- Chapter 7
- >You are Chrome pony
- >The day has passed and night has come.
- >you sit on the sofa utilising your ethereal ponynet display for master, as you would have done any other day.
- >expect this time, your head is comfortably resting in master's lap while he strokes your hair.
- >after all the years spent pining at Master's feet and working yourself to the bone, now finally has he given you the hug and physical contact you so desperately wanted.
- >you can't think of anything more perfect, than this moment right here
- >Master moves his hand away from your mane and starts to play with your ears, gently caressing them and scratching behind them.
- >how can something so simple feel so good.
- >you arch your head back into his chest as he plays with your mane and head,
- “I love you Master.”
- >He smiles back
- >Master was the kind who would keep quiet rather than be the centre of attention.
- >but that smile told you everything who ever wanted to know
- >even if he never told you (as often as you did,) he loved and cared for you deeply.
- >you snuggle back into master's lap feeling the heat from his body on the side of your face.
- >with a playful flick of your ear Master gets you attention.
- >”Chrome, could you please bring up a map of Ponyville?”
- “Of course Master, does size/detail or ratio matter?”
- >”Not really, just a plan view is fine.”
- >Your Master's wish is your command, within the second you are looking for highly detailed maps for master.
- 1/4
- >he said it didn't mind how much detail is on the map.
- >but for Master, only the best.
- >the highest and most accurate map file begins to load onto the ethereal screen you project.
- >it's really straining you to load this much data.
- >Selfish Chrome, you just need to push yourself a bit harder.
- >your body tenses as you will your energy into loading this file faster
- >you won't disappoint master with lousy low quality images.
- >Your body strains under the pressure but the file loads.
- >way bigger than you thought. But in such high quality.
- >”Perfect Chrome.”
- >he pats your head, not noticing how much effort you had to put into getting that file
- >you feel Master's warm, strong hands massage your head and neck
- >'Worth it.' you say to yourself knowing how much Master needed this map.
- >for some reason...
- “Master, if you don't mind my asking, why DID, you want a map of Ponyville?”
- >he simply points at the display
- >”in what direction would you say North is, Chrome?”
- >you try to take a guess.
- “There is town centre, an the road to Applejack's farm leads South.”
- >you try to find Master's home where you live. That way it'll be easy to find your sense of direction.
- >either the map is really, really old and didn't include Master's home or the map was wrong
- >you think it might be the latter, several buildings are not in their right places.
- >after a few seconds looking however it hits you,
- “oh the image is the wrong orientation,”
- >tilting your head the other way round so your head is now off Master's lap and leaning towards your body,
- >now you quickly find yourself.
- >you where always good with maps, but that one threw you off slightly
- >you find the road to applejack's farm and point to North
- “That direction is North Master.”
- 2/4
- >he russles your head an stares at the map a little longer before nodding in satisfaction.
- >Master clearly had a plan with this whole 'pointing north' thing, but like heck if you knew what it was.
- >”Ok chrome, close down the ponynet and get off, we have stuff to do.”
- >you look at Master confused. You wish you didn't have to get off Master, but what ever he says goes.
- >you hop off, and your glowing eyes return to their pale blue as the screen fades
- “What are we doing Master?”
- >he grins.
- >it's not the grin of 'I love you, i'll be with you forever.' smile he normal gives you
- >this was a mischievous smile.
- >”oh don't worry it'll be fine, we are going for a little walk.”
- >you look out the window.
- >it's pitch black outside with only the stars shining.
- “This late, master?”
- >he walks through into the other window and grabs his coat.
- >you're already wearing yours.
- >he opens the door and motions you to walk with him.
- >you walk through town in the dead of night, lamps are off and Luna's moon lights up the cold sky in their place
- >you want to know what he is up to. But you don't want to spoil your quiet moment with Master.
- >eventually you reach the town's edge. And begin walking up a hill a little way North of Ponyville
- >you feel a little tired as master stands ontop the hill waiting for you to catch up.
- >he sits down.
- >you can't yet see what it is he's looking at, but to be back at his side you trot a little faster.
- >as you approach the hills peak, you now see why he wanted you here with him
- >the view is of Canterlot in the far distance with every star visible, not blocked by the roofs and light from Ponyville.
- “it's beautiful.”
- 3/4
- >Master doesn't say anything and instead extends an arm round your back and pulls you close into him
- >you rest your head on his shoulder, and stare into Luna's night sky.
- >”When I left you yesterday, this is where I came.”
- >”it let me a do a lot of thinking.”
- >you don't say anything.
- >”while I sat her, I realised something, ever since I took you away from your friends and sister's back at the Browser store, you've been a changed filly.”
- “but, I changed for the better, I changed for you...”
- >”you put me ahead of yourself. Chrome. I fell in love with that adorable little filly the first day I met you.
- The filly I played games with, the mare I could talk to.”
- >”but now, you are so quiet, you ask for permission to do things that other browsers do naturally.”
- >you feel confused.
- “This, isn't what you wanted of me?”
- >he pulls you into a embrace,
- >”i never wanted you to change, but these last few years felt so alone, even with you by my side.”
- >he takes hold of your head and tilts it down slightly.
- >he kisses you on the forehead.
- >”please don't change any more Chrome, I don't want to imagine losing you.”
- >those familiar tears in the corner of your eyes are there again
- >with your hooves you take hold of Master's hands bringing them to your face, rubbing them against your cheek
- >you lean into him again, resting against his chest, feeling his heart-beat as you stare into the night letting your eyes close.
- “I'm not going anywhere Master.”
