rather close to the candle and speaks up, concern showing in her voice. > "You should probably be careful around that, it is fire you know." > You stand up and step back. "I am curious, what caused these too light when we entered?" > She raises a hoof to point at her horn. > "Magic" > Ah, okay that's another important thing to remember. > Twilight can probably light you on fire at will. > It's probably a good thing that Pinkie Pie is the only one who hasn't shown an objection to violence.   "Is magic common amongst p0nies?" > There's that smile from earlier. > Clearly she is enthusiastic about magic. > "Oh yes! Well... Sort of... All unicorns can use magic, but pagasi and earth p0nies just have a sort of... Inherent magic. > She raises a hoof and you hear the snapping of fingers. > Okay seriously, how is she doing that? > In a comical puff of smoke, similar to how Pinkie Pie disappeared earlier, she dashes over to one of the many book shelves lining the walls. > After a moment several books seem to be wrapped in a barely visible aura and are yanked from the shelves. > She takes a moment to look at each book, and tosses aside all but one, before flipping open one and carrying it over to you. > "The Beginners Guide To P0ny Magic has a pretty good description in it." > She turns the book to you and when you grasp it the aura of light around it disappears.   > As you look down at the pages it becomes instantly clear that you won't be able to read it. > Though the p0nies speak the same language as you, there written language is vastly different. "It seems that we may have a language barrier to overcome in time." > She looks confused. > You turn the book ninety degrees to the right in the vain attempt to better grasp what you're reading. > It does not help. > Twilight can see that this is an act of somewhat desperate confusion and intervenes. > "You... can't read?" > You lower the book again. "I am usually able, however it seems that our races have dissimilar written languages." > She takes the book back with her magic.   > "Here, I'll just give you the basics then..."
