Sorry hoove-fans.[/spoiler]   >You are, well, Anon. Because honestly, who else would you be? >You are currently at the park, enjoying a refreshing day before the known Christmas arrives >You also have your good friend Octavia by your side, electing it would be a good day out to spend with each other >And, well, she's not wrong "Damn, you chose a good day to head out. I would've thought that you would be practicing all day." >"About that Anon. I haven't really been preparing for anything" "Why? Are you not doing songs for the CHS?" >Christmas parties at CHS were known to be quite a thing, including it's events that take place within. >Dancing, Games, Drinking >You weren't really fond of events like these, to which you decided to enclose yourself within your home every year. >In this case, you would expect Octavia to be playing music, much like her other friends. >"Well, it happens that I am not wanting to perform this year. I found it to be quite, boring..." >Sitting down on a nearby bench, you continue the conversation. "I always thought you were fond of these things. You seemed to like playing for the School." >"I AM a fond musician, I just can't help that I feel like that is all I'm seen as. Just a musician..." >You understand. She is popular within CHS, but only for her music. "What about Vinyl, is she going?" >"Of couse she is. They are more into her music than my own." "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I prefer your music over her's any day of the week" >It's true, sometimes Vinyl's music was just too ear-shattering. You sometimes wonder why these two are friends with such different tastes. >Looking back over you can see a blush form on her face >"T-thanks, Anon. You are a good friend" >For the years you have known her, you've treated her as your own Sister at times. You two got along good. "No worries, Tavi. I'd listen to you anytime."   >Back to her normal, bright mood, she looks back up to you. >"It's Christmas tomorrow Anon! If you're not spending much time at your home... alone... m-maybe drop by my house sometime?" >And that wonderful shade of red returns >"but of course, if you don't want to..." >Octavia always knew about your lonely days of Christmas, not that it bothered you either way, but company this year wouldn't be too bad of a change. "Are you sure about this Tavi? I'm fine on my own, you know that." >"Of course. I would rather spend it with a friend than be alone" "I guess it's a go then." >And again, that smile is replaced back upon her face. >Something that always made you happy, her being happy. >You were actually looking forward to it now. A day alone with your best (And only) real friend. >Once the talk finished, you realised the time was getting late "Hey, its getting kinda late don't you think? We've been here for 3 hours prior to our talk." >Octavia jerks up >"3 hours?! I was supposed to meet up with Vinyl half an hour ago!" >It was not common for Octavia to be late for things, so this took her by an unexpected surprise. "Well, you better get to it then" >"Yesyesyes, GoodbyeAndSeeYouTomorrow!" >And just like that she was gone >Leaving you with a day to look forward too >Even if it did exclude Whiskey drinking by yourself   >The trip home is... subtle >In fact, you haven't felt this calm since you first met Octavia >Those many years ago felt gloomy. As if nothing could spark your interest anymor?e >Then /she/ came along >You don't treat her as a right of sexual means >No, you treat her as the one closest to your heart >This, in turn, gave you a meaning for this year's Christmas >Life seemed... happy >Even the world around you began to feel much more alive >It felt more like, Christmas >And approaching your door, you began the long chores of being a single home-owner >Shoving the keys into the lock, you twist and unlock the door to thy humble settlement >Life was always the same when it came to your home-being >Video games are always active, food is balanced, social activity kept to the bare minimum (With the exception of Octavia and close family) >Simple, yet it never bores you   >Time drifts by, much faster than anticipated >Those hours put into Command and Conquer really went by >By the time you call it quits, it is already 11:00 at night >Not being fond of late nights and weary mornings, it is the best idea to head straigh to the sack >Skip showering, and the snacks you had could be supplemented by whatever mean you were going to have >In your eyes, today was a good day >You sling one leg over the edge of the bed, pull the covers up, and slide in >Tomorrow is going to be a different Christmas, and who better to have it with than Octavia >You give it one last though, and let the weary darkness engulf you   >For what you believe is 30 minutes of sleep, you awake. Only to find it still being night >What seemed to awake you was a noise from outside your bedroom >By the sounds of it, not just any sound >The sound of a high-pitch note from a song >Then again, it could just be an uncanny coincidence >Crime, and in this situation; break-ins, were rare. If anything; non-existent >But, you weren't just somebody to sit back and hope nothing happens >Quietly, you hop out of bed, trying not to make any noise doing so >Approaching the door you hear the same previous note, this time for much longer >If this was an intended noise, it didn't sound half-bad >Not wanting to grab a weapon straight away, you open the slightly >A quick peek out yields no result >Pitch black room, not even the windows were letting moonlight in >Which in this situation is quite unsettling, since your room is clearly illuminated by it >You can make out that the note is being played in the furthest corner opposite of you, a fair few meters away >It wasn't a loud note, but very calm, this changes your opinion of it being a break-in drasticly >A prank would better fit the circumstances >Conveniently the switch to the light of the room is located to your left >Feeling for it, you locate the object >Flicking the switch yields a much more grey illumination, covering a smaller area than usual >But that what is under the light is what leaves you shocked   >It's... Octavia, with her Chello >Her head is hung low, but you can be sure that it is her >The grey light can't mistake you of her colours >Taking a closer look, you see a single droplet fall from beneath the face >You can't be sure, but it looks like she is... crying >From what, you are unsure >How she got in, you don't know. Why she is playing a single, calm note, also has the same answer. >Moving closer just makes the scene seem all the more unsettling >Still, she does not lift her head, and the tears become more constant >Becoming more clear to you that your friend is in need, you quicken your pace >But part of you wants to stay away, as if you should not be a disturbance >Screw it, might as well attempt some form of communication >With a calm voice, you ask the most obvious question first "Octavia, a-are you alright?" >No response "Octavia, can you hear me?" >Again, no response >You are within arms reach now and yet her head is still hung down >Taking a knee, you ask one more time "Tavi, listen to me" >You didn't care about the problems around you, like the dampened light, unlit room, etc. >You took Octavia as a priority >'Tavi' is what sparked her, you are sure of it >Octavia lifts her head up to yours >Redness is in her eyes from the previous tears >She stops playing those low notes and leans in >You remain still, waiting for a spoken word from her >It isn't until your vision fades, and you feel a wetness on your lips, do you drift back into the darkness
