2000 hrs. Edge of Space
You're day is done and you spend the evening in the bar. Of course you're not alone, the planes are all talking and shooting the shit. Princess Luna, Twilight and that group are also in the bar, in a corner far from you, Thunderbolt and Morgan.
"Are the shuttles settled in Dad?" Morgan asked waking you partially from your half asleep state.
"Yea, they've settled in I think. Wonder when that launch facility is going to be built. Those orbiters are useless without the rockets to launch them up. Then again, the carriers could launch them from 30,000 ft, maybe, though I don't think they'd have the fuel to get up to orbit." You said as your knowledge on spacecraft is not as strong as your aircraft knowledge.
"Then why are they here?" Morgan asked.
"Because they find this place to be safe. They're right for the most part. Thunderbolt don't you think Avalon's Shadow is safe?" You say bringing Thunderbolt into the conversation.
"Well yes, Avalon's safe. Primarily because you've made it as safe as it is Anon." Thunderbolt said making you smile.
"Well, nice to know that I've done something useful." You say as you wonder what's going on across the bar.
 
2015hrs. Across Edge of Space.
"Princess this place is just so amazing!" Twilight said as she had trouble staying still from the newness of everything.
"Twilight, they are like any other pony. They all have what make them special." Luna said as she wasn't too concerned with the ponies here,
"How could you not be fascinated with them? Bio-mechanical beings! Are they made or are they born?" Twilight asked clearly asking the wrong pony.
"Ah think yer askin the wrong pony here Twilight. With that being said, we're awful far from home Twi." Applejack said
"I know we're not close to Ponyville, but look at them! It's like they're no different than us!" Twilight said still in awe of the biomechanical nature of the plane ponies.
"I don't get their wings Twilight. I mean yea they can fly and all, but they're fixed outward like that." Rainbow Dash said as this was her observation on the plane ponies.
"Oh Rainbow, how they fly is completely different than how we fly, in a sense. But they're made of aluminum but it seems just like our fur and skin. Princess Luna, you were on Morgan's back, tell me was it like sitting on a metal bench or like on a warm couch?" Twilight asked as Luna was slightly shocked by her question.
"Twilight Sparkle, I am here to visit a friend, not take part in your inquiry of them." Princess Luna said slightly annoyed.
"Sorry Princess." Twilight said.
"It was like I was sitting on the back of a very large pony if you must know. Yes their skin is metallic, but it's squishy." Luna said allowing Twilight some indulgence into her inquiries.
"So it's some sort of biometallic composite?" Twilight asked as Luna was confused by the question.
"Twilight my dear, this place is sort of messy" Rarity said as you walked up to the group to check on them.
"Of course it is, every building here is a hangar of different size. In my entire life I have never seen one that's perfectly clean. Sometimes the big guys can't really clean the small areas miss. You all holding out alright?" You say as this is the first time you've struck a conversation with them all.
"Yes Anon, we're doing alright." Princess Luna said as you nod.
"Good, but if there's anything I can do for you please don't hesitate to ask" You say and near instantly regret saying.
"Well, there's next to no entertainment out here. Perhaps you all could put on a show." Rarity said
"Well, I'll have to talk to everyone, don't think they'd mind too much. May I ask what may I call you?" You say asking for her name.
"My name is Rarity."
"Ah, well, I'll try and see if they're willing to put on a display." You say and then walk back to your table leaving them to discuss whatever they were.
"Well he certainly doesn't seem like Princess Celestia made him out to be. I was expecting something worse." Rarity said after you had left.
"That's because Celestia embellished the truth. What happened was an accident on everypony's fault. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time." Luna said defending you from her sister's lies.
"Princess what exactly happened?" Rarity asked.
"Rarity, you don't want to know." Twilight said cutting her off.
"But!"
"He'll tell us if he wants to so no prodding about that incident." Twilight said as Luna sighed, knowing full well of what happened to you.
"We all should be getting our rest. Twilight I hear from Morgan that you've made an arrangement with Anon to assist him in his shop?" Luna said as she was telling everyone to go and sleep.
"I have, he seemed reluctant to allow me in his shop. Set out some rather strict rules." Twilight said as you're very protective of almost all the plane ponies in Avalon's Shadow.
"Morgan has offered to show me how she works internally, but Anon did not want to take her apart. It would seem that he will not take them apart unless it is necessary to do so. It would appear that he's the unofficial ruler of Avalon's Shadow. Either he ignores it, or doesn't know." Luna said as it was now just Twilight and Luna at the table.
You showed up at their table again, not out of choice, but because Morgan carried you there, part of your coveralls hanging from her mouth.
"Hello again, Princesses." You say as Morgan drops you.
"It would seem that Morgan is more than happy to show off for you all." You say as Morgan prods you in the back.
"Knock it off, you'll hurt me. Anyways Princess Luna, Twilight, after some consideration Morgan is willing to be and I quote "Stripped down to show the Princess how I work on the inside." Frankly I would have preferred if I didn't have to take apart my daughter, but as it seems her persistence and stubbornness is a trait which she most clearly got from me," you say
"There is no way I can win this argument without becoming a broken sack of bones, therefore, tomorrow my shop shall be closed for everything but emergencies so I show the two of you how she works. Again, I would have preferred any other pony to dismantle and reassemble other than my Morgan, but since she is being very stubborn I shall grant her that wish. Though her turbines are staying in place, all systems will be exposed and seen. Please try not to damage her too much, I can put her back together, but I really don't want to replace anything in her." You say as you're upset that she's forcing you into this. You can't say no to Morgan can you?
"Thank you Anon, Morgan you're far too kind to me." Luna says as Morgan blushes.
"Its nothing Princess, I'd do this for any of my friends." Morgan said as you're a little concerned, but then again, she didn't have many friends outside of Lightning, the Twins and the Sukhois. All those who weren't afraid of her, but embraced her deadly power.
"Well Morgan, we should go and get some rest, I've got a very busy day tomorrow, and so do you my little one." You say as she allows you to climb up on her back.
"Princess Luna, aren't you staying with us?" You ask before climbing up onto Morgan.
"Yes, I believe Morgan asked if I could, I'm not opposed to it."
"Then by all means, Princesses and Ladies first." You say motioning to Morgan's back letting her climb on first before you.
"What about me Anon?" Twilight asked
"Shop, 0800 hrs. I'll try not to be late." You say as you're now atop Morgan.
"Time to go home?"
"Yes Morgan, let's go home." You say as she walks from the bar back to your home.
 
