>A light goes off and you hear a cry.

>It’s a gem that goes off whenever it senses a disturbance in the baby’s room, which is right next to yours.

“Twi, can you-“

>”Anon, it’s your turn. I did it the night before.”

“Ugh, okay.”

>You sit up from your bed and rub your eyes, trying to wake up.

>Get up, and you start heading to Glimmer’s room.

>You get to her room and open the door, seeing the crib.

>Oh god, the crying is louder than you thought.

>You get right next to the crib and pick her up.

>You start rocking her gently while making a soft hum.

>She is starting to calm down a bit.

>Okay, now to figure out what the problem is.

>Please don’t be a diaper change.

>You take a small sniff.

>You relax, you don’t smell anything. She must just be hungry.

>You keep her in your arms and head downstairs to the kitchen.

>Don’t need to worry about waking Spike up. He sleeps in the basement now.

>Wasn’t a big fan of waking up at random times of the night.

>Alright, where is the formula? You know it’s in one of these cabinets.

>It took you a bit considering your holding her, but you fixed up the formula.

>She’s still crying a bit.

>You give her the bottle and start rocking her again.

>She’s finally starting to calm down.

>No matter how hard this seems sometimes, seeing her like this makes it all worth it.

 

Cider

>Be another day at Sweet Apple Acres.

>Sitting at the table with the rest of your family, Cider in her high chair between you and AJ.

>You are getting ready for your part for Applebuck season.

>Fortunately, after Cider was born, Granny finally calmed down about having a satyr as a great granddaughter.

>You still remember her response when you and Applejack said it as a “What if?”

>”Then Ah know why them black vines were here.”

>”Anon, did you hear me?” your wife asked.

“Sorry, what did you say?”

>”Ah asked if ya ready for Applebuck season?”

>Oh yeah, that’s in about two weeks.

“Course I am.”

>Last year, you had to make sure all the equipment was at tip top shape and also helped with making sure the trees were as healthy as possible.

>If you couldn’t fix the equipment, you would send a request to a friend to do it.

“By the way, who’s going to take care of Cider?”

“Don’t worry young’un, Ah don’t mind watching her,”

>It took you a bit to realize Granny said that.

>Not that she wouldn’t, it’s just unexpected.

>Guess you were expecting Applebloom to do it.

“Uh, thanks Granny.”

>”No problem sonny, you four should head on out.”

>”Welp, we should probably get to it,” said Big Mac.

>The four of you head out until Mrs. Smith asked you to stay back for a minute.

>”Sit down for a second.”

>You sit back down and she goes upstairs.

>When she comes back, she brought something wrapped in old newspaper.

>You tear it apart and see what it is.

>”You and my little Applejack still haven’t gotten married yet. I want you to give that to her when you are ready.”

>You give the Granny a hug.

Venus

>And Jesus Christ, it has been a long eight years

>It all started when you and Cadence finally started to get along after years of arguing with the basis of life and death and how love should affect it.

>Then somehow you two started drinking.

>One thing led to another, and you ended up knocking her up.

>You had to get your Sister in Law’s help to hide this and make it look like a miscarriage.

>Ever since, you’ve been raising your daughter in the underworld, where any of Equestria’s skeletons in the closet go.

>”Dad I want to learn new magic.”

>Looks like it’s finally that time she wants to learn dark magic.

>One of the few perks of taking care of the underworld is that you can use dark magic without the fear of getting corrupted. You figured since she is your daughter, it will be the same for her.

“Alright, what kind of spell do you want to learn? We can go through some basics like grasping hands, shroud of darkness, or how to exorcise someone? If you want to learn exorcism, it’s all in the lungs.

>”Not that kind dad.”

“Okay, so you just want to learn basic magic? I got ya kid. Do you want to learn telekinesis or something?”

>”I want to learn a magic I found from one of your books.”

“Which book was it, the lightning one or the water one? I can take you to one of your uncles.”

>”It’s one called love magic.”

>God dammit

>You should have planned for something like this.

>You’re going have to call your sister in law for another favor.

“Um, sure I’ll have to ask your aunt first. She may know a few spells.”

>You ruffle her hair and go to the mirror in your room.

>You cast a spell that lets you call her.

>Come one pick up.

>You see your sister in law.

