  1. Part 28 Into Hell’s Depths…
  2.
  3. >A month later…
  4. >You were damn proud of your trainees
  5. >They were doing things perfectly. The barn was spotless, the orchard was half-bucked, and their marching was flawless
  6. >Bucking all those trees had given them more muscles. Damn, they were ripped! You had to get Rarity to re-measure them and get new uniforms
  7. >In fact, yours were tight as well. Watching them work nearly to death had inspired you to work out even more, and though you were in good shape by Air Force standards, you were now built more like a marine.
  8. >Trying to control what magic you had wasn’t going so well though
  9. >As hard as you tried to follow Twilight Sparkle’s methods, you had only gone so far as to create your black aura
  10. >The times you did gather your aura, it was either too strong to control or too weak to be of use
  11. >You just couldn’t get the right balance
  12. >Hell, you could still hear her voice telling you over and over, “You have to focus, Anon.”
  13. >Maybe you were just too busy training your recruits
  14. >After all, it’s been a month
  15. >Time for the real training…
  16.
  17. >You wake up from your nightmare, unfazed by it
  18. >Twilight Sparkle’s in your arms, like normal
  19. >As you get up, she turns to you and grabs your hand
  20. >Her eyes are just so beautiful in the moonlight
  21. >You go to kiss her on the forehead, but she moves to kiss your lips instead
  22. >”Good morning, Anon.”
  23. Good morning, Twilight. I’ll see you later today, right?
  24. >”Right. 10 o’clock.”
  25. I really appreciate you and the girls doing this for me.
  26. >”That’s what friends do, silly. We help each other.”
  27. >You can’t help but give her a peck on her lips
  28. I don’t think I say this enough, but I’m glad I came here to Equestria, and I’m lucky to have a mare like you.
  29. >She blushes. Her hooves grab and embrace you
  30. >The soft feel of her purple coat…There’s just something about it that is so relaxing
  31. >After a minute, you reluctantly break away from her hug
  32. If only I didn’t have to leave
  33. >”If only…”
  34. >You go through your morning routine and leave your home
  35. >Jogging in the moonlight gave you plenty of time for your thoughts, like how the next phase of training will go, if (or rather, when) your trainees would be needed for the defense of Equestria, or how your love life was going
  36. >You had seen how she looked at you with your new muscles. She was definitely enjoying your better built body, and yet she had a lot more control over herself than you expected
  37. >Since that night, she hadn’t thrown herself at you, though you could tell she wanted to. Instead, she cuddled with you and gave the softest kisses, teasing you gently
  38. >She’s been waiting for a while now. You should give her what she wants
  39. >If that’s alright with you, brain.
  40. >Brain?
  41. >BRAIN?
  42. >Jesus Christ WHAT?
  43. >You gonna let me be a damn man?
  44. >…
  45. >Well?
  46. >Nope. You’re not ready
  47. >Fuck you brain, fuck you
  48. >As you approach the barn, you shut your mental conversation off and prepare for the day
  49. >0430, right on the dot
  50. >Nearly kicking in the doors, you make your loud entrance
  51. ALRIGHT TRAINEES GET UP!
  52. >Immediately, they jump out of the makeshift hay beds and fall in outside
  53. CREED!
  54. >Without hesitation, they scream the creed you taught them
  55. >After they finish, you dismiss them to gather breakfast
  56. >Three minutes later, they come back with nearly a barrel full of apples. Pretty damn impressive
  57. >Instead of digging in, they wait for you to get the first apple
  58. >Good to see them learning their place
  59. >As soon as you grab your apple, they all go in, eating like wolves
  60. >You scarf down your apple, ready to speak to them
  61. >As soon as you do, they stop eating, listening to you
  62. You all have been in training for a month now. You all have grown stronger and become more disciplined. Let me tell you, I AM NOT PROUD OF YOU YET! But I will COMMEND you all for staying in the program! YOU ARE ALL STILL WORTHLESS! BUT I’LL MOLD YOU INTO THE SOLDIERS EQUESTRIA DEMANDS! UNDERSTOOD?
