Soup in a covered bowl, Cupcakes in a box, and Pinkie in her new favorite coat took a little while to get wrapped up just right, after all. Couldn't have Anon eating a messed up cupcake now, could we? >But by the time Pinkie had gotten out the door, and down the road to where Anon was staying, he'd already climbed into bed, attempting to forget the events of that day. >Chicken mobs and nightmare ponies, indeed. Anon was already trying to sleep those problems away, but to very little luck. >Sitting up in bed, Anon heard a gentle knock on his door. He'd hoped it wasn't Fluttershy again. She was a nice enough pony, and all. But that stare was just difficult to forget. >Getting up and answering the door, Anon was surprised to see Pinkie with a small bundle hanging from her mouth. >"Heya, Anon! C'n I come 'n?" >A light smile came to his face, as he lifted the package from Pinkie's grip and she spoke with more freedom. >"Can I come in, Nonny? I know you were working hard today, so I brought dinner!" >Looking at the package in his hand, he was tired, but that smile of hers was rather infectious. Turning to one side, Anon made a grand, sweeping gesture to invite her in. With a giggle, Pinkie trotted in, and looked around. >"Wow, Nonny, you decorate like a pony! I was expecting something...I dunno, more human!" >Setting the package on the short counter, Anon ducked a low hanging rafter and set to opening the package. "Well, I didn't have much in my bag when I came here. Wallet, phone, keys, and a dvd I got from the rental box thing near my apartment. You know, come to think of it, that was on my credit card! That's gonna be..." >Anon suddenly got quiet, looking at the bowl of soup and box of cupcakes. Here he was, worried about huge late fees for an overdue movie, when he was never going to be on Earth again. >"Nonny? Are you alright? You look kinda sad..." >Shaking himself out of his thought, he turned to face Pinkie and smiled for her. "It's ok, Pinks. Just a passing thought. I was worrying about something that isn't going to matter in less than a year anyway." >Pinkie looked at her friend, and without speaking, she simply trotted up and hugged his waist. >"We'll figure it out, Nonny. We have a whole year to figure it out, and you have the Elements of Harmony helping you! We'll figure out something before it's too late, I promise! So you just gotta keep smiling, ok?" >With a sigh, Anon returned the heartfelt gesture with a hug of his own. That simple comfort was helping him feel better, even if it was just a little. "I'm not entirely sure what the Elements of Harmony are, but with a friend like you, Pinks, it might not be so bad." >Pinkie blushed at the compliment and hugged the human even tighter than before. She was sure Twilight would be able to think of something with a whole year to work on the problem. She was the smartest pony Pinkie knew! She had to be able to save her new friend! After all...he gave the bestest hugs! She didn't want that to go away! >Letting go, Anon grabbed a couple plates and bowls and set up the soup and cupcakes, setting them on the table next to each other. >"But Nonny...I already had dinner! That's all for you!" "Dinner is no fun when company lets you eat alone. Besides, you brought enough for a small family, Pinks. Honestly, six cupcakes? That's a lot for me." >"I didn't know what kind you wanted, so I brought two mint, two vanilla, and two bubble gum! My favorite!" "Well, then you can have the bubble gum. I happen to love vanilla cupcakes." >Joining Anon at the table, they both ate and enjoyed some light conversation, but after a while, Anon's fatigue started coming over him. A yawn or two escaped his lips, and while she wasn't tired herself, she didn't want to keep him up any later than he needed. >"Should I go home, Nonny? I know you hafta be tired from such a long day!" >Shuddering at the memories that were keeping him up, Anon spoke to Pinkie in a half joking tone. "It's, ok, Pinks. I'm probably not going to sleep all that well tonight anyway. I was having some bad dreams before you came over." >"Well, maybe you need a lullabye! I know one one of my friends taught me, and she says it helps a lot!" >Getting down off the chair in what passed for a dining room, Pinkie walked over to the couch, and patted a hoof down after making herself comfortable. Laughing, Anon decided to humor Pinkie a little, and stretching out on the couch, his feet hanging off the end. Looking in his face, Pinkie smiled. >"Now, you have to close your eyes! I'm not gonna just be singing to sing here!" "I gotta tell you, Pinks, a lullabye? I've not had one sung to me since I was little-" >"Hushit! Now..close your eyes, ok?" >Resigning to the instructions of Captain Pinks, Anon rested his hands across his stomach, while Pinkie started humming softly, brushing a few stray hairs from his face when she began to sing... (ED Note: You can play this for fitting background. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dO_lCKSM-A ) >"Hush now, quiet now... >It's time to lay your sleepy head... >Hush now, quiet now... >It's time to go to bed.   >Drifting off to sleep... >Leave the day behind you. >Drifting off to sleep... >Let the joy of dreamland find you.   >Hush now, quiet now... >It's time to lay your sleepy head... >Hush now, quiet now... >It's time to go to bed.   >Hush now, quiet now... >My dreams will carry you to sleep... >Hush now, quiet now... >It's time for no more peeps.   >Drifting off to sleep... >Love and light will find you >Drifting off to sleep... >Let all my heart please guide you.   >Hush now, quiet now... >Sleeping peaceful like a dove >Hush now, quiet now... >The...pony that I love..."   >Pinkie blinked for a moment, at the now sleeping Anon laying before her. Brushing another stray hair from his face, her voice was barely above a whisper. >"Do...do I..?" >Leaning in to his face, Pinkie placed her lips against Anon's, barely putting pressure behind the stolen kiss. She held it there for a while, before breaking it. Anon didn't wake up, but now, all that was left was a very confused Pinkie Pie. >Getting up carefully, Pinkie made her way to the door, closing it quietly, and leaning against it for a moment or two. >"Why...why did I do that?! He's a human and I'm a pony! Why...why in the world.." >Getting up, Pinkie then proceeded to half argue with herself on the slow walk back to her home. Why did she kiss him? He was a friend! And he's a human! It's not normal! Oh my goodness, I have to talk to someone, but who could I talk to?  If I told them I kissed a human, they would freak OUT! Who can I- >Stopping in her tracks in a lamp light, Pinkie noticed another pony watching from the shadows. As the mare stepped into the light, Pinkie gasped a little. >"Prin...Princess Luna? What are you-" >"Come, Pinkamina. We have something to discuss. About you...and the human." >How did she...?   --------------------   >Waking up after a couple hours, Anon felt a little more rested, but the couch wasn't quite as comfortable as his bed. Both were short, but the bed at least had pillows. >Yawning a little more, Anon got up, heading to his bedroom, looking around for Pinkie Pie. "I guess Pinks went home...can't say I blame her, I made a lousy host." >Licking his lips, Anon tasted something there. "Bubble Gum frosting...must have gotten some on mine. It's..." >Licking the taste off his lips, he nodded before turning out the light. "It's as sweet as I expected it to be."