2200 hrs. Buran hangar.
"Buran, did you and Challenger get along today?" Mriya asked.
"We usually do Mom. Challenger and I saw you and Sadie out today. How'd that go?" Buran asked.
"It went good, she gave me some good advice on how to deal with you."
"Please tell me it's not more of that infernal bubble wrap." Buran said
"No Buran, I'm going to stop using bubble wrap." Mriya said
"Praise be to Celestia, no more bubble wrap." Buran said relieved of his burden of bubble wrap.
"Yes, no more wrapping you in bubble wrap before you go out. I think it's time I let you go out on your own, and make a few of your own decisions." Mriya said as she playfully gave Buran a light tap on his head.
"So that's why you haven't sent me to bed." Buran said as Mriya would have sent him to bed hours ago.
"Yes, but I'll be here if you need my help with anything. I'll try not to be so overprotective of you." Mriya said as Buran laughed and went off to bed, as he was a tired little shuttle.
 
0645 hrs. your home.
There's a rapid pounding on your hangar door early in the morning. You swear it's machine gun fire from an elder pony, but the voice you hear indicates otherwise.
"ANON! I need your help right now! Nora, she's... She's hurting." Raptor was screaming outside as you walked to the door half asleep wearing nothing but basketball shorts and a T shirt.
"Raptor I'm tryin to sleep. What's the big commotion if you're here waking my ass up?" You say as you open your door.
"Anon can you help her?" Raptor asked as she knelt by Nora
"What happened?" You ask as you walk out barefoot and confused as to why Nora's seemingly unconscious on your doorstep.
"I don't know, I threw a pillow at her, hit her side, she was fine, then she wakes up calling for me to get you, and now this! She was awake when I brought her here." Raptor said on the verge of tears.
"Alright, get her to the shop. I'll take care of her there. Out here, there's a bit of an uncontrolled environment." You say as you sprint to your shop to get the doors open for Raptor and Nora.
You somehow manage to beat the panicked Raptor to your shop. When she brought Nora inside you shut the doors and began to examine her, asking Raptor where exactly the pillow hit her.
"That's interesting." You say as you examine where the pillow hit.