  63. >”YES SIR!”
  64. Good! From now on, things are going to be a little different. Every morning, you all will STILL buck apples! But at 1000 hours, you all will break away and be trained in a different aspect. I expect EVERYONE to be highly skilled in the area you will be trained in, UNDERSTOOD?
  65. >”YES SIR!”
  66. I will STILL be around, and if I catch ANY of you slacking, you WILL be bucking apples for the rest of the week!
  67. >”YES SIR!”
  68. Glad to see we’ve come to an understanding. Finish up your breakfast and get back to work!
  69. >”YES SIR!”
  70. >With the speed of a wolf pack, they quickly consume the rest of the apples and get to bucking apples
  71. >You get on to your PT, running circles around them, while playing a certain favorite song of yours
  72. >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZmPf1SYDx0
  73. >The sun gives a hint towards the East
  74. >Sweat starts to run into your eye
  75. >You’re still not working as hard as they are
  76. >Briefly, you consider helping them out by carrying the barrels back to AJ’s
  77. >But that would put you on their level. All you’ve done to assert that they are below you would come undone
  78. >So instead, you start doing five minutes of pushups every time you run a lap around them
  79.
  80. >Five hours later
  81. >That was a good warm-up, now for the actual workout
  82. >Your body seems to whine
  83. >Just kidding body, I know the pull-ups and incline sit-ups were a bit much
  84. >Timecheck: 0955
  85. >Ah, good. They should be here anytime now
  86. ALRIGHT TRAINEES! FALL IN!
  87. >Immediately, they stop what they’re doing and fall into formation
  88. >In the distance, you can see three colorful ponies trotting your way
  89. >Wait, where’s the four-
  90. >Oh, there she is. Flying like usual
  91. LISTEN UP TRAINEES! You will all now be assigned a trainer. They’re coming, and if I hear as much as a rumor of rudeness SO HELP ME GOD THE LABOR YOU’RE DOING RIGHT NOW WILL LOOK LIKE PARADISE COMPARED TO THE HELL I WILL REIGN UPON YOUR SORRY ASSES! UNDERSTOOD!
  92. >”YES SIR!”
  93. GOOD!
  94. >You watch your friends in the distance coming closer, closer, until…
  95. >”Good morning everypony.”
  96. >”WOW! What a bunch of sillies there are! Good morning!”
  97. >”Um…hello…”
  98. >”You colts ready to learn from the best?”
  99. >They’re all silent
  100. >Ha, that’s good. That’s really good. That’s what they’re supposed to do.
  101. >But they’re still wrong. You thought they would’ve learned from speaking with Rarity…
  102. WHAT’S WRONG WITH MY FORMATION? IT IS IMPOLITE TO NOT RESPOND WHEN BEING ADDRESSED!
  103. >Without missing a beat, they all yell “GOOD MORNING MA’AMS!”
  104. Good!
  105. >You turn to your friends
  106. Good morning Twilight, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash. Thank you all for coming. Time is of the essence, so please ask me any question right now before we start.
  107. >”Um..Anon..?”
  108. Yes, Fluttershy?
  109. >”Do I…have to…isn’t there something else I can do? Like teaching them how to take care of animals?”
  110. >Softly, you reply
  111. I’m sorry. I know you don’t like this, but please bear in mind that this is for the future of Equestria. Can you be strong for me?
  112. >Those eyes, they gaze into your soul
  113. >She gives a nod
  114. Thanks, Fluttershy. Any more questions?
  115. >“Yeah, I got one. When you said ‘teach them everything,’ did you really mean that?”
  116. Yes, Rainbow. I did mean it.
  117. >”You think they can handle it?”
  118. I’m confident.
  119. >A smirk appears on her face. “If not, you owe me a drink!”
  120. And if they can, you owe me two. What about you, Pinkie? Twilight? No questions?
  121. >They both shake their heads
  122. Alright, then I can get this started
  123. >You face your formation
  124. LISTEN UP! Lighting Strike and Blazin’ Blue, you both will be training with Rainbow Dash. She will teach you how to fly! What I saw when you two were up in the air was lazy-ass gliding! YOU WILL FLY!
