  1. Part 4 Communication is Magic
  2.
  3. >Did you just understand that little pony?
  4. >Did that pony understand yoU?
  5. >By the look on everyone's face, yes. Yes, you just spoke their language
  6. >You look at the white pony and say the first thing that comes to your mind
  7. Uh...hi.
  8. >Small wave
  9. >The little pony next to you, man she is flipping her shit. She looks very apprehensive, as if you're committing a faux pas
  10. >Whispering, she says "Introduce yourself to the princesses!"
  11. >Oh yeah, that's a good idea
  12. >Oh... shit... Princesses?
  13. >Airman, Ten-HUT!
  14. >Present-ARMS!
  15. >You deliver your crispiest salute
  16. Princesses, Captain...
  17. >Loading...
  18. >Quick brain, do something
  19. >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMTDQZzQMKk
  20. >Uh....
  21. of the United States Air Force reporting in!
  22. >Improv always was one of your stronger points
  23. >The two regal ponies look at each other, amused at your introduction, not in a negative connotation, but clearly enjoying seeing your customs
  24. >The white one looks at you and smiles. She means no harm...you think...
  25. >"Hello, Captain. Welcome to Canterlot. I am Princess Celestia and this is my sister, Princess Luna. We heard about you from my most faithful student, Twilight Sparkle."
  26. >Twilight Sparkle?
  27. >Look down at the pony next to you.
  28. >She's got the biggest smile you've ever seen
  29. >Celestia continues, "We've watched over Equestria for a very long time, and have never seen one such as yourself before. If you wouldn't mind, would you answer some questions we have?"
  30. >Shit. You hate coming up with answers on the fly. You're good at improv... but only to the point where you don't have to answer.
  31. >Parade-HEST!
  32. Yes Ma'am! I will answer every question you have to the best of my abilities!
  33. >They giggle at your unusual display of discipline
  34. >"At ease, captian, please relax."
  35. >It's a trap. Higher ups always say that, just to get you.
  36. Yes Ma'am!
  37. >You move into a modified parade rest, which was your bullshit way of making it look like you shifted a little, when you didn't really do anything
  38. >"Alright, the first question we have is, what is your name?"
  39. >Huh
  40. >They're pretty good
  41. >If you were in the same situation, your first question would've been "What are you?"
  42. >While you're thinking this, you stare at a wall between them
  43. >Twilight Sparkle nudges you
  44. Oh, I'm sorry. I....
  45. >"Yes?"
  46. I... don't know.
  47. >"You don't have one?"
  48. No, it's not that. I know I had a name, I just can't remember it.
  49. >Genuine concern flashes on her face
  50. Well, I don't really care. A name's a name, I might remember it later. But for right now, you can call me Anon.
  51. >"Anon?"
  52. Short for Anonymous, ma'am.
  53. >"Alright, I shall call you Anon for now. Our second question is, where do you come from?"
  54. >Easy one
  55. I come from the United State of America ma'am
  56. >Confused looks on their faces
  57. Ma'am, if I'm not on the planet Earth as I suspect, then I'm nowhere near home.
  58. >"Please, do relax. Don't be so formal, you are our guest. Please make yourself comfortable"
  59. >That tone... she honestly means it. She's not trying to trick you into breaking your bearing, she really just doesn't care for customs and curtesies. Doesn't mean you don't. You're a professional. But you will try to talk normally you decide
  60. >"You said you are a captain of the Air Force, correct?"
  61. That is correct
  62. >"What is an Air Force?"
  63. >Well shit. Curveball
  64. Well, there are many jobs in the Air Force, not just a specific one, in fact, you could do a couple of jobs...Sorry. I'm rambling. In essence, the Air Force of my nation is a branch of our military that deals in air, space, and cyberspace superiority
  65. >Space and cyberspace lost them
  66. Basically, we keep the skies above our nation clear from enemies who would want to harm us.
  67. >"Does that mean you fly?"
  68. >She's examining you. You can sense it
  69. Yes... and no. Not everyone in the Air Force actually flies, but I just so happen to fly
  70. >"Where are your wings?"
  71. >Called it
  72. Well, we don't have wings. We fly in a different way than birds, bats, or butterflies. Or those of you with wings. We have machines we call "airplanes" that we pilot and it flies us
  73. >Oh God, you're trying to explain one of man's greatest accomplishments to a sentient race that learned to fly ages ago.
  74. >Fortunately, she takes that answer and moves on
  75. >"One last question. How did you get here?"
  76. >Uh.....
  77. >Loading...
  78. >Nothing...
  79. >No, there's nothing else you can say
  80. I honestly don't know.
  81. >She doesn't seem disappointed, but rather more worried about your wellbeing. Shit, you might have had head trauma by the fact that you can't remember some shit. She really does care, and you find that you respect her for it.
  82. >"Twilight, please find Anon a place to stay in Ponyville. I want you to learn everything you can from him, and I will work on finding a way to send him home. In the mean time, he is to be treated as a citizen of Equestria. Please help him fit into our culture and keep him out of trouble."
  83. >"I will Princess!"
  84. >Huh. Transport into magical benevolent world. Gain pony citizenship. Fuck bitches...scratch that last one. There's only ponies. And that sends a shiver down your spine.
