This job,  a quick fix to your rent problems, seemed okay at first. The restaurant had seen better days, the animatronics were old and creepy as hell, but it was okay. Sitting on your ass for $120. Anyone would jump at the chance.   Until they started moving.   You saw it on the camera, one of them starting to turn their head towards the camera. Glassy eyes fixated on the camera lens. Like it knew. Then the screen flickered, bursting with static, and it was gone, somewhere else in the restaurant. The distant sound of pots and pans clattering together echoed down the hallway to your office. The kitchen camera was broken, but the audio worked fine. A strange, strained clucking sound barely audible on the fuzzy stream.   You panicked, shutting both doors and flicking through the cameras, hoping that this was all a prank. That someone would jump out and tell you it was a joke. That the animatronics weren't moving around. Alive.   The monitor flickers again. Another animatronic disappears, leaving only the brown bear.   For 7 foot tall metal animals, they were surprisingly agile. In an instant, they could move halfway across the restaurant, disappearing in the blink of an eye. Impossible to predict. As you flicked through, desperately trying to follow the purple rabbit, you noticed something out of place.   The poster. Before, it had been a set of rules for the restaurant. Now, it was something else. Something... You couldn't tell. It was vague. You couldn't make it out, but, at the same time, you could see it perfectly. Like it was in your mind's eye. Something yellow.   Then it started. Slowly at first, a strange scratching feeling on the back of your head, almost inside your skull. Hairs standing up on the back of your neck. A metallic smell in the air, tinged with something unpleasant. The monitors started flickering, more so than usual. A sense of dread slowly invading the room.   You blink. It was staring at you. An eyeless horror, body splayed on the floor. Lifeless, yet alive. Bile rose in your stomach as the empty eyesockets seemed to expand, engulfing your vision. Filling it with nothing but the face of the thing staring back at you. Heart thumping, slowing down, beating out of your chest almost as the impossible vision before you starts creeping onwards, invading your very being. The scratching feeling inside your head was growing stronger, strange visions twisting through your mind now as the face of the thing grew to a monstrous size.   Blink.   It was gone. Just a memory, burnt into your skull. You stare at the clock on the wall. 6:26am. A whole night gone. You didn't move. Your mind was still reeling, still numb. Desperately trying to forget the vision of that dead yellow thing. Someone taps you on the shoulder.   "Mike? Mike?"   You try to respond, mouth refusing to move. You manage a soft grunt, staring dumbly at the confused employee.   "What's wrong with you?"   Finally, your lips move. "I... Th-.. Nothing." you mumble, pulling yourself up out of the office chair, stumbling towards the exit.   "Okay, man. See you tomorrow night."   You feel the hairs on the back of your neck begin to stand up again.