  125. >”YES SIR!”
  126. Star Shine, you will be training with Twilight Sparkle. She will refine your magic techniques. LIVES depend on your magic!
  127. >”YES SIR!”
  128. Lucky, you will be my scout. You are going to train with Fluttershy and learn how to move undetected in any terrain. Got it?
  129. >”YES SIR!”
  130. Now, before you all break, you might be wondering what Ms. Pie is going to do. She will randomly pop up and try to distract you. IF YOU LET HER, I WILL HAVE NO MERCY ON YOU! You WILL remain superbly conditioned to accomplish the task at hand. NOTHING will distract you! I demand perfection, and I will HAVE it! UNDERSTOOD!
  131. >”YES SIR!”
  132. GOOD! FALL OUT!
  133. >They fall out and go to their respective trainers. Pinkie-oh shit, she’s gone already
  134. >Maybe Lucky could also learn from her
  135. >You shout to them
  136. Lunch time is at the discretion of your trainer! Be back by 1800 or you WILL MISS OUT ON CHOW!
  137. >”YES SIR!”
  138. >Damn, all you hear is “yes sir” these days
  139. >You can’t wait until you can be on speaking terms with them again
  140. >Once they’re all out of eyesight, you decide to take a look in the barn
  141. >It had been a while since the last inspection you did. Hopefully they’ve kept everything tidy and clea-
  142. >In the darkness of the night, you hadn’t been able to see the mess they’ve made
  143. >Their uniforms are lying on the ground, hay everywhere…filth is on the ground
  144. >How did they-What are they-Don’t they-
  145. >Stop
  146. >What would a TI do in this case?
  147. >You smirk. You know exactly what a TI would do
  148. >You grab their uniforms and throw them into the filth on the floor
  149. >Next, you throw the hay beds in the filth and step all over it
  150. >While you’re at it, you throw what stuff that is neatly organized all over the barn.
  151. >When you leave the barn, it is completely unrecognizable on the inside
  152. >It’s their own damn fault, really. All they had to do was keep everything clean, but instead, they decided to be lazy
  153. >Looking up, you see Rainbow Dash flying around, easily outperforming Lightning Strike and Blazin’ Blue
  154. >That’s a drink you owe
  155. >Out in the field, Twilight is showing Star Shine how to better perform magic. Or you assume so. He’s struggling to keep up with her
  156. >You make a mental note: Star Shine might never be as good as Twilight or her brother, but he can definitely improve, and having a battle-ready unicorn fighting with you might just be better than what magical talent Twilight has due to her inexperience in war.
  157. >On one hand, you’d love Twilight to be serving with you as a soldier, but on another, she’d be put in danger…
  158. >Agreed: She’s to remain a librarian.
  159. >A bit further down, you can see in a thicker patch of trees that Lucky is trying to sneak up on Fluttershy
  160. >All is going well, for now
  161. >You close your eyes and meditate
  162. >Trying to find the right amount of aggression to bring out your aura is hard work
  163. >Concentrate
  164. >In your mind’s eye, Equestria is under attack
  165. >Only you and your squadron can defend the country against this faceless threat
  166. >You draw your M1, take aim…
  167. >The formless entities charge
  168. >Quickly, you fire, sending one soul to hell
  169. >A loud BOOM knocks you out of your meditation
  170. >You look towards the source, and find that Pinkie Pie set off her party cannon right next to Lucky
  171. >He’s cowering, shivering in fear
  172. >You sprint towards him, ready to unleash your fury
  173. WHAT THE HELL TRAINEE?! YOU HEAR just ONE SHOT AND YOU’RE USELESS? GET THE FUCK UP NOW! RUN TWENTY LAPS AROUND THE BARN AND GET BACK TO TRAINING!
  174. >He immediately snapped out of it
  175. >”YES SIR!”
  176. >In the corner of your eye, you can tell the others saw what happened
  177. >At least this will serve as a warning
  178.
