>Waking up today you felt what could only be described as nervousited
>Today was Hearts and Hooves day and you decided that you would finally breakout of the social shell you created
>You had spent all of yesterday working on the card that was now held in your magic
>you poured your heart into creating this thing, coming together with a design that would impress even Sweetie Belle's older sister
>"Liz, it's time for school!"
>Your mother calling snaps you out of your trance and you tuck the card into your empty saddle bag
>Practically running for the front door you're stopped by your mother
>Someones in a rush, mind telling me what all the fuss is about?
>You fail to contain a beaming smile as you say
"Today's going to be a great day, I just know it!"
>"Glad to hear that Sweetie. Have a nice day at school."
"Of course!"
>On the way to school you meet with Dinky, one of the few ponies you did talk to
>As you two walk and talk Dinky's mother flies overhead giving you two a smile, a wave,and a warning

>Reading over the card you feel your nerves set in but you act before they stop you
>Turning to your left you begin to call to the colt

>Before you could finish, the filly between you handed him a card and as she did you felt your heart drop
>You were quick to reassure yourself, it's hearts and hooves day after all so of course he got a card, everyone did
>As you look back to them you see them embrace one another in a hug
>The card fell from your hooves, your vision blurs as you look down to the floorboards
>Sure everyone got cards but not hugs...
>The statement repeats in your head on realization
>Looking around the room literally everyone present were receiving cards
>Everyone but you
>Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon even Cheerilee received a card
 
>"Something the matter?"
>Cheerilee looked slightly concerned
"N-nothing, I just dropped my card."
>Her eyes seemed to glow as the card comes into view
>"Why Liza aren't you lucky. That card is magnificent, someone must have put a lot of work into that!"
>You speak in a low tone but just loud enough for her to hear
"Yeah they did..."
>As she trotted away you heard a roar of thunder
>You let your gaze fall back to the floor
>You didn't care..
>You were used to it...
>Same thing every year