>”Anon, what is it? Why did you use the emergency spell?”

“Tia, do you know much about love magic?”

>”I know a few spells. Why?”

“Venus asked about love spells. I can’t send her to you know who.”

>”You don’t know any?”

>You just stare at her.

“My career doesn’t exactly require me to learn love magic Tia.”

>”Okay Anon, bring her to Canterlot. Cadence or Shining Armor won’t be here for another month.”

“Thanks Tia. See you in thirty minutes.”

>You head to your daughter’s room.

“Guess what sweetheart, your Auntie Tia knows a few love spells and wants you to teach you them.”

>She looks ecstatic.

>She gives you a big hug.

>”Thanks daddy, I can’t wait to go.”

>Jeez, she’s acting like you’re going to Disney world

“That’s great kiddo, just remember to hide your wings when we go up.”

>She puts some clothes to go outside with and you make sure no one can see her wings.

>The legs won’t be too suspicious, but if they see her wings and that she can do magic, you’re screwed.

>You get ready yourself and make sure you look like a normal human being.

>You two go to the portal that takes you straight to Canterlot’s Castle.

>Time to get this show on the road.

>You step into the portal and are landed straight into the front of the Castle.

>A few guards glance at you.

>By their expressions, they know who you are.

>You head to where you think your sister in law usually is at this time of day.

>Maybe she is in her studies.

>You head to them and see several guards staring at you, curious why you are here.

>You find Tia’s studies and knock on the door.

>”Come in.”

>Before you do walk in, you kneel down to your daughter.

“Venus, I need to stay out here for a second. I need to have a grown up conversation with your Aunt.”

>”Okay Daddy.”

>You open the door and enter.

>Close the door back.

“Tia, long time no see, in person at least.”

>”It’s nice to see you to Anon. Where is Venus?”

“Outside, I think we need to talk though.”

>“About what?”

“Venus. She has been asking about her who her mom is and love magic. Even I’m not sure how to handle this. When do you think any of us should break it to her?”

>She takes a moment to think.

>”I’m not sure myself Anon. If she continues about love magic, maybe sooner, but if she gets interested in dark magic, maybe not any time soon.”

>The two of you ponder about this.

>She decides to break the silence.

>”Have you sent the pictures yet? It’s the second Friday of the month.”

“I was going too. I just forgot with how today’s been.”

>She gives you a small pat on the back using magic.

>”It’s okay, just make it soon. We don’t want to keep her waiting.”

“I will. Venus, you can come on in now!”

>You hear the doorknob click open and see her running in.

>”Auntie Tia! Auntie Tia!”

>She runs in to Tia, giving her a hug.

“Do want me to pick her up or do you want to drop her off.”

>”I don’t mind dropping her off this time.”

“Okay. Bye Venus, tell me what you learned when you come home.”

>”Bye daddy.”

>You head out of Tia’s studies and see your nieces and nephews.

>With that done, all you need to do is send the pictures.

> Two with white coats for legs, Apollo, Artemis, two with blue coats, Sirius, Selene, and a black coat, Medusa.

>Apollo is carrying his equipment for his finger gun and Artemis has her bow.

>”Hi Uncle Anon.” They all said to you.

“Good to see you five again. What are you up to now?”

>Apollo responds, “Me and Art are seeing who the best shot is. Sirius and Selene said they would keep score, and Medusa said she wanted to watch.”

>”It’s clear I’m the best shot. I’m the one who got Tusky without even hurting him.”

>”Please sis. You couldn’t even hit water if you fell out of a boat.”    

“Okay, just make sure you don’t hurt yourself.”

>”We will Uncle Anon.”

“See you five this Hearts Warming Eve.”

>You start to teleport to the underworld and here remnants of the conversation.

>”Apollo, you couldn’t even hit puberty.”

>You’re back in the underworld.

>Time to send the pictures.

>You grab copies of pictures with you and Venus in them.

>You grab an envelope and write inside the same message you have put in them every time.

“Remember to burn these once you see them.”

>Write down to write down the address and the pony receiving the letter.

> Cadence.

>Last thing to do is to stamp your seal on it.

>A dark purple wax with a pomegranate for the symbol

>You go outside and put the letter in the mailbox, waiting for the messenger to get it.
