- >You are Anon
- >You wake up in the middle of a forest, with no memory of how you got there
- >Or anything, for that matter
- >You struggle to stand up, you feel like you have been run over by a truck
- >There isn’t much around you, just trees, trees, and even more trees
- >You close your eyes, trying to remember anything about the situation
- >Then, your ears seem to pick up something
- >Off to your right, there is a faint sound cutting through the thick foliage
- >You can barely hear it, but its there
- >Any civilization is a good thing, right?
- >Unless, of course, it’s some voodoo cannibal tribe thing
- >On your right, there is a trail cutting deeper into the woods
- >You can feel a cool breeze coming from that direction
- >The sun is starting to set, you need to make a decision
- >You decide to duck into a nearby bush for the night
- >No use trying to fight our way through an unknown forest at night
- >You sit down and keep an eye out for anything that might be around
- >You were too anxious to sleep, so there was nothing to do besides wait
- >The moon was rising, offering some light so you could keep a better eye out
- >As you sat there, your mind began to wander
- >What kind of place was this? Is there even any sentient life?
- >Sure, you heard some noises off in the distance, but that could have been anything
- >Then, you hear rustling behind you, interrupting your thoughts
- >You jump up, scanning the area for any movement
- >Then, you are hit in the back of the head, knocking you unconscious
- --
- >You wake up with a start
- >Your head was throbbing, whatever hit you did its job
- >You look around you, and see that you’re in a type of cell
- >There is an odd green glow emitting from an unknown source, but it gives just enough light to see
- >The cell was made out of solid rock, with crude bars blocking the entrance
- >You try to stand up, but some kind of thick green goo has you pinned to the floor
- >Then, you hear voices coming your way, and they do not sound pleased
- >The door slammed open, and in walked the strangest creature you have ever seen
- >It was a tall, black pony, but that wasn’t what caught your attention
- >It had a bunch of holes all over its body, its legs, horn everything
- >Even its mane had holes
- >It looked at you for a second, then spoke in a smooth yet cautious tone
- “My name is Chrysalis, Queen of the Changlings. My subjects have brought you here because you were trespassing in my kingdom. Now, what is your business?”
- >You struggle against your bonds at the abomination, rage coursing though every fiber of your being
- >Her eyes widen at your sudden act of aggression, but quickly composes herself
- “It seems that there is some fight in you. That is good. You might just be useful for my plans.”
- >You stop struggling and gaze blankly at her
- >”Plans? What kind of plans?”
- >She flashes a fanged smile at you
- >It wasn’t all that reassuring
- “You’ll see, if you behave. Now, let’s get you up off the floor.”
- >Her horn glows green, and the goo that has you pinned down is lifted, taking you with it
- >She frees your legs, but keeps your arms crossed around your chest
- “Now, follow me, and I will answer any questions that you have.”
- >You follow her out of the cell and into a tunnel
- >It looks like you’re in a cave system of some sort
- >”So, what seems to be the problem?”
- >She doesn’t answer immediately, leading you through one tunnel after another
- “Something has been attacking my hive. They only attack when we are out in the open, usually a scouting group. The only thing they leave behind is mangled bodies and a strange black sludge. Few have survived an attack, and those who have, are…”
- >She stops with an abrupt halt, and you nearly bump into her
- >She looks back at you with a quick glance, then continues her journey, faster than before
- “Something is hunting my swarm. I need you to help me take care of it. You are obviously have the stomach for violence.”
- >Well, she wasn’t wrong
- >She stops in front of an opening covered by a black curtain
- >You can hear a chorus of moans of agony
- “Here is what happened to the survivors.”
- >You enter the room together, and you are met with the most disturbing site you have ever seen
- >Dozens of ponies, or at least you think they were ponies, were laying in beds, all with some sort of hideous affliction
- >With the less severe ones you could actually see the holes in their legs, just like Chrysalis
- >The rest were disfigured beyond recognition
- >The one nearest you looked like its flesh was melting off
- >You looked at Chrysalis, who was trying her hardest to maintain composure
- >Man, this place seems depressing
- >Nothing a little bit of pole dancing can’t fix
- >You go over to an IV stand and start swinging on it
- >Which was an astonishing feat, considering you were only using your legs
- >Chrysalis, on the other hand, didn’t find that so amusing
- >You feel a strong force grip your body and slam you against the wall
- >Chrysalis gets right in your face and snarls at you
- “Do you think this is funny you maggot?”
- >”Well I thought it was pre-URK”
- >Suddenly your throat seals shut, Chrysalis looking livid
- “If you want to live, I suggest you keep the jokes to yourself. Are you done playing games?”
- >You have no other choice than to feverishly nod your head, your vision starting to go black
- >She drops you to the floor, and you gasp for breath, trying not to throw up
- “Now, if you’ll just follow me, we can move on with my plan.”
- >She turned sharply and stalked out of the room
- >You get up and stagger after her
- >You follow her in silence through the cave
- >After a few twist and turns, you are met with a blinding light
- >Squinting from the daylight, you manage to make out a troop of hole ponies
- >Chrysalis said something about being queen of changelings
- >They must be what they call themselves
- >A group of about five changelings bring up a large black chariot, and Chrysalis climbs in
- “Well, are you coming?”
- >She really expected you to climb in that thing
- >It’s not like you have any other choice, however
- >As soon as you climb in, the chariot takes off
- >How, you have no idea
- >Chrysalis studies you for a second, then opens her mouth
- “Do you have a name, creature?”
- >”…Anon. You can call me Anon.”
- “Well, Anon, I hope that you have more in you than just anger.”
- >”What do you mean?”
- >She turned her head to look at the landscape below
- “Let’s just say I’m meeting an old friend.”