  179. >Timecheck: 1758
  180. >In the remaining time, you had not been able concentrate on your magic
  181. >Too many loud noises
  182. >In reality though, you were likely to be surrounded by loud noises, so this was the best environment to practice in, but still, you hadn’t even gotten to the basics in even a calm setting
  183. >They’re all coming back now
  184. FALL IN!
  185. >Your trainees fall into formation
  186. >You turn towards your friends
  187. How well did they do?
  188. >”He…did…ok.”
  189. >”We made some progress today.”
  190. >”Party! Party!”
  191. >Jesus Christ how horrifying
  192. >”They gotta get on my level!”
  193. So, what I’m hearing is, they were all terrible?
  194. >They sadly nod
  195. That’s alright. I didn’t expect them to be perfect on the first day. Thank you for training them. See you all tomorrow?
  196. >The four ponies all reply “Yes”
  197. >You wave at them, and they’re off
  198. >Now, back to your formation
  199. >Big Mac had brought out tonight’s dinner
  200. >Peas, carrots, lasagna, spinach, and milk
  201. >Ah, the dinner of champions
  202. Thanks Mac
  203. >”Eeyup”
  204. >A stallion of few words. You could respect that
  205. >You take your plate and fill it with the delicious-smelling food
  206. >After you sit down and eat, your trainees follow suit
  207. >A silent dinner accompanies you
  208. >It’s for the best; they’re going to get their asses handed to them soon
  209. >In less than ten minutes, you and your trainees are all done with dinner
  210. Alright everyone. I happened to make a little mess in your barn. You might want to clean it up before tomorrow.
  211. >Lucky opens the door, and the look of shock on his face is priceless
  212. >The others run over to look at the mess inside
  213. >They can hardly contain their horror
  214. I did a random inspection this morning. I thought I was going to have a nice, relaxing day BUT YOU FUCKERS RUINED IT! I COULDN’T BELIEVE THE MESS YOU TRAINEES LIVED IN! I AM ASHAMED TO BE YOUR COMMANDER! YOU BETTER CLEAN THIS BARN AND KEEP IT CLEAN!
  215. >“YES SIR!”
  216. THERE ARE ONLY TWO KINDS OF SOLDIERS IN MY SQUADRON! OUTSTANDING AND OUTPROCESSING! WHICH ONE ARE YOU?!
  217. >”OUTSTANDING SIR!”
  218. BULLSHIT! THIS BARN DOESN’T LOOK OUTSTANDING! IT LOOKS LIKE THE LIVING QUARTERS OF OUTPROCESSING SOLDIERS! DON’T YOU EVER LEAVE THIS PLACE LOOKING LIKE A SHITHOLE AGAIN!
  219. >”YES SIR!”
  220. >They scrambled into the barn, cleaning up as best as they could. Laundry probably will need to be done, and maybe some new hay for the beds
  221. >That’s a job for tomorrow. You need to rest now, as you suddenly feel exhausted
  222. >You make your way back to your home, the moon already out by the time you arrive
  223. >Opening the door, you notice your lights on and a purple and green dragon in the corner of the living room
  224. Hey Spike, what’s up?
  225. >”Nothing much, just catching up on some reading”
  226. What about?
  227. >”You know, dragon stuff”
  228. Sounds exciting. Twilight here?
  229. >”Of course. She’s in the kitchen, making some dinner. I hope she’s making spaghetti!”
  230. >It breaks your heart to say it, but you have to
  231. Please tell Twilight to refrigerate my portion. I’m much too tired to eat right now. I think trying to harness my magic took me out of it.
  232. >”Oh, ok. I’ll tell her.”
  233. Thanks Spike
  234. >You slowly walk up the stairs, go through your evening routine, and collapse on your bed
  235. >Quickly you fall asleep, and only slightly stir when Twilight slips into bed with you
  236. >Lazily, you put an arm around her, and you cuddle with her
  237. >It’s so much more comfortable to sleep with her in bed with you
  238.
  239. End
